Windgale meandered aimlessly through the woods, finally finding herself in the Flower Patch, a bright sunny spot where an abundance of flowers grew, thier rich scents mingling to produce a wonderful collaborative aroma. Windgale sighed. How she wished she could feel happiness, to feel laughter. But that was not to be. She sighed again, her mood darkening as her mind revisited the past, and the wounds in her heart festered, never quite healing..

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather padded into the Flower Patch, glad to be away from the Clan for a while. Things were becoming too tense for him lately. Even though he may seem calm and cool on the outside, on the inside there were times when his emotions became too much to bear. His spirits soared at first when he thought he was alone, but plummeted when he spotted a cat in the clearing. And not just any cat, it was Windgale, the coldest she-cat in the Clan. Sure he was a pretty cold cat, but is it really healthy for a she-cat to be that cold?

(hahahaha! ^^ niiice XD though I have to agree with Ravenfeather. Hmm. WINDGAAALE- its bad for your health to be so cold!!! *scolds* Windgale: *ignores* )
Windgale stifled a groan as she heard the soft crunching of leaves under paws. The scent drifted ahead of it's owner, and Windgale's annoyance rose. Of all cats in Earthclan, it had to be Ravenfeather, a tom, and clan deputy. Her ears flattened and she refused to acknowledge his presence. Despite it being Green-leaf, the temperature between the two cats seemed to drop, matching the two cats' chilly mannerisms...
(lol!! oh my goodness, this is gonna be quite a standoff XD)

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather let out a small growl of annoyance. Surely she knew he was there, he was upwind from her for StarClan's sake! Either she had a serious problem with her nose, or she knew that he was there but refused to acknowledge his presence. He stalked toward her. He may have made an angry approach, but when he reached the dark gray she-cat, he spoke to her in a calm cool voice. Do you not know how to acknowledge your deputy when they enter into an area?

Windgale's eyes narrowed. "I wasn't aware that you were deputy yet, Ravenfeather." she growled. "Treestar hasn't held your ceremony, so don't get all high and mighty with me." Her ears lay flat against her skull; she wished he would just go away! "Besides, when is it part of the code that one must drop everything to do obeisance to a deputy." She glared at him. "But fine, since you insist," she stepped back and dipped her head in mockery at him. "There, you have been acknowledged, dear deputy." Sarcasm dripped from every word.
(ouuuch... >.< )

RAVENFEATHER A twitch of Ravenfeather's tail was the only thing to betray him at the fact that her comments had made him angry. Even though his voice was calm, if it was possible it got even colder. Even if Treestar hasn't held my ceremony yet, doesn't mean that he won't. And it doesn't have to be part of the warrior code for a cat to acknowledge their deputy. It's something called 'common sense', which you seem to be lacking. And if you dare mock me again, once I'm made deputy I will have you do all of the apprentices chores for a whole moon. Ravenfeather said the last part with a slight growl in his voice.

Windgale turned to face him, her eyes locking into his. "oooh, I'm sooo scared." She hissed. "I'm a useless warrior, mind as well put me to work doing something good." she growled, getting to her paws. Her fur started to rise along her spine, but she forced it down. "If there's nothing more to say, Ravenfeather, I think I'll be going." With that, the dark grey she cat stalked off, growling loudly...
(hmm what should happen? Who should save the other? Hmmm there could be falling into a river, fox attack, badger attack, but all those are boring. Hmmm.... perhaps a two leg catches one of them? orrr.......)

OOC: Hmmm.....I think that maybe Ravnfeather should save Windgale, considering she left first, and if you don't mind. As for the attack, I think it should be a fox. IC: RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather opened his mouth to say something, but stopped himself. He wanted peace and quiet when he came to the Flower Patch, and thats what he was about to get. There was no point in keeping Windgale here any longer by arguing with her, so he just let her go. Even though he would never admit it out loud, he didn't think Windgale was a useless warrior at all. In fact, she was one of the few best warriors he knew, despite her cold deminor. Ravenfeather let out and exhausted sigh and sat down to think.

(Thats what I thought too- that Ravenfeather should do the saving, but I wanted to make sure it was okay with you! ^^ and sure a fox it'll be- she'll be so preoccupied she won't know it attacked her til too late)
Windgale padded away, sneaking a look over her shoulder to see if Ravenfeather was following her. She relaxed when he wasn't. Might get some peace and quiet now, she thought with a hard stare. Not that....not that it ever does any good... Windgale's angry stance turned sad, and her pawsteps dragged. She was Windpaw again, and caught up in the bullying of her peers. She winced, an apprentice hurling a name at her, simply because of her parentage. "Blotchy!" a black and tan apprentice jeered, amber eyes narrowed. "You're going to be just like your father, a deadweight!" Windgale recoiled, and backed away, not seeing reality for what it was. Instead, she'd been caught in her nightmare, and unable to get out. She tripped, and tumbled down a large hole in the ground; even then she wasn't aware of the fox- she only saw the apprentice who'd tripped her...

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather started grooming his fur, while getting lost in his thoughts. More specifcally his past. He still had no idea what happened to his family. Even though he doesn't mention them anymore, he really missed his family. He shook himsef out of his sad thoughts and quickly turned them to the Clan, wondering when Treestar would hold his deputy ceremony.......

Windgale winced- she'd twisted her paw when the imaginary apprentice (in reality a root) tripped her. She limped around, seeing nothing but the cruel faces of her tormentors. Suddenly, the nightmare vanished, replacing imagination with reality, and Windgale found herself face to face with a fox. She gasped, her eyes widening. The fox licked it's lips and started towards her, it's amber eyes shining malevolently. It hadn't eaten in ages, and cat on the menu looked good... Windgale narrowed her eyes. It was just a fox, surely she could defeat it; she'd done so before. She leapt forward, paling when her paw screamed in pain, and it crumbled underneath her, throwing her to the ground once more. Windgale hissed in annoyance. Stupid paw...No, make that stupid me, falling into the trap of memories. If it weren't for that, I'd be safe and in fighting fitness... SHe growled at the fox, her fluffy fur standing up on end as it approached. At first, her savage response startled the fox, but it had noticed her inability to move quickly due to a hurt paw. It lunged at her and try as she might, Windgale couldn't move fast enough. It's teeth sank into her shoulder, and she let out an angry screech. Using her good paw, she swung her claws right into the fox's muzzle- but missed- it had already moved away, grabbing her tail and pulling her closer, going in for the kill bite. Windgale twisted and turned, desperately trying to land a blow and escape, but it wasn't working. The fox, deftly avoided her claws and teeth, and kept inflicted it's own upon her, weakening her....

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather's head shot up as he heard an angry and painful screech. Without thinking about it, he shot to his paws and raced towards what sounded like a cat in trouble. He opened his jaws slightly to pick up any scents that could help him. The only thing he picked up was Windgale's scent. He never noticed how, nice it smelled before. He shook his head to clear it. Now's not the time to think about that! He charged forward, staying on trail with Windgale's scent. He came upon a large hole in the ground, and thats where the sounds were emitting from. Without another moment of hesitation, Ravenfeather dove into the whole. He quickly located the fox, who had it's disgusting teeth in Windgale's pelt. With a yowl of pure fury and rage, Ravenfeather leaped on the creatures back, clawing vicously at it's ears and eyes.

The fox dropped Windgale, and tried to throw off it's attacker. The fox clawed at Ravenfeather, it's dull claws not nearly as effective as Ravenfeather's sharp honed ones. Twirling around and racing towards the wall, the fox's plan was to scrape its opponent against it and hope that he'd come off..
Windgale, released from the fox's teeth, sank to the ground, pain overwhelming her senses. Dimly, she could hear the furious screech of a cat-but with every sense swimming and starting to black out, she couldn't tell who her savior was. She fought the enveloping shadows, but conciousness was slippery. She lost hold, and sank into a painless oblivion...

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather saw that the fox was heading for the wall, and quickly found out what it's plan was. At the last minute he leaped off it's back, and took up a protective stance in front of Windgale, using his body as a barrier between the vicous dog and his Clanmate. He noticed that Windgale was slipping into unconciousness, he had to wake her up, if she closed her eyes, she may never open them again. Without taking his eyes off of the fox, Ravenfeather called out to her. Windgale! Do not close your eyes! Stay with me! Do you here me?! Ravenfeather's voice range with authority as he gave out the command and asked the question.

Ravenfeather's voice broke through her darkness as the light chases away the shadows. His voice, calling with authority and desperation gave her new strength, and she struggled once more with the darkness that threatened to overcome her. "I..I heard you.." she meowed weakly, her blood pooling on the ground. Her vision was limited to a small scope, and her eyes fell upon Ravenfeather, his body shielding her own. A wave of gratitude washed over her- he was willing to protect her? A weak useless warrior? That thought along helped her in her fight against unconciousness.. She stared up at his sleek form, and while everything else seemed to waver and move, he did not..
The fox, limping badly now, turned towards Ravenfeather, defeat written on it's face. It knew it couldn't hope to best Ravenfeather- Windgale had been weakened, distracted, but Ravenfeather was none of those. With a halfhearted growl, it limped quickly out of the den, seeking less ferocious prey...

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather stood in his protective stance for a while longer, trying to make sure that the fox really left. Once he was sure, he turned towards Windgale. For once there was nothing but emotion on the tom's face, he gazed at her with concer and fear for her on his face. He padded quickly over to her, and started grooming her fur. Trying to clean all of the blood from her fur so he could see where the worst damage was done. Are you okay? He asked between lick. Then Ravenfeather noticed how stupid he sounded. Of course she wasn't okat, she was just attacked by a fox for StarClan's sake! He braced himself for a sarcastic retort. Windgale may be hurt, but he wouldn't put it past her to still have her sharp tongue.

"Yeah, never been better." She whispered dryly, still fighting unconciousness. But with every gentle lick of Ravenfeather's tongue on her fur, the less the darkness tried to consume her. "You know, being attacked by a fox is the highlight of my day." she meowed sarcastically, but a smile was on her face, a woozy one, but one nonetheless. It took the sting out of her words. She looked at Ravenfeather's face, and nearly gasped at the emotions warring on his handsome visage. Concern? Compassion? For her? She could do nothing but stare deep into those eyes, bewildered.

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather let out a purr of amusement, glad that she wasn't hurt too badly to joke around, and also that she smiled to take the bite out of her words. Well, if it's the highlight of your day, lets just hope it doesn't happen everyday. I don't know how often I'll be around to save you. Ravenfeather was suprised at himself, was he really having a friendly banter with Windgale, of all cats?

Windgale rolled her eyes goodnaturedly. "Don't worry, it won't. At least I certainly won't be chasing after foxes to get this kind of thrill again." she meowed teasingly. She stopped, surprised at herself. Was this really her? Was she...smiling? Teasing even? And...Ravenfeather's concern felt so wonderful- she'd never had a cat look at her this way before, even if it was only compassion and concern. It was different. That made her smile more. "Umph, I'm tired of laying around here and watching you play hero, and, I'm staarving!" She tried to get to her paws, but the pain of her paw, hurt once by tripping and twice by the fox, wouldn't let her stand. She made a small face.

RAVENFEATHER Ravenfeather gazed in concern again as Windgale tried to get to her paws, and failed. If you want, I can catch something for the both of us to eat.... Ravenfeather gazed at Windgale with compassion and nervousness in his eyes, once again amazed with hims self. This was the first time that he openly did a favor for any cat, all the other times that he ever did a favor, it was always in a very subtle way. Not only that, this would be the first time that he would share tongues with a cat. He mostly ate by himself, and from time to time he would eat with another cat. But whenever he did, it was always a tom, and they never did nothing more than talk. This would be his first time eating with a she-cat, and if Windgale allowed it, grooming her pelt.
