Windgale looked at her Clanmates, feeling very low. Ever since she had been teased as a young kit about her parentage, the grey warrior had always felt that others didn't like her. She sighed and looked up. She was on patrol, and now wasn't the time to mope. Treestar, Forestfur and Flashpaw padded along, Windgale in the rear. The black swampy lake approached, and all of a sudden, the ground disappeared from underneath thier paws! Windgale's dark blue eyes widened as she fell...

Forestfur yowled as he fell, and he grasped onto his son, Flashpaw's scruff. Never would he let his son fall. He thought bitterly to Leaffur, how she was never there anymore, and how his apprentice and daughter, Songpaw, was seemingly gone. Then he focused on finding solid ground.
Flashpaw hissed as the ground vanished. He felt his father's teeth meet his scruff, and nearly cried when he realized it was a long fall. Then suddenly, the ground was there again... but no light.

Windgale lay panting on the ground, trying to recover her breath.
"Wha- What was th-that?" She meowed. She tried to get up and bumped into another cat. "oops! Sorry. what happened to the light?" She stared up, willing her eyes to pierce the inky darkness...

IC: Treestar wheezed as his paws scrambled agenst the grown. It was so dark...why so dark? The Earthclan leader's proublems and worries flashed before him all at once. It seemed like it would bowl him. His sickness. The Earthclan leader had to calm down before it became too strong once more. "Forestfur? Flashpaw? Is everyone alright?" Treestar asked, attempting to sound more like a leader then a scared kit.

Windgale looked at the apprentice, rather, at the plae she had heard his voice come from.
"Hmmm.. Maybe we can climb back up?" She tested her claws against the dirt, but it crumbled easily. There was no way they were going to be able to climb out of the hole.
"Forestfur," Windgale meowed. "We're certainly not getting up the way we came.. Treestar? what do you think?"

Forestfur looked up at the speck of light shining from way above him. "I think we have to walk the tunnel out. Treestar?" he turned to where he thought his father fell. He couldn't see. His night vision was usually good, but every cat needed some light to guide them at night.
Flashpaw shivered at his father's words. "Do you suppose that the tunnel is very long?" he asked, worried.

Windgale looked worriedly at her leader. He had been really sick lately... was he alright?
"Hmm.. Looks like there's only one way so far," She pointed out, "That way-" She flicked her tail, then realized they probably couldn't see that . "Right ahead." She padded tentatively forward, testing the ground. She recoiled, hissing in distaste. The ground was very slimy and slippery. She waited for either Treestar or Forestfur's reply...

"It is the only way, so I have to objection." Treestar replied, sneezing as the wall he was sniffing crumbled before his nose. "This place is not safe to be in with such loose walls..." The long haired Earthclan leader turned his head in the derection the other cats' voices were coming from before continuing, "Let us leave quickly before something else has the roof falling down on us!" Treestar's voice shook slightly from the shock of falling, and the situation before him.

Rippedtail ran toward the source of the wail. Suddenly her paws didn't touch the ground anymore. She fell into utter blackness. A warm figure broke her fall. (I thought she could fall on her old mentor!)"Hello?" She called. She stood, stepping delicatly off the warm shape. The only think she could see of herself was her single white stripe running down her tail. "Who's in here?"

Forestfur sniffed the air. "Rippedtail?" he called, wrapping a tail around his son, encase the tunnel impaired his nose as well as his eyes. "Is that you?"
Flashpaw mewed, "Hi Rippedtail!" through his father's tail. the beige fur was stuffed into his mouth uncomfortably. He angrily pushed away.

Windgale jumped.
"Rippedtail? Pretty soon the whole Clan'll be stuck in this hole..." She let her frosty demeanor slip for the tiniest of fractions. "Are you okay, Rippedtail? I wonder why this hole wasn't found before....Treestar's right... It is very dangerous to stay here.."

"Umm... I don't know! Sorry Rippedtail. It's hard to see in here." SHe struggled past a couple of cats, whom she identified by scent as Forestfur and Rippedtail. "Ooaf.... Sorry!" She meowed as she stepped on some cat's tail.

"Here...." Treestar coughed, attempting to get his breath back from his old apprentice falling onto him. "You have gotten bigger from the last time you fell on me..." the Earthclan leader mewed as he let his long whiskers feel for Rippedtail. His long light brown tabby fur was barely visible in this darkness.

"Quickly now everyone!" The urgency in Treestar's voice was understandable in this condition. After a few heartbeats, the Earthclan leader picked his way threw the tunnel as well after Windgale. The earth under his paws began to awkwardly slope down-wards. This worried the long haired tabby tom.
