Crowpaw trotted past the the large soaring trees, To his left was the border with Fireclan, and he hissed in disgust upon remembering that. Fireclan was the source of all Waterclan's problems. He wished the alliance had never happened, but an apprentice's opinions didn't count. He sighed, the decision had been made with the safety of the clan in mind, but it didn't make it any easier to bear. He shrugged, and looked around for his brother. He'd lost Cedarpaw awhile ago; The gray tom was probably hunting with Hollypaw..

Dovepaw trudged her way through the trees, her ears flat against her head. She didn't care if she was passing into Waterclan territory, there was an alliance so she could use that excuse. All on her mind at the moment was Silentpaw. He seemed to disappear off the face of the earth, and they had only just met. Dovepaw sighed, Oh well.. she thought. Her ears perked when she heard sound, Waterclan she breathed, crouching to the earth.

Crowpaw sprang at a mouse, unaware of the she cat approaching the borders at the moment. He felled it quickly and buried it beneath the soft brown earth to save for later. The clan could always use freshkill- there was never enough to satisfy every cat. He turned, his paws frozen in the motion of burying as he heard the sound of near silent pawsteps. Was it Cedarpaw? He was upwind, so scents were blown away from him...

(^^ that's okay! ^^ maybe she's looking for Silentpaw? that could be why she crosses the border ^^)

Dovepaw kept her ears back, streaking forward on her belly, staring at Crowpaw carefully, What do you want? she hissed.

Crowpaw's eyes narrowed and his fur stood up, something impossible to see since his fur already stuck up all over. "Funny question to be asking me, Fireclan traitor!" Crowpaw hissed, his eyes blazing with fury as he realized a Fireclan cat was on Waterclan territory. "Just because we're allied doesn't give you the right to tramp all over our territory!" He growled.

Nonsense! Dovepaw scowled, Alliances mean that we can share land and food if we want to. she didn't detach herself from the ground, And I'd hush up if I were you! I'm just looking for a clan mate and I will be on my way! I have no need for territory or food.

Crowpaw's eyes narrowed. "What would your clanmate be doing on Waterclan territory? Wait, don't tell me," He rolled his eyes as he spoke, " 'alliances mean we can share land and food if we want to' Puh-leeeease. Do you Fireclanners like Waterclan so much you're defecting from Fireclan? I seriously could see that happening." He meowed sarcastically..

(*winces* excuse Crowpaw-he's just...well...mean at the moment *winces again*)

Dovepaw glared, I don't know where my friend is! she growled, I haven't seen him in days so don't go making assumptions just because of the whole clan and Waterclan's hatred for us!

Crowpaw was taken aback at Dovepaw's strong words. But it was only temporary. "Fine, look for your friend. But don't think I'm not going to follow you." he shot back. "And dont you think my mom will have a fit if she sees you here?" he added...

Dovepaw rolled her eyes, Like I care who your mother is. she hissed. Walking away, Have you smelled any trace of a Fireclan tom by the name of Silentpaw? she asked Crowpaw, And what is your name?

"My mother's the deputy, so watch your paws!" He spat. Her next words surprised him. "Wha? No, I haven;t smelled another of your kind here." he sniffed. He seemed to have a slight change of heart- like maybe helping her to at least find her friend wouldn't be too bad. Besides, if he helped, she'd find him and get off waterclan that much faster.... "Fine, I'll help you find your friend. "he meowed, his tone less mean now. "My name..is Crowpaw." He forced himself to add, "And yours? Perhaps my brother has smelt your friend." he added stiffly..

I don't care if your mothers a special deputy Dovepaw hissed inside her mind, I'm Dovepaw, and I'm looking for a black tom by the name of Silentpaw.

"Dovepaw, then. A tom named Silentpaw? Um...I've never heard of him, nor smelt him either.. and I can smell Fireclan from a long way off." he meowed, his stiffness evident. "Well, c'mon, ifwe hang out here all day, we'll never find him." He started off following the border line....

(XD wow, Dovepaw's reaction in her mind - me: meeeep!)

Probably never will. Dovepaw thought sadly, following Crowpaw. So why do you hate Fireclan so much? she said stiffly.

Crowpaw looked over his shoulder. "Well, for one thing, your clan forced us to agree to an alliance with you. That doesn't exactly place you guys in the friendly book." He meowed, "Plus....Foxcloud gives me the shivers.. and she stole kits and apprentices from what I've heard. Now, you'll probably argue that it's just Foxcloud, and not you guys, so why should I hate all of Fireclan. But what really gets me is this:" he stopped in his tracks and turned to face her, no fury or hatred in his eyes, simply disbelief. "Why does no one dare stand up to her? I'd give my life to defend my clan and defeat any cat who threatened it. Why are Fireclan so timid and docile when it comes to Foxcloud?"

To save ourselves. Dovepaw said simply walking around Crowpaw, I haven't met her personally, and I don't intend to. she shrugged, If I don't meet her, I don't have to feel guilty about what happens to her, except for the fact that Foxcloud might be able to change. Dovepaw stared at Crowpaw, Would you sacrifice everyone and everything you love, just to face one cat that can kill everything just out of intelligence? Dovepaw whispered. Throughout her words, she pictured Silentpaw, Please don't have it be that in the end case.. she prayed

"If it meant saving my loved ones from harm, then yes," he replied, "I would. If by my death, or whatever I have done, things improve for my clan and loved ones, I would consider the cost nothing." He shrugged. "I would do anything for my friends and family." He fell silent, stirring only when a familiar scent rushed by on the breeze. "Hollypaw and my brother are just up ahead.."

Dovepaw stopped, flattening her ears, Your taking me to OTHERS?! she hissed confused.

"Of course not! Do you take me for a mouse brained fool? You're gonna stay here, while I ask them about any fireclan cats." The grey apprentice meowed, rolling his eyes. "Sheesh...." He stalked off. "She cats..."

He waited a few minutes, then headed down where Cedarpaw and Hollypaw were sparring. Cedarpaw obviously had the upperhand- he was a skilled and talented fighter. Hollypaw was more of a hunter- and she outhunted Cedarpaw everytime, and she didn't seem to mind losing to the silver apprentice.
"Cedarpaw, Hollypaw!" Crowpaw called out, flicking his ears. They were in a clearing, and if Dovepaw was smart, he thought, she'd listen in and hide in a place downwind and where she could see..He felt guilty for not telling his brother and clanmate about a fireclan cat on waterclan territory, but it couldn't be helped- he'd promised to help her find her friend..

Are you crazy? I wan- But Crowpaw was already gone before Dovepaw could finish. Her ears flattened, Maybe I want to talk to some others to. bummed out on the chance of making a friend in Waterclan. She stalked over to a clump of ferns sitting down, Stupid mousebrain thinks he knows everything.Dovepaw muttered.
