Smallkit looked confused, He looked like he saw a ghost! she chirped. She looked at Winterpaw, Should we follow him?

Winterpaw giggled, all knowing. "Who knows in this time of war? Well, except for oath-restricted medicine cats. I'm sure she'll be fine. Did you see Rosefeather sneek off? She looked so sad I felt like instead of annoucing the new leader, she was telling us about a death. I wonder when Dawnstreak will go to the Moonstone, and if she'll take apprentices, or me even. Of course, most of the Clan will have to stay behind to guard the camp, can't tell who's telling what these times." She winked. "Well, I'm just being chatty. Maybe I'm nervous! Hm, probably not, why would I be nervous? Doesn't make sense. Neither does this battle though." She grinned at her own actions.

Dawnstreak nodded at Echostep's explanation. "Yes, I've seen her before." She hesitated. "I'm not leader yet... but..." She looked around for Rosefeather, then her amber eyes closed in pain. She felt like she had taken something from the deputy. Why hadn't Rosefeather become leader? "I see nothing wrong with it. Any friend of SkyClan's in this hour of need..." She flicked her tail instead of finishing her sentence. "We share something in common..." she said softly, thinking of her own past. "You will not really be part of the Clan until I get my name, but until then, consider yourself an honorary member."

Winterpaw chuckled. "No, we'll leave him to his own thoughts. Now, you go ahead and say to Dawnstreak, "Congrats on your new position!" Can you say that? I'll be right behind you." She smiled warmly.

Echostep nodded at Dawnstreak, relieved, and sent a rare smile Kurapelt's way. The she-cat had grown on her--it would have been terribly disappointing (and less interesting around camp, she had to admit) if the ex-rogue had been denied entrance after all this time.

Dawnstreak glanced at Winterpaw, her eyes showing minor annoyance, some things are personal. "I want to know why Rosefeather didn't take the leadership," she said, relenting a little.

Letting out a loud mew of excitement the golden she-cat leaped into the air, landing hard on her paws a few feet away. she didn't seem to notice however as she bound back to Echosteps side, her hazel eyes sparkling.
"Looks like we'll see a whole lot more of each other now huh?"
Not waiting for an answer she reared back on her hind legs, thew her head back and yowled.
Dropping back on all fours she caught Blueclouds angry stare, the black fur along her spin bristled. She whirled away to face Echostep, "he's so annoying" she muttered.
