Mistpaw prepared for Hollypaw's attack. She wouldn't be able to find the apprentice before she struck, so Mistpaw just stayed out in the open.

Hollypaw didn't move for a moment, hoping to worry Mistpaw and keep her guessing as to where she would emerge from. She sat near the base of a tree, slightly behind it. She blended in well; against the ash grey of the bark, Hollypaw could pass for a shadow. She waited a little longer..

Hollypaw crept forward, her paws avoiding any area that would cause noise. She waited for the right moment... and then sprang, holding back a yowl. She didn't want Mistpaw to know where she was, until the last possible moment; and then it would be too late. Or so she hoped. She felt a glow of pride at Eagletalon's words. Maybe she was doing something right, finally! Paws outstretched, Hollypaw would land on Mistpaw's back unless Mistpaw saw her...

Mistpaw had a premonition. She crouched low to the ground, and greatly decreased her surface area. She didn't know why she was compelled to do this, but Mistpaw didn't argue with her intuition.

Hollypaw groaned quietly as her attack failed, and she soared over Mistpaw. She quickly jumped around, so that she was facing Mistpaw, but did this in the space of a second. Hurling herself at Mistpaw, she came in low, hoping to get under Mistpaw and do some 'damage' to her belly, a weak area...

Hollypaw grunted as Mistpaw's paws "scratched" at her belly. She hissed, unable to move away quick enough. She aimed a gentle blow at Mistpaw's head, planning to reverse it at the last second..

Finally! The black apprentice thought to herself. She had never been a good fighter, maybe she was getting better? She leapt at Mistpaw, not wanting her chance to escape. She aimed for Mistpaw's neck....

ooc: Mistpaw's really hurt, because she rolled right into Hollypaw's moving paw, but it's fine that Hollypaw doesn't know...
Mistpaw winced. Pain welled in her chest at every breath that she took. She closed her crystal blue eyes, and relaxed her body.

Eagletalon raced to Mistpaw's side. "What did you do?" he asked. "That doesn't matter, help me get her back to camp." Eagletalon lifted Mistpaw onto one of his shoulders, and waited for Hollypaw to get the other.

Frightened, Hollypaw complied. Quickly, yet gently, she slid Mistpaw's other side onto her back, since she was shorter than Eagletalon. Fear rose in her heart. She hadn't meant to hit so hard! Dear Starclan, she prayed, let Mistpaw be okay! A wave of guilt and shame crashed over her as she hurriedly made her way back to the camp, avoiding all bumps that could injure Mistpaw more..

Dawnflight was padding toward the exit to camp when Hollypaw and Eagletalon appeared. She opened her mouth to meow a greeting, but her eyes suddenly widened when she spotted Mistpaw's limp body. Overcoming her alarm, the white Medicine Cat bounded to their side and immediately began a precursory check of the apprentice.
"Great StarClan, what happened?" Dawnflight asked briskly, and then in a gentler tone to Mistpaw, "Dear, can you answer me? Where does it hurt?"
