"Hmm, I don't know," Mistpaw meowed. She scented a mouse, so she dropped into a hunter's crouch. The mouse's tiny heartbeat got louder and finally Mistpaw could see his tiny brown head. She pounced and killed her prey with a swift bite to the neck. "There I've hunted!"

Hollypaw grinned. "You've caught something already? You're going to leave me in the dust! And besides- that wasn't fair! I was talking to you!" The black apprentices purred teasingly. "But really Eagletalon did want me to come and get you. Who is your mentor? Maybe he agreed to train you for today cuz your mentor's busy?"

"Toxicfang, but she left this morning and not with either of the patrols," Mistpaw meowed, and then nodded in agreement. "I'll meet you back at the camp, hurry back." The small grey she-cat took off running toward the camp.

Hollypaw, bemoaning her short legs, took off after Mistpaw. Toxicfang had taken to disappearing often lately... She wondered why. A few minutes later, she was in the camp, panting a little from her run..

Mistpaw had placed her prey on the pile, and waited for Hollypaw in the clearing. "Ready?" she asked when Hollypaw entered the camp.

"Whenever you are!" She purred, smiling. She quickly licked a patch of fur that was sticking up until it lay flat. "Your dad changes subject really quickly." She remarked to Mistpaw. "Heeey... I wonder what your brothers are doing. Probably scaring the life out of some cat. I thought I heard they were gonna sneak up on another apprentice?" She thought hard for a moment, and then shrugged..

"Yea, and I'm pretty sure that's you," Mistpaw meowed with a joking hint. "They'd never scare me! I'm their only sister, since Cherrypaw went missing..." The little grey she-cat tore off into the woods towards the training spot.

Hollypaw swatted Mistpaw playfully. "Yeah, right. Cedarpaw woudn't attack meee!" She smiled. "But yes, they're very protective of you Mistpaw." She dashed off after Mistpaw. "Hey, wait up speedy!"

Eagletalon heard the approaching apprentices, so when they burst threw the undergrowth, he wasn't surprised. "You guys ready for a little sparing?"

Hollypaw saw Mistpaw's leapt and ducked- a little too late. She grunted as Mistpaw's paws came into contact with her spine. Remembering a trick she'd been taught, she rolled-a surefire way to get an enemy cat off, unless they wanted to be squashed. She'd have to be quick about it though- it left her belly exposed..

Hollypaw barely dodged the move, thinking quickly and rolling aside. She leapt to her paws and scanned the way Mistpaw was standing. Darting close, Hollypaw whipped out a paw, trying to knock Mistpaw's paws out from underneath her..

Hollypaw dove to the side. She'd already tried that, and Hollypaw wasn't going to fall for that again, not if she could help it! Thinking fast, and wishing she was hunting instead, she darted forward and hid behind one tree, steathily making her way around to try and use the element of surprise...
