Ripplestream nodded to Cedarpaw. It was clear he was going to be a good hunter in the future. He fell into a hunting crouch as well, padding away from the apprentice for about three fox-lengths. Then he leapt. When Ripplestream turned back to the apprentice, a watervole dangled from his mouth. He buried it next to Cedarpaw's fresh-kill. A cold wind brushed through his fur, and Ripplestream shivered slightly. "It's getting cold out." He noted aloud. "Won't be long before we start to go hungry."

Cedarpaw nodded grimly, another piece of prey in his jaws. "Yeah...All the more reason for more prey now.." He meowed, wondering when his winter coat would grow in. He shivered slightly. Leaf bare was not a good season for cats... He quickly caught two more mice and a sparrow..

Ripplestream narrowed his eyes, thoughts whipping through his mind like a gale. It almost stung his head. The usually brain-dead warrior tried to avoid thinking this much. He liked to follow and let others do the thinking. But for one reason or another, ideas just flooded into his mind at that moment. "We should make a bunker in camp." He thought aloud, keeping his gaze on the disturbed earth where their prey were buried. "To keep in case everything freezes."

Cedarpaw's ears flicked up. "Hey, that's a really good idea. You mean keep it down under, where it'll stay cold? I've heard prey stays fresh longer when it's kept really cold." He meowed. "You should tell Froststar and Lakeripple." He meowed, intrigued by the idea. It made perfect sense.

Ripplestream shrugged his lithe shoulders, keeping his voice down in case any prey were near by. "I'll tell Rivertail about it." He meowed, green eyes wide for any flickering movement that may suggest prey nearby. "He wants to be deputy someday, and it may help him if he appears smart." Then he lunged, making a small splash as he caught another water-vole near the edge of the river.

Ripplestream tried desperately to hold in his own laughter. Rivertail was an older warrior, and it would be disrespectful if he laughed behind his back. "That's not what I meant!" He meowed sternly. Well, as stern as one could get with a silly grin on his face. "I meant...I meant..." His expression went to confusion. "Actually, I don't know what I meant. But I know I didn't mean for it to be an insult!

Cedarpaw shook his head, still laughing loudly. He couldn't stop- Ripplestream's confusion only made it funnier. He collapsed onto the ground, sides heaving. It was some time before he finally managed to take a breath and calm down. "Ahhh.. That was hilarious!" He grinned.

Ripplestream snorted as he buried yet another vole he had caught while Cedarpaw was laughing. "Not so funny that you have to scare away all the prey!" He chided, a growl in his tone. "It took me a while to get this thing." He patted the disturbed ground where the vole now rested.

The remark stung, but Cedarpaw gave Ripplestream a good natured grin before resuming his hunting. He wondered what Hollypaw was doing.....

Ripplestream gave a small grin back to Cedarpaw. It was impossible not to, his energy was contagious. He turned back to hunting when something shiny caught his eye. It was half-buried in the shallows of the river, and the light that reflected off it was a ruby color. "Hey, I think I found something..." He meowed to Cedarpaw, putting paw near the thing but not really touching it.

Ripplestream used his tail to smack Cedarpaw's tail away from the shiny thing. "Smell, mouse-brain." He growled lightly, gently sweeping away the earth around the strange object. "Two-legs have been upwind recently. This may have floated downstream and buried itself here." He paused in his speaking because he had uncovered much of the thing. It was a ruddy red color, like that of dried blood. It had a small, circular opening at the top of it that widened into a circular base that suddenly broke off into shards. "It could be poisonous, which means the fish we caught wouldn't be very good. Go get either Froststar or Lakeripple. They should know what to do."
((Just to clear up confusion, it's a broken bottle.))

Ripplestrean snorted. "It's not the size of something that counts. Being small means nothing. Example, you and your sister." He turned to smirk at the apprentice. "You two are as small as furballs, yet when I'm done with you, you would be able to shred a badger into flesh and fur." Then his brows furrowed, and he snorted again. "Though, I wouldn't suggest trying it. Now, I believe I told you to go get Froststar or Lakeripple."

Cedarpaw stared blankly at Ripplestream. "You mean Cherrypaw? Hollypaw's not my sister.." he meowed. "My sister's the medicine cat apprentice. But I rarely see her these days... I'm going I'm going!" He yowled taking off for camp. Would Lakeripple or Froststar be there? He thought he smelled a fresh scent, including that of his little brother Crowkit, out in the forest not long ago... He leapt over a small log, and reached the camp...
(gotta wait for Lakeripple or Froststar to reply now! =P I'll tell them if they get on, k?)

Froststar caught her breath quickly, enjoying the run. She saw Ceadarpaw jump in front of her. "Ceadarpaw?" she asked, her blue eyes smiling.

Lakeripple jumped off a tree branch, following her leader. They had been talking when they had heard her son's voice. Flicking her tail slightly, Lakeripple padded back up to Froststar. "So, as I was saying, Brooksplash says Silverpaw is ready to become a warrior, and I think Toxicpaw is too." Then she smiled at Cedarpaw. "Hello Cedarpaw, where's your brother?" She had been sure that Birchpaw was with Cedarpaw... they should be training, because they should become warriors soon as well... and Mintkit and Crowkit should be apprentices.

"Hi Mom!" Cedarpaw said, breathless from his run. "I haven't seen Birchpaw around yet.. did you tell him to join me and Ripplestream? Oh, and Froststar, Mom, Ripplestream found some two leg thing by the river and wanted me to get you."
(Crowkit =3 I gets a mentorrr!! lol!)
