Training at Dawn (Wolfstorm and Painpaw)

Wolfstorm shot Painpaw a mischevious look. "Well, uh... I wasn't known for strictly following the rules." She meowed, eyes gleaming, "but as long as you don't make too much of a habit out of it, it's fine. Everyone needs some distance. As long as you bring back prey, you can have a handy excuse for being out at night too!" She chuckled, remembering, though it wasn't that long ago, her apprentice days...

Painpaw rolled his eyes, This comes from a warrior who has an apprentice. Shouldn't you be telling me to follow the rules? Painpaw gave a small laugh for the first time...

He laughed! Wolfstorm thought joyfully, a grin escaping. "Wellll.... it's better to be truthful, yes? Besides... I always found cats who stuck strictly to the rules to be a bit... well, stuffy. You know what? You should laugh more often, " She meowed..

Painpaw's smile wavered, Ehh...maybe. he said slowly. Turning and stared at the ground. He didn't talk to other cat's much; it wasn't in .... you could say nature

"no maybe about it!" She purred, poking him gently with a paw. "What do you say, want to explore the territory some more? You can always come back here whenever you want." She meowed..

Painpaw nodded, Where are we going next?

"The Lake of Waters and then the Great Marsh." She replied. "One question before we go. You want to get wet or prefer to stay dry?" She meowed, eyes glinting mischeviously.

Painpaw sighed, did Wolfstorm think he was scared of getting wet? I don't care. I don't mind getting wet or getting paw's muddy.

"Okaaaaay! Follow me if you dare!" She mrrowed, grinning. Without another word, Wolfstorm leapt through the curtain of rushing water, taking a deep breath before plunging into the churning lake below. She swum agilely to the surface, and stared up at Painpaw, his image distorted by the waterfall. She treaded water, her silver fur glinting in the sun...

(lol!! Wolfstorm: WHEEEEEEEEE!)

Painpaw slowly made his way down into the water. When his full body was in he shivered, It's cold..... he said softly as his lungs screamed at the coldness near it's sides; Painpaw didn't mind the water it was just that it was cold...who wouldn't be bothered by it? He glanced at his mentor...

Wolfstorm laughed. "How fun was that?!" She crowed, ignoring the water that seeped into her mouth. "C'mon Painpaw, this way next!" With that, Wolfstorm swam like a fish through the waters and onto dry land, where she shook her fur, releasing the excess water. "Whoo! I needed that!" She shook herself again, spraying water everywhere....

Painpaw winced at the small droplet's of cold water hit his soaked fur, For a warrior and a mentor she acts like a kit. he thought, You get amused at anything. he said in a blank voice.

"Well," She shrugged, trying to find the right words to say. "It's a much better existence if you enjoy each day. That's what I do. I mean, I could die right now, I've been granted the gift of life for a second, a minute, and hour longer. So I want to enjoy this amazing world I live in. Life's too short to grumble and complain about life's sorrows. Yes, it's not perfect, I've had some struggles. I'm deaf for one thing. Cannot hear a single sound. There's also a cat who I love, but I haven't seen him in what seems to be ages..but.. everything seems worse when you have a bad attitude." She meowed, looking at her apprentice. "I know you probably think I'm more like a kit than a warrior." She grinned. "That's just my personality."

Painpaw blinked, You're d- he somewhat choked on the word deaf not wanting to be rude. How had she hear him then? It didn't seem like Wolfstorm was deaf..

Wolfstorm smiled. "You can say it, I'm not offended." She mrrowed. "I've gotten very good at lipreading. Haven't you noticed that I usually look at you whenever we talk?" She mrrowed. "I used to worry about not becoming a warrior because of my deafness. I do believe that you, Toxicpaw, and Fuzepaw are the only cats who know I'm deaf. I'd like it to be kept quiet though, I don't want other cats knowing.." She flicked her tail

Painpaw blinked, he knew Toxicpaw was in his clan but they have never spoken, Who's Fuzepaw? he didn't need to ask why she didn't want other cat's knowing; it was simple to understand.

"Ehh... Errr.. He's.aahh." Wolfstorm stuttered, blushing. Why'd she have to say his name in front of Painpaw? She was sooooo dead now. She settled for the simple answer and one that didn't reveal too much. "He's Toxicpaw's brother." She meowed...

Painpaw stared at his mentor for a second (The tension and silence seems like he is on to Wolfstorm lol) and then nodded slowly, Okaay. and began to walk away, his mentor was acting strange...stranger then the strange Wolfstorm was. Painpaw shook his head back and forth, he didn't want to know...

Wolfstorm inwardly sighed with relief. She almost got herself caught there! Fuzepaw was Lightningclan, and she waterclan.. Everycat knew that finding a mate in another clan was forbidden, but... she couldn't help it. She loved Fuzepaw.
"So, Painpaw," she meowed, trying to get the attention off of her. "Have you ever met cats from other clans or been to a gathering yet?"

Painpaw shook his head in the "no" direction, The last gathering I stayed at camp...there isn't anything to do there it's pointless. he looked down, And I don't get along with others all that well.
