OOC: THIS IS THE DEPUTY CEREMONY!!! Your cat can be here, even if he/she is in another thread.
IC: Treestar stretched out his front paws, and let his tail twitch. The tom let his eyes adjust to the moon's light. As the Earthclan leader made his way out of his den, he noticed the occasional glance from his warriors. Treestar frowned, as everything came back to him. Rosefang. The deputy had died. It was horrible. The leader's mind swirled once more, as he tried to think of who could replace the deputy. Rosefang had been a wonderful cat. She was well known, great with problems, and always there when you needed her. Treestar sighed. The light brown tabby had to open up his mind to possibilities. But, who? Treestar hadn't had to do this for many moons.
Anger pulsed threw the leader, as he paced quickly in front of his den. Who? Rosefang had been perfect for the job, and that stupid fox had to take her away. Why had Starclan called away the Earthclan deputy so soon?! Treestar gritted his teeth, and forced back tears. He wasn't sad, just so angry, that he was to tears. He hated that. What kind of leader cried when angry? How can any cat look up to a leader that cries when he is frustrated?
Treestar stopped in mid step. His mind paused, as the leader turned out into the main clearing. Warriors and a few apprentices. They were all doing there normal things. Some forming patrols, some sitting before Rosefang's body, whispering their final goodbyes. And, Treestar was sure, that Rosefang was watching them from the stars. The moon was ready, and awaited to see who the new deputy would be. The elder's looked on, and waited too. They were the ones that had to bring the old deputy's body to its final resting place, and it was clear they just wanted to get it over with. Plus, Starclan wouldn't wait. It had to be done. With a soft sigh, Treestar padded slowly to the foot of the stone. His paws skidded slightly, when his soft pads hit the cold grey surface. Treestar looked down at each warrior. They were all known to him, and his searched his mind to judge which would make the perfect replacement for Rosefang. His mind had to remain open to all the possibilities.
"All cats of the strong enough to fight with the power of the Earth, please come for a very important ceremony." Treestar's normally quiet voice rang out strongly threw his clan's camp. The only thing that now rang out threw the leader's mind, was that his nose was cold because of the leaf-bare air, he hoped that he would pick the right cat, and that he hoped that he had not awaken any sleeping kits in the nursery.
