Goldenrose lay in the clearing, bored and feeling a bit depressed. No one trusted her as she was a forbidden kit from an old clan leader. She wondered why it mattered what her parents did, but apparently it did. She sighed. She was lonely, seeing all the activity and interaction between other cats made her sad. Oh, why did no one talk to her?

Hollykit meandered around the camp, looking bored. She spotted Goldenrose and hopped over to her. "Hi Goldenrose!! Whatcha doing?" the small black kitten meowed.

Goldenrose looked up to see cheerful Hollykit. "oh, Hi Hollykit! I'm not really doing anything, just lying around." Goldenrose mewed. Well, at least kits would talk to her, she thought.

Darkheart padded back into the clearing with some fresh-kill. She dropped it and picked up a vole, carring it to the queens den. She dropped it in front of Hollykit. "Hello Hollykit . . ." she turned her gaze to Goldenrose, "Goldenrose." She looked into the warrior's eyes, but said nothing else. She looks depressed and broken on the inside . . . just like me she thought sadly

Silverpaw gazed at the she-cat named Goldenrose. Her heart felt sympathy for the other she-cat. Silverpaw herself wasn't fully welcomed into the clan. Blinking and shaking it off she up to Goldenrose. It took a lot of courage to want to walk up to the senior cat with how quiet she usually was. "Hi Goldenrose." She mewed in a quiet voice.

Goldenrose looked up and saw two more cats, Silverpaw and Darkheart"Oh, hello you two..." she murmeured, wondering if these cats were just being 'kind' or if the genuinely wanted to talk to her. She yawned and looked at Silverpaw and Dakrheart for an answer.

Silverpaw seemed to purr with amusement at thought of the warrior playing with a kit. "You should try playing with Hollykit." Secretly Silverpaw wished she could play too, just a bit. But she would never find the courage to ask.

" of course i'll play with you Hollykit! What shall we play?" Goldenrose purred. Then she quickly added Would you like to play too, Silverpaw?" she asked Silverpaw. Hey, thats what Goldenrose would want to be asked, so why not ask?

Hollykit frowned in concentration, trying to think of a good game to play. She settled on the good ol' game of hide n' seek tag. "Let's play hide n' seek tag!" She crowed. "YEAH! Come play with us Silverpaw!"

"One, two, three" Hollykit giggled. "Four, five, ten, thirteen seventeen TWENTY! Ready or not, here I come!" The black kitten squealed, taking off. She looked under a bush- nope no Silverpaw or Goldenrose. She hurried over to the apprentice's den and peered in. Would they be hiding here?

Silverpaw had snuck into the elder's den to hide feeling excited like a kit again. She hid in a small corner and hoped Hollykit wouldnt find her.
