Wolfpaw licked Fuzepaw's fur. "Fuzepaw, we're going to get out soon! Moonlitpaw's only trying to help us."SHe fet bad that Fuzepaw and Toxicpaw were fighting. SHe sighed. She leaned against the tom and turned towards Moonlitpaw. "I think there's a button that opens our cages..." Wolfpaw replied, watching the conversations. "I saw one of the two legs push something on that panel over there when they opened our cages to put us in those dreadful glass things." She meowed. "I don't know which one though.." The silver she cat hung her head.

Fuzepaw glared at blackness. He was mad and hated his sister. How could she say that?! How could she say that so easily?! She was my sister! Why?! he thought angrily Fuzepaw could feel his eyes start to water. He shook his head, letting the droplets fly off of his eyes. He didnt calm down, even when Wolfpaw pressed against his pelt.
Toxicpaw still had nothing to say to anyone. She watched Fuzepaw through blury eyes. It looked like he was crying, but it was hard to tell. Her tail lashed, not knowing what to say . . . More floods of tears came.
Nightpaw had nothing to say or do. *Sigh* "We need to get out . . ." he whispered softly

Moonlitpaw glanced at the buttons. "There is a green one and a red one. The red one has a picture of a choking cat on it... I don't think that will free you. The green one is blank. Shall we have a go?" She blinked softly at Wolfpaw, the only one who seemed to have not lost her head.

Wolfpaw nodded. "Moonlitpaw!" She whispered. "Thanks. For rescuing us, I mean." She smiled at the FireClan apprentice. "Nothing can be worse than this, so push the button whenever you're ready!" She said, trying to be cheerful. She was afraid, but being afraid wouldn't help them get rescue. She turned back to Fuzepaw. "Don't you think you should forgive your sister?" She meowed gently. "She really loves you, you know. She really didn't mean what she said- we all say things we don't mean from time to time." She rubbed her cheek on Fuzepaw's and waited, taking a deep breath as she watched Moonlitpaw..

Fuzepaw didnt respond to Wolfpaw. I know she didnt mean it, but it still hurt. he thought sadly *Sigh* His sightless gaze turned to where Wolfpaw's scent was. "I . . . i cant just yet. Im sorry, Wolfpaw, i just cant." He turned his head away, not saying anything else.
Toxicpaw shook her head back and forth. "Give him time, he'll forgive you soon enough." A voice whispered in her ear. She turned to see that it was Nightpaw. Toxicpaw shook her head in the "no" direction. She then turned to Moonlitpaw, the tears gone. "Wait!" she comanded, "Dont touch anything yet. Let me think . . ." she started to ponder
Nightpaw watched Toxicpaw struggle. He shook his head back and forth. He leaned over to her, and whispered, "Give him time, he'll forgive you soon enough." He watched her shake her head in the "no" direction. *Sigh* Then he let her speak and ponder by herself. Will we ever get out? he thought, shaking his head again

Wolfpaw just licked his fur soothingly, understanding his hurt. He had been shunned by so many others because of his blindness and now his own sister had used it against him. It would take awhile before he was truly over it. She watched Toxicpaw, but missed what she had said about the button. She wondered what Toxicpaw was thinking. "You can go ahead." She meowed, not knowing Toxicpaw had said to wait.

Toxicpaw looked at Moonlitpaw sternly. "No! Do not push the botton until i say so." she warned She turned to face Wolfpaw. "I said not to yet Wolfpaw, hold off." she said flatly She knew Wolfpaw wouldnt understand her tone, so it didnt matter how she said it. She made sure, however, that she looked comanding. She turned away, thinking again. How did our parents do it! I know we got out another way then just pushing a botton! Think Toxicpaw, think! she shouted into her mind
Nightpaw flinched away from Toxicpaw for a second. She sounded comanding and cruel for a second. He watched her think, staring at the other cats. "Um . . ." was all he said

Moonlitpaw gave a low hiss of frustration, but went to hide behind the boxes. She watched as the twolegs walked into the room. They certainly looked irritated. Behind them walked a male twoleg, his face blank.
Tom followed the scientists. They never gave up did they? Cats, man those girls were stupid! Cats were meant to sleep all day in a windowsill until a small girl came up and pet them. He blissfully thought back to his house where he was sure that his daughter, Lisa, was playing with Frisky, her cat. He looked at the new cats, and started. They looked half drowned! He tried not to immediately demand the scientists to set the cats free. He nodded to them. "So you spoke true. Don't start the experiments today, you need a grant. If it doesn't come it twenty days, release the creatures." He was going to personally make sure the grant never came. Yet he couldn't tell them to let the cats go immediately. Against procedure and all. Just hope the scientists would feed the poor animals during the time period.

Audrey rolled her eyes at Tom. Sissy . . . she thought silently She pulled out a paper, showing it to him. She smiled evily. "Dont worry, we already got it. Isnt that great?" she added mockingly
Fuzepaw lifted his head at the twoleg's voices. *Hiss!* He wanted to claw thier eyes out. Let's see if you like being blind! he thought venomoulsy
Toxicpaw looked over at Fuzepaw when he hissed. She opened her jaws to say something, but then snapped it shut. She was afraid he would get angrier with her.
Nightpaw looked at the new twoleg closely. He walked over to the door, trying to get a better look at him . . .

Wolfpaw heard nothing of what the man said, but she instinctively knew he was a good two leg. She hoped he could do something about the bad two legs. She moved closer to Fuzepaw's side and glared angrily at the two female scientists...
Anne rolled her eyes. Bleeding heart She thought sarcastically. She wished the touble maker would stay out of her way. "Yeah, We've got the grant, so getta outta our way loser!" She huffed at him. "Why're you here anyways??"

Tom was angry that they had a grant. What was the department thinking? He pulled his black eyebrows together, thinking desperately of a way to hamper these to awful scientists. Quickly, he snatched the grant. "Ha!" he said happily, pointing to it. "Right there! It says that this grant is to be used by the Department of Investigation. The ones that protect the animals. I don't know where you got this, but there has been a grave mistake. You see, I am the Head of the Department of Investigation." He hoped feebly that the girls would take his word for it. It really said, 'To be used by the Department of Investigation or the Department of Genetic Mutations.' They were of the latter department.

Anne blanched. She read it again, (missing it again and grabbed Audrey's arm. "WHAT?? Those treacherous backstabbers!! How could they do that to us? To ME??" She shrieked. " C'mon! We've got a score to settle! I'll get my grant if it's the last thing I do!" Anne stomped out of the room, dragging Audrey behind her...
