Bristlefur padded into camp her tail held high, the night was seeping over the camp, the other cats preparing them selfs for sleep. But she was not tired, and so she made her way over to the fresh-kill pile. Snagging a small but plumb mouse out from the pile and carrying it to a small corner. And as she bent to eat, her eyes unwillingly went to the camp entrance waiting for Redwing to appear.

Redwing eventually stalked into the camp, his pelt still bristling with hostility. Stupid she-cat. Bristlefur had ruined his day. Or maybe he just wanted to pretend that. Either way, the ginger and white tom trounced over to the freshkill pile, trading his two mice for a small, fat vole.
Turning in a huff, he caught sight of Bristlefur's eyes gleaming through the descending darkness. He glared back at her angrily, but since no one else was around and the night was becoming a bit chilly, he sighed and padded up next to her. Redwing flopped down a few pawsteps away, dropping his meal to glance at her warily.
"... Truce?" He finally offered, both his ego and his fur deflating. He was too hungry to argue want to argue anymore (at least for a while), and, without waiting for her answer, turned back to begin gulping down his vole.

Bristlefur watched Redwing's every step as he entered the camp, her ears flattening when he padded toward her. Her first thought was that he would make a smart remark before padding away to go and eat his vole, but it surprised her when he dropped th evole and offered her a truce. Now it was her turn to regard him wearily. Was thins a trap, a tirck of some sorts. She shrugged off the thoughts, nodding her head to him in agreement. "Truce" She meowed before digging into her own food. Her eye's constantly darting back to Redwing, expecting him to pull some kind of prank. Finishing off her mouse she sat up swiping her tongue over her whiskers and maw. So opened her mouth to speak but stopped deciding she liked the silence. She turned her gaze to the sky, staring out at the darkened sky and the darker clouds that floated over head.

Redwing grunted at her response, finishing off his vole in a few, quick bites. Sitting back on his haunches, the young tom glanced over at Bristlefur. He'd noticed her watching him while they ate; probably expecting him to make some sort of trouble.
Typical.
Golden eyes narrowing, he pointedly turned his gaze toward the sky. They softened when he glimpsed a few stars that peeked out from the few gaps in the clouds, twinkling brightly. Redwing's expression became peaceful as he watched the sky, almost sad. He couldn't really blame anyone if they thought of him as blunt and mischievous--he'd always had a mind of his own, even his parents would have admitted that. But surely that wasn't the only thing other cats noticed about him?
Redwing sighed and let that thought drift away. Instead, he kept his eyes back to the tiny pricks of light in the darkened sky, and to the moon that cast ripples on the clouds. Vaguely, he wondered if his sister, Pinekit, was watching him from StarClan.
"What do you see?" He found himself asking aloud, not quite sure if he meant whether or not she only saw his temper, whether Pinekit really could see him, or just what shapes Bristlefur could find in the dark clouds. "... In the clouds, I mean." He adding, quickly deciding that he meant the last option and keeping his gaze locked on their dark shapes.

Bristlefur keep her gaze locked firmly on him, his questions taking her by surprise. What she thought about....the clouds? With a relaxed sigh she glanced up at the sky and smiled, she was usually guarded and very easily angered around others but when the clouds and the sky were mentioned the deeply buried her surfaced. "The clouds.....I love the clouds, each one so different and unique, each one holding...." she stopped realizing she had just blurted out things she only thought to herself. Freezing she turned her gaze to Redwing, hoping he would not comment on it.

The ginger tom cat glanced at Bristlefur, but wasn't in the mood to retort anymore. He was tired from hunting, and the sky... Redwing turned his gaze back to the sky, a pang of loss striking his heart. Again, he found himself agonizing over whether or not he could have done something to save his little sister.
"Me, I like the stars best." He replied quietly, his voice bland and lacking emotion. He growled at himself internally. Why did he have to go and get all nostalgic and sad? That was so unlike him, rude, loud Redwing, and he desperately wanted to go attack something to get his blood pumping, to "wake himself up." The young warrior simply sighed though, as his hunt today had exhausted him, and he didn't feel like moving from that spot until dawn.

Bristlefur didn't comment when he said he liked the stars better, the stars were beautiful to but....her eyes slide from the sky to Redwing. He, was like her in some ways wasn't he? Always blunt and angry, she glanced away quickly. They weren't alike, they were far from it. The star's are pretty....But you..they.." she stopped herself from continuing her fur prickling in embarrassment. Turning away from his she stared out across the camp, staring at anything but Redwing. She had just been about to admit that he wasn't that bad of a cat. Her reputation would have been ruined if she'd said that, and she couldn't have that. Could she?

ooc: I hope I can join, but are Bristlefur and Redwing going to be mates? If they are, I can see that they don't really like each other, but Darkpaw, medicine cat apprentice could read a sign in the clouds that they were meant for each other. Only if they are going to be mates...

OOC: Honestly, I haven't really thought about what I was going to do with Redwing plot-wise. ^^' Kura and I would have to talk about it... Thanks though! IC: Redwing tore his gaze from the sky to look back at Bristlefur, blinking his golden eyes several times in confusion. "Er, okay..." Shifting so that he lay on his side, the ginger tom peered back up at the stars, only glancing back at the she-cat once or twice curiously. While he wondered what she was thinking about, their glittering light almost seemed to reflect in his eyes, dimming when the clouds passed in front of them. His ears twitched irritably. This wasn't the best night for star-gazing.

OOC: bristlefur is somewhat of a loner, i don't think she'd ever settle down, but maybe her and Redwing can become like really good friends?
IC: Bristlefur layed sprawled on her back peering up a the cloudy sky, her eye lids drooping heavily. Usually she would have gotten to her paws and headed toward the warrior's den but she did not. Instead she continued to stare up into the sky, fighting off the sleep that threatened to take over her. She wanted to stay away and gaze at the clouds she loved almost more then life itself. Sighing with contentment she rolled onto her side, facing Redwing. She hadn't even meant to ask but as her mouth opened the words just seemed to tumble out, "why do you act the way you do? always blunt and angry like. Is it because thats who you are.....are is it because you pushing others away?" Her own eyes widened at her questions, the lack of food she had eaten today must be going threw her head. What was she thinking? It wasn't her place to ask such questions! But she felt no regrets only anticipation as she waited in hopes he would answer.

OOC: That works. I'd take a while for him to warm up to her though... ^^
IC: Redwing had nearly fallen asleep, his head drooping onto his chest and his eyes flickering.
"Hmm? What?" The tom mumbled groggily, his cloudy thoughts trying to process what Bristlefur had asked. Then his copper eyes snapped wide, and he turned to glare at her as though he were about to claw her ears off. "What? That's none of your business!"
Growling to himself, he flopped onto his side, turning his back to the she-cat and laying his head on his paws. His ginger ears were pinned as he glowered into the distance, and his tail thumped angrily against the ground. The young warrior lay like that for a long time, silent and unmoving until the moon was high in the sky.
Then, surprising himself, he spoke. "It's because that's who I am, and..." The tom-cat paused, brows furrowing and claws digging into the soft earth, "... and it's because I care."
Mentally clawing himself, the ginger and white cat grunted as he curled into a ball, tightly wrapping his tail about his body and pulling his legs close. After that, he tried to ignore Bristlefur by burying his nose into his pelt, but he could still feel her gaze boring into his back.

Bristlefur glared at Redwings back, getting to her paws and padded quickly away. Her fur raising and her claws digging into the earth. "You didn't have to snap," she hissed over her shoulder as she made her way for the warriors den. Settling down into her moss nest, she wrapped her tail over her nose. Closing her eyes for sleep, but sleep would be a long time coming. She didn't blame Redwings response she would have said the same thing. But that didn't mean she had to like it. She let out a huff, forcing the thoughts from her mind she hoped sleep would take her soon.
OOC: yeah it'll take awhile for bristlefur to get used to him to. hey do you want the two to go one a huting protal in the morning? we can have some other cats join, if someone's willing to let there cats join that is.

OOC: Sure. IC: Redwing just growled, curling up into a tighter ball as he listened to her pawsteps fade. Nosy she-cat, he thought to himself angrily, fighting back the urge to feel guilty, Wasn't any of her business. He lay there for what seemed like hours, his ginger fur fluffed up against the chill of the night. The stubborn tom refused to follow Bristlefur to the warriors den--he was not going to spend the night having her glare at him the entire time. Huffing to himself, he flicked his tail over his nose and prepared for a long night under the stars.

Silentpaw awoke in the apprentice den and tiptoed into the warriors den, to find his mentor. There was a few cats sleeping and Bristlefur was one of them. He pushed her with his paw gently and meowed, "Can you ask burningstar if i could go on the dawn patrol. Please!" He knew he was being annoying, but wasn't apprentices supposed to be like that? Still, it wasn't himself...
