Teaching Lionpaw

[Rosefeather]

Rosefeather walked over to a small uprise in the camp. "Tell me what you see when you look at these cats." she said. She flicked her tail a few times as she waited for his answer.

Lionpaw's tiny black paws worked hard to keep up with his new mentor. Even though she was walking he still fell behind couple of times. As he approached her he flopped down and flicked his tail as a small beetle crossed under his paws. Snarling he swatted at it and then looked up at his mentor as she asked him about all the cats in the camp. "Well..." . Searching and scanning the area he saw apprentices play fighting probably to work on battle technique he saw cats sharing tongues and other talking. "Well they all get along and the apprentices I notice are always on patrols or training but when they aren't doing that they are practicing,some or sharing tongues and other are talking" . Lionpaw's gaze flicked up to his mentor he wanted to know what was going on with Winterpaw. Trying his best to push it to the back of his head he looked at his black paws and up again. "Their all working together as a clan" .Hoping he was right he drew a paw over his left ear and around his face to actually see if he were right.

"I don't mean as indivisuals. When you look at the warriors, what do you see? A bunch of fighters, or cats who would die to protect eachother?" Rosefeather flicked her tail again.

Lionpaw squinted his eyes getting a closer look at the cats around him. His black white stained face was moving around and his small whiskers twitched. "Yah...hey thats right, cause the warrior code say that you have to defend your clan even at the cost of your life...right" . Flicking his tail he watched as a small butterfly began to fly around his nose. Sneezing he swatted at it and watched it fall to the ground. Looking at the apprentice den he saw them stop fighting and look at him. He wasn't to found of them all they did was laugh at him. Letting out a sigh Winterpaw came to his mind again he was desperate to know what was wrong with her. Flopping to the ground he looked to his mentor again. "When do I get to fight" ? Resting his head on the ground for awhile he then got up once more and moved his paws awkwardly on the ground he was itching to go out of the camp walls and try and fight, just to get his anger and troubles away. Moving up and down he shuffled in his spot as he tried his bes to hold two things in.

OOC: eh i haven't seen Rosefeather here in... a few days. XP

IC: Emberfrost stalked by with a sparrow and 2 voles clamped firmly in his jaws. the warrior tom's white fur was streaked with layers of orange, and under the sun, it made him look too bright, unlike most cats. he dropped his kills onto the freshkill pile and sat down, giving his pelt a couple of licks. he spotted Rosefeather teaching her new apprentice; was it Lionpaw?

"Hey, how're you guys doing?" he asked, coming over to them. he usually didn't get into other cat's business, but there weren't many other cats around today; probably all hunting because of the good weather for once this moon. his muscles moved smoothly under his thickening pelt until he stood right in front of the two smaller cats.

Lionpaw swiveled his ears as he herd the soft sound of pads. He opened his jowls and tasted, it was cat and he looked up at the muscular Tom. He smiled as he could see the toms muscles flex. He had never seen this cat before but then again he was new around here and their was little he DID know about. Shaking his tiny head he dipped and bowed to the tom. "Hi ya, my name is Lionpaw...you probably knew that though,whats your name" . Jumping up and down as if he were jumping on his toes he laughed and rolled over. He knew very well he should have asked his mentors permission first but she seemed to be zoned out.

Looking back at the brute he only smiled and puffed out his chest. He tried to copy his walk trying to make his own muscles flex...but it didn't work out to well. He sneezed as dust came into his nos and wrinkled it up. Lashing is tail he watched as a moth flew by his face and drew a paw taking it down with one swift swipe. How he would love to have a tom as his mentor,then he could talk about manly stuff,but Winterpaw was different with that he liked her and he couldn't help but frown as he thought about her. The way she just ran off like that and never told him.

Shaking his head once more he darted back toward his mentor and the other male. His brilliant blue gaze eying them,just waiting for their replies.

the white tom smiled down at the apprentice; he was so young and carefree, only beginning his training. "My name is Emberfrost," he meowed and sat, and watched Lionpaw. "Don't worry I'm sure you'll have problem training to become a great warrior," Emberfrost could see the excitement and confidence in the young tom, and it had a promise in him.

Lionpaw looked up to Emberfrost and nodded. He didn't really understand what he said but he only took it in. "Why can't you be my mentor....cause I think Rosefeather is in trance or something she won't come out of it" . He knew it was wrong to complain and ask for a new mentor but it was true rosefeather had tough him nothing yet. Sighing he looked down at his jet black paws and whimpered slightly. He wanted to learn how to hunt and fight, he wanted a great strong mentor. Jumping up so he old try and look into rosefeathers eyes he smirked and sat back only twitching his tail showing his anger.

Emberfrost glanced over at Rosefeather before turning his eyes back to the young apprentice. "She seems... a little busy at the moment." he meowed hesitantly; he never questioned the deputy or leader. "i could take you out for a while if you want." he licked a paw and drew it over his head. he'd never had an apprentice before, but he could try, right? besides, Lionpaw seemed restless, and if he just took him out to teach him how to hunt a little maybe it'll be ok...

Linpaws little blue eys stretched wide as Emberfrosts words echoed in his ears.Gasping he stuck his tail in the air and let out an excited mewl as if he were a kit that had just played with a mse ball. He glanced to Emberfrost and then to his aws and began to jump up and down. He never knew that his menotr was the deputy either that she told her and he just didn't care or wasnt't listening. Sighing she darted to his side and closed his eyes and darted for the camp exit.

Emberfrost smiled to himself and gave a respectful nod to Rosefeather before padding after the agile apprentice. "hey u're pretty fast" he meowed as he caught up later, since it was much easier for a larger cat to take huge steps. "remember that you can use any skills against ur enemies." he hissed, his voice careful and low enough only for Lionpaw to hear. he was dead serious that he should know his talents and use them against the other clans.
"ok, i'll leave most of the training to ur real mentor, but i'll just show you a little bit of hunting and fighting today, alright?" he said, still walking beside Lionpaw as the two approached the small clearing in the middle of Skyclan's forest.
