OOC: *note: Training for Acornpaw, but if you REALLY want to, anyone can come on in. =3
IC: Dewpelt waited patiently on a high tree branch in the dense, dark forest. although it was just dawn, the sun was climbling into the sky, causing the thick leaves of the trees to cast dark shadows across the ground. it was almost green-leaf, yet the air was still cool and the strong winds ruffled the warrior's brown fur. his tail dangled from his branch as he watched intently for his apprentice to arrive. he told Acornpaw of their training the night before, to meet him in the forest. he didn't tell her that he'd be watching from a tree, though, and wondered if her tracking skills were getting good enough to track him down. there was another breeze, carrying the scent of new leaves and fresh grass. Dewpelt took in a deep breath, enjoying his peaceful time in the forest, then turned his attention back to the ground, his green eyes searching for signs of his apprentice.

Ok, finally finished! ;D
Padding towards the forest, Acornpaw couldn't help but feel cheerful inside. She felt that a new start was beginning in her life for the first time. Oddly, it was a feeling that she had never felt before. She listened carefully for any sounds of danger that might lurk from behind any trees or bush. Strangely, she felt that something seemed to be wrong. Although there were sounds of scattering prey around her-which was normal-she felt confused. It was as if, something was hidden from her, that she was suppose to find? She couldn't put her tongue on it. She stopped and closed her eyes with her ears alert. Then a sudden gust of thoughts wept through her and she meowed silently with alarm. Balancing with four paws to kept herself from falling, she instantly turned her head to direction where the strong thoughts were pointing from. With alarm, she could see Dewpelt sitting on the branch looking at her.

Dewpelt's eyes went wider when Acornpaw spotted him from below his branch. although that was what he hoped, he didn't see his apprentice even draw in his scent... how did she know he was there when she didn't scent him?
the surprise didn't last for long, and the tom shook the thought away. he stood up on his branch and grinned down at the brown she-cat. "come on up" he purred, flickering his tail. he was going to give her some tree climbing lessons, and maybe how to chase squirrels and pounce on birds from above. that would be an interesting change.
the thing is, he was a little worried about Acornpaw's warrior ceremony being prosponed. two of the other apprentices who were younger than her have already became warriors. and she was already of warrior age, but because of some recent events he wasn't able to train her well enough. his grin didn't seem so real as he sighed, blaming himself for it all.

Although she had 'accidently' found Dewpelt hiding on the tree branch, she couldn't help but find herself feel guilty as she could see a slight surprise in Dewpelt's eyes. Bits of Dewpelt's thoughts weaved into her mind and his thoughts about herself stung her. Was she suppose to find him? NO. Had she scent him? Definently NOT. Crying silently inside that she had cheated, that she cheated to not only her friends, but her mentor, Dewpelt. She sighed and padded to the tree trunk with slight nervousness. Ignoring the 'cheating accident', she took a deep breath, wondering if or if not should she climb up the trees. After all, she was afraid of heights.
OOC: Arg...this post is definently not RIGHT.

"never mind that. well, come on up!" Dewpelt purred. "as you might have guessed, part of our training today is to work on your tree-climbing skills." he flickered his tail, motioning for Acornpaw to climb up the tree she was standing under.

Taking a deep breath, she started climbing up, careful not to let her mentor know her weakness. With her right paw, she placed it on the branch and with the other, she placed it over it. Again and again, she repeated the steps, Right paw, then Left paw, Right paw, then Left paw. Repeating it silently in her head as well, she looked in awe as she had finally reached the branch that Dewpelt was lying upon. OOC: This is another rushed post.

"Not bad," Dewpelt purred as Acornpaw finally reached where he sat waiting. "We'll have to train you to dash up a tree though," he murmured, almost to himself. She took kind of long, but he didn't want her to feel bad about it.

Acornpaw gave her mentor a sheepish look. She heard his soft mummer and she knew that he was pointing that to her. She was couldn't help but wail inside "It's alright. This pace is good enough. Don't need to be faster. RIght?" or "No....I can't. I....don't wish to be faster" But whatever and however she wanted to express was impossible. She didn't want her mentor to feel bad and worse of all, to hate her.

"Ok, first thing. do you know how to get down? u can never be stuck on a tree like a kit, no matter how safe it feels. u'll have to get down eventually, so might as well know it. would u like to give it a try?" he asked, not knowing the fear isnide Acornpaw's mind.
