A large crash came from outside of the cave. a small jet black kit was awoken by cries of terror as another and another came. A small body wiggled next to him. "What’s gong on?" the small kit mewed softly to the jet black one. "Hush sister! Were is mother?" the older kit mewed. Cats were running wildly in all direction. Suddenly something clamped around his small body, and the male kit was on the run. As he looked up, he noticed that his mother was carrying him away from the home cave. Then everything went black.
Skywalker awoke quickly, and looked around wildly. The night was dark, just like on that horrible day. "Concentrate...." the jet black tom growled to himself. He HAD to remember what happened, and were he had come from.
As the image of the storm came back, so did the jaws clamped around his tiny kit body, his mother, and then his sister, who was running right behind them. Neither of them said a word. Another loud crash went off, and the older kit's eyes widened as he watched a crinkled line of light erupt from the dark black clouds, and smashed harshly into the group of trees and brambles near the home cave. Then, there was a explosion of light and sparks. Red and orange waves slowly came from the darkness, and ignored the harsh rain that pounded the land. It was like everything this kit had known so little about, was being destroyed before his eyes. All the trees and forestry around the large cave erupted into bright, hot waves. Even the home cave was covered in it, and fleeing cats yelled in terror. His friends, family, tribe-mates. They all ran far away, and in different directions.
His mother leapt over fallen tree branches, and dodged tipping boulders and maybe a mudslide or two. Everything was against them. Not to long after they left, she took up his sister in her jaws too. Possibly so she would know that she was safe and able to catch up and dodge what needed to be dodged. Suddenly, just when everything seemed fine, a large rumbling noise came. It was soft at first, but then suddenly it seemed loud, and right next to his small ear. Looking behind his mother, from her jaws, he could make out something blue and brown in the background. It moved freely, and crashed threw trees, and pulled them with its foamy waves. As it grew closer, the young jet black kit gasped. Water. It was the largest wave he had ever seen, and it was coming for them. His mother must have noticed this, for she ran faster. But, it was not enough, and soon it swept them up in its dark waves.
The young tom felt a tear or two roll down the side of his cheek fur. He knew this part all too well.
"Mother?" the small jet black kit chirped. The sound of water was still clear, but the rain and flashes of light seemed farther on in the background. Everything was black. No stars were in the midnight sky. Even the moon was hidden behind the clouds. His fur was covered in mud, water, and odd objects that the water must have held in its strong grasp.
The sound of wet paws on smooth stone made the kit's ears prick. "My kit....oh....my kit....you-.." his mother's normally sweet voice that once sung in his ears was broken by a watery cough. "You must leave." The words finished, but still confused the young kit. "But mother, I don't know where to go. I don't even know were I am." the jet black kit chirped weakly. Each breath seemed like there was a watery rattling in his chest. "You will know. You are my little Skywalker." The kit had no name yet, and he was not supposed to until he was at least a few more moons older.
Suddenly, there was a slight bump on Skywalker's small jet black flank. His mother was nudging him. "Will you come too, mother?" The small kit asked, as he weakly rose to his paws, and looked in the direction the bump had come from. His eyes could only make out the outline of his mother. She was leaned over a smooth, but large rock that jutted out of the ground. The figure grunted, and the sound of wet paws on stone came once more, as his mother tried to force herself from the spot. The sound of water, but this water was darker, and ran slower then it should over the stones. With a thud, his mother was back on her stomach.
"I....I can't my young Skywalker. You must go on without me.....and....your sister. Please, we will be fine." these words were filled with pain as the dark water continued to roll down the stones. It was like its own little river, but was only there for a bit. The small river of it thinned out, as a soft moan came from Skywalker's mother. The young kit felt tears roll down his already wet fur, as he place his small black nose on his mother's flank. "I don't want to go....I....I love you....mother..." those were the last words Skywalker whispered to his mother, before padding sadly into the darkness. Then, the memory was gone.
The young jet black tom gritted his teeth as he fought back the tears. The memory was clearer now, but it told him nothing of were he had come from. "Oh....mother....why did this had to happen? If only you were here right now, you would know what to do...." Skywalker meowed sadly to himself. His voice had a slight exeunt to it, but his sobbing was the same as any other cats. The young loner had to face it.......
............He was alone........
