Moonlitpaw leaped to her paws and yowled her approval. "Foxcloud! Foxcloud!" When no one else joined in, she glared steadily around. "Well?" she hissed.

Burningstar watched the clan's reaction. it seems like only a few approved, and the only excited cat was Moonlitpaw. that got him a little worried. was this a good choice?

Foxcloud was greatly shocked when Burningstar called out her name. Her red ginger fur twitched slightly as cats looked at her suddenly, only some of them calling out her name. The she-cat ignored the congrats from Friemist, for it must have had a hint of bitterness in the words. As the warrior's eyes rolled over the crowed of slight frowning faces, she spotted a tom in a front row, that was whispering harshly to another. It was about her, Foxcloud guessed. The she-cat frowned at the tom, then bared her long front-right fang at him defenceivly. A harsh and low snarl rumbled from her throught. Would a cat dare challange her? Foxcloud wasn't scared of it happening. She would fight for the right to prove she is loyal. Foxcloud turned to Burningstar, and gave him a respectful nod, noticeing that the tom was now wide eyed and mouth open at what Foxcloud's reaction had been. "I will protect this clan with my life." And make those who challange us feel as though they are already in the world of Demonclan. Foxcloud added in her mind, as she noted every face in the crowed that was now frowning at Burningstar's choice for deputy.

Burningstar was a little intimidated by the reactions of most cats in FireClan. would they really challenge his choice up right? "it is StarClan's word. Foxcloud is the deputy and she has earned her right to prove her worth." his voice was strong. he truly believed that his warrior ancestors spoke to him to choose Foxcloud as his deputy, and later sucessor. there was no doubt in his mind that she was the right choice.
however, Starclan actually meant it as a warning...
