Burningstar woke up at dawn, and stretched his limbs. it had been a crazy day yesterday: at sun-high, he found out how Evermist never had time to mentor her apprentice, Berrypaw, so he had a ceremony to take him as his own apprentice now. then there was last night: the gathering went horribly wrong, and every clan had to go back early because the moon was covered.
after giving his dark ginger pelt a couple of licks, the clan leader strolled across the cold clearing and poked his head into the apprentice den. "Berrypaw" he whispered, though loud enough for him to hear. "get up for training" he announced before going back out. the ground was coated with frost, and the air was close to piercing through his thickening fur with the cold.
leaf-bare was coming.

Berrypaw couldn't sleep again he couldn't wait for his new mentor.Since Evertime didn't really have time for him has the leader as him mentor!!He was so excited.Plus he was excited about kelppaw maybe rejoining the clan!so much exciting stuff has been happening.But he didn't get to go to the gathering.He heard that alot of cats began to dissapper!so he was ready to get training.He has been so ready to be a warrior wgich he knew was a long ways away but he was all ready for the challenge. ooc:thanks you so much for this kat!!  |

"berrypaw," Burningstar meowed after giving his fur a couple of licks. "we're going to try out your battle skills today. i expect you've visited the whole territory, at least, with Evermist, right? so let's get on with the more exciteing training today." the clan leader grinned. he wasn't a very serious cat, unless it had to do with his clan's well-being. he hadn't had an apprentice in quite a while since he'd been appointed deputy of FireClan, and he hoped he hadn't lost his touch to become friends with the apprentice instead of simply a mentor. that way, we would be able to truly understand Berrypaw, and it'll be easier to communicate with each other.

All right! Berrypaw couldn't hold his excitment anymore.Before he knew it he was jumping and having a blast.But he knew that he had to stop to save his energy and not make Burningstar mad.Berrypaw tried to be as calm as possible.he had only had one warriors training and it was a real battle.He still had some nightmares about it.But he tried to forget about it.He was on a new start now.With a new mentor. He was ready to start training.

"allright," Burningstar meowed cheerfully, sensing Berrypaw's excitement. "let's go to the sunning stones today. i'll teach you how to fight on uneven surfaces." he grinned and pelted out of camp with a surprising speed. he expected his apprentice to keep up, or at least try. "come on you can do this" he called behind him but kept going, his strong paws thumping on the hard, cold ground.

Berrypaw was so excied that he started to run ahead of Burningstar.He couldn't wait to get there.It was like everything was coming together.Kelppaw might come back to the clan.He might have his mate back.Berrypaw then with out warning stoped. He smelled something he didn't know what it was but whatever it was it was coming closer.Burningstar was out of sight though.Berrypaw was now panicking.He was now running back as he was trying to spot burningstar.He then saw a great big wolf in the bushes.Berrypaw ducked into a bush.He didn't know if the wolf had sented him.Berrypaw was waiting but he didn't know for what...

Burninstar was surprised at how fast Berrypaw could run, and soon the apprentice was out of view. the leader slowed down and scented the air; everything seemed normal where he was standing. he smiled to himself; Berrypaw is such an active apprentice. he would be a great warrior to the clan one day. as Burningstar started pelting after him again, a sudden, strong scent hit him like a boulder. WOLF he hurried, hoping Berrypaw was alright. how could there be a wolf on FireClan territory? they usually only appeared around Stone Peaks, which was very far from here. he could only hope he'll get there in time, and that the 2 would be able to take on such a large, strong animal...

Berrypaw was still croughed down and was rwady to run.But the wolf was now getting closer.Berrypaw could tell that this wolf was old.He could now see Buringstar.He was looking for him.So berrypaw now was getting ready to run.He got ready then ran as fast as he could.He then saw buringstar getting closer.He felt the hot air coming closer and closer...He ran up to him and they ran together.Berrypaw was glad to have Burningstar as his mentor.But there still was a chance that they could be caught.But he felt that he was invinsible.But at the same time he felt so scared he was shaking.

IC: Burningstar panted as he raced side by side with Berrypaw, but he could feel the wolf giving chase, and catching up. he also knew that if they kept running, they'll lead the large creature to camp... "go get a patrol!" he meowed loudly and turned to face the huge wolf. though he knew he would never win, he just hoped Berrypaw will get more cats to help quickly.
he made a swift U-turn and pounced, without warning, onto it. the wolf wasn't suspecting that, but started growling and tried to shake off the dark ginger leader. it was hard to hold on as he dug his claws into its ears and around its thick fur around the neck. Burningstar hissed and bit down onto its ears, and barely dodged its large jaws.

berrypaw ran as fast as he could he reached the camp in about 3 min.He was so scared for his leader that he got up on hight rock and yelled,"BURNINGSTAR IS BEEN ATTACKED BY A WOLF ANY WARRIORS PLEASE HELP!"Once he got down from the great rock he already had a patrol ready.they all ran as fast as they could.Berrypaw still ran faster than alll the warriors.He was the first one there.When they got there Burningstar was on the ground.

btw, do u want to play all the rest of the cats? and try not to make berrypaw sound too superior and powerful; it won't be realistic since he's only an apprentice. XP

Burningstar felt releaved when warriors came to his aid. the large wolf sighted them, and knew that it was out numbered. it swirled around to growl at the cats, who hissed in defence. Burningstar got up and pounced onto the wolf's back, biting down. he held on as the patrol of cats went into action to chase it out.

Since berrypaw was just an apprentice he didn't get into the warriors way.He saw they get scrathed and hit it was awful.He couldn't watch he just closed his eyes.He couldn't believe that the first day of training he was attacked by the tribe.Then when he gets a new mentor he get's attacked by a wolf! he just really couldn't believe it.

the fireclan cats gave the wolf a few last claws and spits as the larger creature whined and rain with its tail in its legs. Burningstar jumped down from its back, landing with a thud. he watched with his amber eyes before turning back to the rest of the patrol, who were licking their wounds. he himself had some bruises from collisions with the wolf, but it wasn't too bad. he thanked the others as they went back to camp to see the med cat.
"You ok Berrypaw?" he asked, noticing that his apprentice looked nervous and unbelieving, his eyes closed tightly.

"yeah Burningstar I'm okay."Berrypaw was still in shock with what just happened.His second mentor he thoought would have been a fresh new start.But the same thing happened again.Berrypaw was stood in awe for a moment.First he was attacked by the tribe then he was attacked by a wolf.He couldn't believe that this was happpening to him.It seemed that even starclan had turned their back on him.

"Dont worry about it, Berrypaw" Burningstar tried to be comforting. even he would be scared if a wolf attacked on the first day of training. "there are always wild animals around, and it's not your fault a wolf just happened to pass by today." he meowed. he could see in Berrypaw's eyes that he was afraid he caused it. although the clan leader didn't know how that felt, for he'd been a straightforward cat all his life, but he could feel how much of an impact it had on poor Berrypaw. "come on," he flickered his tail and smiled. "let's go on with your training. now, where were we?"

"ummmmmm.....i don't remember." Berrypaw still couldn't think straight.He really wanted to get on with training.But maybe he thought maybe he could just forget about it for a minite.He began to feel more better. "I believe we were learning to fight on uneven surfaces." then Berrypaw found himself jumping up and down with excitment.He began to feel so much better.He could wait to get started again.
