'wow this place is huge!' starpaw mewed in awe when he and soaringsky came to the vaste lands of golden grass.
'ok i'm ready to learn!' he announced eagerly and pretended to go into a funny hunters crouch.

'um...' starpaw looked around like answers were going to appear out of nowhere. 'u chase rabbits and pounce on mice?' he made his guess sound like a question. well he winged it!

Soaringsky nosed Starpaw's front paw a bit. "That is better. Try mouse." The breeze ruffled her fur. The sun was bright, but clouds threatened.

'oki" he laughed. 'so wut else? should i try catching a mouse now?' he couldnt contain his excitement as his tail went straight up. he didnt even notice the clouds

"Yes. Do you smell mouse? You try for that one to your right and then back to camp. I smell rain on it's way." She flicked her tail in direction indicated. Soaringsky felt a drop or two, but she wanted Starpaw to try first.

'ok' he mewed noticing the clouds and raindrops for the first time. trying not to get nervous and ruin his chance, he dropped to the crouch soaringsky taught him and pounced just a heartbeat too late but caught the mouse anyways. with a little struggle, but the got it. 'i got it!' he mewed happily and showed the messed up mouse to his mentor.
