OOC: hey, what'd u think smokepaw should do? should he enter? XP
IC: Brightstream frowned when his watch on Pondpaw disappeared, where had she went? she thought to herself before he heard a yowl and felt something jump onto her back. the attacker wasn't very big, but she couldn't be sure. she let out a mrrw of surprise and tried to shake off her attacker. the only scent that filled her mouth was that of fish. she twisted herself around after her surprise wore off, and like in her more intense training with the tribe, she flipped so that she was away from her attacker's claws, and in clear view of the attacker. "Pondpaw!"

"Brightstream!" Lakeripple gasped when she saw who Pondpaw had jumped on. "Why are you so dirty?"

"Brightstream......." Where had she been?I hadn't seen her in ages it seemed. But she could she the hate in her eyes. Ever since that day when she went to train Pondpaw it seemed she wanted revenge. "Yes Brightstream, why are you all dirty?"

Snowfoot looked at the mud-covered she-cat and took him a while to realise who it was. Brightstream had an odd scent around her that made his fur bristle. What was that?

Honeydew saw the expression on Snowfoot's face. He really didn't know how Brightstream was

OOC: It would be interesting! ^^
IC: Pondpaw rolled quickly off of the intruder, and jumped to her paws. The mud covered cat was before her, but the slim apprentice froze. Brightstream?" Pondpaw mewed, surprise clearly in her voice. Slight embarassment rushed over the apprentice when she realized that she had just attacked her own mentor....Brightstream is sure to be mad....."Is the mud covering a new hunting style? It looks like it would work...." Pondpaw's voice trailed off a bit, as she tried to cover up how foolish she had been.

Brooksplash raced into the area. "I heard Pondpaw yowl, and..." she saw Brightstream. "Pondpaw!" her voice was shocked. "You attacked your mentor?"

"But.....but....." Pondpaw mewed sadly to her mother, as she whipped around to meet her gaze. "The mud.....and.....I DIDN"T KNOW!!!" Pondpaw broke down and sobbed in front of them all. It seemed like she was in the middle of a circle of stareing eyes. Everyone was watching, and everyone must have been mad. The silver-blue apprentice had yelled a false alarm, AND attacked her mentor. Could this moment get any worse?

Honeydew padded over to Pondpaw. "Pondpaw it's okay you did the right thing. You didn't notice that it was Brightstream." Honeydew sat next to Pondpaw."It's okay to be embarrassed sometimes everyone does it." Honeydew chuckled.

Brooksplash nudged her daughter to her paws. "i am shocked, but you did what you thought was right. I'm sure that Brightstream won't hold it against you." The look she gave her daughter's mentor said plainly, she'd better not.

Honeydew chuckled. Brightstream was somewhere where she shouldn't have been. Honeydew was now suspecting more and more. She was sure that Brightstream doesn't like her either.

Brightstream didnt want to seem too suspicious, and started licking her paw, drawing it over her ears. that gave her a moment the think things through. "oh Pondpaw it's alright. the mud blends my scent so prey won't know at all that i'm even alive!" she purred. she was getting really good at acting. it HAS been a couple moons already, and she's getting better by the day. she no longer felt the heat under her fur every time she told a lie. "dont cry" she meowed lightly, and her eyes actually betrayed a sense of care for Pondpaw.

Honeydew just had a bad feeling about this. It was quiet weird how Brightstream who usual is very clean is now covered in dirt.It seemed way to weird. She could tell that Brightstream was lying. She was doing a good job though trying to fool everyone though. Honeydew wondered where Brightstream was though.

Snowfoot just watched the mud-covered she-cat, there was something strange about her that made his fur bristle. Something was wrong. He continued to watch in silence.

Honeydew sat down wondering where Brightstrem may have been. It was just odd how she never had a dirty coat and now she was covered in mud. It didn't seem right.

Pondpaw clenched her teeth, and held back any more tears. Turning to her mentor, the apprentice smiled slightly, seeing the slight care in her mentor's eyes. "Should I do it too?" The apprentice asked, pictureing the look on a bird's face as what it thought was a stone, was actually a slim and quick feline.

Brightstream didn't care how others saw her anymore. this actually helped. before she joined the tribe, she was always so afraid of how people see her. now, she didn't. now she was able to do much more, and truly live as herself, even if she was betraying the clan. at least now she wasn't betraying herself. there was one cat she cared about though. she didn't even know why. she couldn't help but smile when Pondpaw looked up to her. she sensed pride and gladness that her apprentice didn't suspect her for anything. "yes, both your scent and your colours will be disguised. you'll be bringing back loads more prey than all the other apprentices." she felt a purr rise in her throat. Pondpaw was like a sister, or daughter than she never had.
but this was a weakness.

Pondpaw grinned greatly once Brightstream had said that it would be better if she did. All hints that the apprentice had been crying only a few heartbeats ago was gone, as she disappeared into a bush, and reapeared with fresh wet mud all over her once clean silver-blue fur. In fact, you may not have been able to notice the playful Pondpaw if it weren't for the fact that the she-cat couldn't stop from working her paws on the cold snow, and haveing that great grin. "Will the mud dry quickly, Brightstream? I don't want it getting rubbed off in the snow...." Pondpaw asked, before looking at her mother, Brooksplash.

Brightstream was proud as Pondpaw became her energetic self again, and came back covered in mud, just like her. she was a bit worried though that Pondpaw might get sick, since having her fur wet meant it won't contain as much warmth as dry fur. Brightstream was of course used to it because of her harsh training, but POndpaw... "um, try to find drier mud, and stay in it for a while." she meowed. mud itself is part of the earth, which is warmer than if she stood up from it. "and dont worry, since leaf-bare is dry the mud don't be rubbed off. it might harden fast though so finding stickier mud is better." she hoped Brooksplash wouldn't get upset at her that she's making Pondpaw get all dirty like this.
