"stress? i'm so not stressed!" Burningstar laughed and sniffed the herbs. "besides, they don't smell very apetizing!" he purred and set them aside.
"u know, i haven't seen such a big storm in my life! i hope it doesn't flood the rivers, or it would be very dangerous." he looked out as well and sat down beside Gingerleaf, enjoying being beside her.

Gingerleaf looked amused,"Well They do smell bad!" she sniffed the herbs and cringed. She enjoyed the den and watched the storm,"That would be very bad if it flooded. It would come to camp maybe" she mewed getting a little worried about the saftey of camp.

Burningstar nodded at Gingerleaf's statement. although FireClan's rivers aren't larger like WaterClan's, their camp was downhill. good for defence, but if it really does flood...
"I'm going to send out a patrol tomorrow first thing when the storm stops to check out how bad the flooding is. would u mind going?" he asked, still in thought.
if it's bad, i might have to find dry land for us to shelter for a while... he prayed to StarClan that he wouldn't have to do that...

NOt at all, lets hope we can last that long" she mewed, deep down she knew that they would, but something made her think they wouldn't would this flood be the end of them?

Burningstar nodded. "good. I'll go with u. would u mind finding another cat to come along with us if u can?" he watched the heavy rain splatter down from the darkened sky. although it worried him, his amber gaze turned to Gingerleaf. "and thanks." he added.

Gingerleaf nodded once more,"Your welcome" she thought for a moment,"Littlepaw she could come," the thought a second longer,"Tommorows half moon and after the patrol she could go and recieve her name"

Burninstar nodded too. "Littlepaw could collect some more herbs before they're totally drowned out," he thought for a while. but how will she recieve her name without Rainpool here? ... this got him worried. there's never been a med cat apprentice who was approved by StarClan without her mentor before. he hoped that their warrior ancestors will accept Littlepaw, even without Rainpool to say the ceremony words.
Shaking the thoughts from his head, he curled up and closed his eyes. "u should get some sleep too. the rain doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon." he meowed, lying on only half the moss den on purpose to give room for Gingerleaf. hopefully the storm will be over by dawn.

Gingerleaf nodded, feeling the same feeling of dred for the eager apprentice. She yawned and layed down next to Burningstar."I hope Littlepaw gets accepted" she mewed softly, closing her eyes to fall asleep. She remebered the apprentice's words, 'To be a mentor, is to be a trainer, but a true friend is a mentor itself'.
