"I can speak fox, dog, badger, cougar, bear, cat, bird, squirrel, and mouse. It gets annoying sometimes though. I can't hunt a lot of animals. At least I can stop other kinds from eating me though." Byakko smiled.

"Sure! But it takes time. You can't rush this kind of training. I didn't learn to speak cat until I was 4 moons old. My mother was killed when I was born. My mentor then took me in. She had lost her cubs, so we completed each other. I grew up learning fox, so I switch languages without knowing it." Byakko's golden eyes sparkled with embarassment.

Skywalker purred happily at Bird's words. The young she-cat was very intent on learning how to speak to another animal. The jet black tom couldn't help admire that. "What would you learn?" Skywalker asked Bird, as he gave the small white dot on his chest a few quick licks.

Sunset frowned. "Are you sure you want to commit to this Bird?" she asked. "You heard Byakko, it takes time." she twined her tail with Skywalker's. "But I wouldn't mind learning dog or fox. I could confuse those predators and I would be less likely hunted. I would never give up eating birds, so I wouldn't do that."

"Then bird it is." Byakko meowed. She turned to Sunset, offended, "Foxes are seriously misunderstood by cats. You have no right to judge something you don't understand." She looked up at the dark sky and yawned, "I'm tired, we can start training tomorrow." Byakko curled up and neatly layed her tail on her nose, like a fox.

Put out, Sunset padded over to Byakko. "I am not speaking bad about foxes, I'm just saying that one almost killed me! I wasn't even doing anything to him! You have to admit, that foxes and cats don't often get along. All I'm saying is that if I learned fox, I could protect myself from these... misunderstandings."

Skywalker would have to note to himself not to try and hunt any birds once Bird learned how to speak to them.

Bird ignored Sunset's out burst. "What are those words?" Bird said. Her eyes lit up like pieces of burning amber.

Byakko nodded wearily to Sunset. She turned to Bird. "In each language there are words that are said the same, friendship, alligance, freedom, and no. Such 3 powerful words, then a simple, no." Byakko remembered the old fox telling her the exact same thing. "Tomorrow we can go bird-watching to start your training. For now, let us sleep."

Skywalker's ears lowered as he watched Sunset storm off. The jet black tom flicked his tail in frustration as his gaze flicked from the two sleeping cats and the angry she-cat who was quickly disapearing in the distance. Suddenly his warm nest didn't seem so welcoming anymore. Desperate to calm Sunset, Skywalker quickly and silently padded away from the sleeping she-cats. Once he was a good enough distance away, the rouge broke into a full run. "Sunset..." Skywalker meowed after her, hoping she would slow down so they could talk. He didn't even mind if she dumped all her anger upon him all at once if it made her happy.
