eupneafog i will kill you i will kill me and we'll all die with just a taste of my berry A flash of gray and white fur in the darkness, a glint of golden-amber eyes. There is a quiet chuckle that turns into a crazed, crazed laugh. From another direction comes the same laugh, and from the first place is a gasp of excitement. A beautiful gray and white she-cat leaps onto an outcropping of rock. Her pelt shimmers in the half-light. When she turns, fire burns in her eyes. She laughs again, and thingys her head to hear the return. She giggles.
"Echo, echo, echo!" There is a slight twitch of her head, and she lays down on her rock, staring up at nothing. "Bounce back at me, echo!" Grinning, the she-cat flicks at the blackness above her. "You always were pretty, Echo. Little Echopaw. No, sorry, Echochant. That's right. You told them about me, and you got me sent away, and then you were the big cat around. Good for you, Echo."
Leaping down, the she-cat lopes toward the edge of the camp. Crazy lights dance in her eyes. She laughs again. "Speak to me Echo! Come visit your old mentor! Come down from that starry place you call Heaven, come down and talk to me. You released me, you know. My death is on your conscience. I'm not the only one who kills."
Hiccuping now, the she-cat went back the way she had come from and looks up at the rock, mock-bowing. "Oh father, father dear. I bow to your humble memory. I hope you like hunting with the starry ones." Twitching her head again, the she-cat grimaced. "But what you did is ten times worse than what I did. I never tried to kill a kit. Especially not my own. Not that I had my own, father dear. No, you drove me to what I became. IT WAS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!"
The she-cat's head clears and she looks around, gaze suddenly sharp and intelligent. "Now, what was I doing again?" she mutters softly. "Oh yes, yes, right... Looking for a suitable carrier. Not that there will ever be any. You're too picky, aren't you? You must have a medicine cat. Because if you don't... all your talents go to waste, don't they?"
She bows her head to look in a pool of dark water. Her breathing disturbs it, rippling it outwards. "They say you're a demon. Are you? All you ever did was try and keep them from hurting kits like you. Are you a demon, Eupneafog?"
Then suddenly the crazed light returns to Eupneafog's eyes, like her name is some sort of trigger. She giggles and sprawls on her back, mumbling, "Echo, echo, echo, echo, echo..."

Eternalfire watched the crazed she-cat from a safe distance, his tail flicking as it might in a hunt. except he wouldn't dare attack this cat. not only was she some of the only company he had in this wretched place, she also was insane. though he was neither disgusted nor afraid of insanity, he knew it was a thing to be respected and not underestimated.
"You have quite a past..." He purred, retaining his safe distance away, lest she decide to attack him. he was already dead, and didn't want to figure out what happened if you died again. was that even possible? he might need to test that...

Head flashes up, ears flattened, hackles raised. She giggles as she sees the other cat, turning around and licking herself without a care. She didn't see that it was a problem showing that she was defenseless at the moment. Not even the cats here would dare attack her. Crazed, crazed, crazed.
"I'm not going to hurt you," she giggles, rising quickly to her feet. "And it isn't nice to let a lady stay all on her own when you could come and give her some company. Not sure how much company you'd be though. All the toms who stay with me end up dead."
Walking slowly towards the tom, she dips her head and peers out at him from her pretty eyes. "But you're already dead, aren't you. Eternalfire." She breathes out the name like she was the north wind blowing. "Could be a nice experiment. See how long I can stand to be around you. Dead cats are much more..." Her voice trails off and her eyes fall into shadow, confused, not sure what to say.
When she looks back up her gaze is cautious, her face harsh. "How long have you been here, Eternalfire? How much do you know of me, to say such a thing? Or are they now telling stories in the Clans about he insane medicine cat who murdered every tom that came into her care. Are they?"

"Who's to say he even knows?" A brown tabby paced slowly out of the bushes. "There is no moon in this wretched place, nor is there any way to pass the time. You ask how long Eternalfire has been here. I don't even know if you are aware of the passage of time around yourself these days." Darkheart's crimson gaze burned between the two cats. "And I doubt you could harm me if you tried." His gaze softened to brown for a moment, "The answer is simple. Never and forever. Time does not pass here. We are but phantoms, lost to our haunts." His gaze returned to crimson as he expected a hostile response to come of these dejected cats.
