moonlitice listen up girl and just so you know everything, everything was your fault It's hard to change someone so vain that they think talking to someone means to show off your fur and purr, totally blissful and believing that you are having a meaningful conversation. The cats who aren't like this will look on the vain one and think that he or she is crazy. The supposed "crazy" cat will look on everyone else and think they are ugly.
Most cats like that turn because they are beautiful, and they feel that everyone should know it. It isn't anything deep, but more of a way to show the world what you have to offer, even if it isn't much. And that really isn't that much. It shows no personality, shows no joy for the world. All those cats have are their looks, and without that they would be empty shells, devoid of all life and happiness.
Moonlitice used to be vain, but she was never like that. Being vain for her was a way to escape the world and forget about her past. Of course, when she was vain was more in her apprentice moons, when she was learning everything she could from Firemist. She soaked up information like a sponge and realized that she had more to offer the world than just her looks. But though she loves her mentor greatly, it wasn't the kind warrior who taught her that.
Though no other cat would believe her when she told them, the most influential cat in her life was Foxcloud, the deputy. She knew what other cats said about Foxcloud, and Moonlitice felt that it was all incredibly unfair. For while the rest of the world marked her off as a brain dead beauty queen with no future, Foxcloud saw potential.
Yes, Moonlitice knew all the bad that the deputy had done. She realized that to others Foxcloud might not be so... kind. She might even be downright awful. But still, it didn't matter. No one had believed in her until Foxcloud came up to her that day when she was sulking because Berrypaw wouldn't take a hint. After that, she had known that she had something that she could do, and always looked forward to talking to the deputy.
Because of Foxcloud, Moonlitice had standing in the Clan. Most cats knew her name. Cats talked to her now. But it wasn't the same. Moonlitice wasn't the same cat. She didn't want to be noticed anymore, but instead she wanted to learn from Foxcloud, to grow as a warrior more and more so she could avenge her brother, who she believed had been led to his death by her. Moonlitice could never forgive herself.
As the warrior sat at the edge of camp, she shivered slightly in her short fur. They just didn't understand Foxcloud. She was a great warrior. She always would be. She could help them, if they let her. EarthClan and SkyClan were fools not to see that. If they just agreed to join her, the whole forest would be great. The world would be simple. There would be no wars, no hunger. Foxcloud would just rule it all. Oh, of course... Burningstar. But it wasn't as if anyone in the Clan really believed he was in charge anymore. Foxcloud had so much more power.

"You feel cold, Moonlitice."
The shaded form of the Fireclan deputy curled around the younger warrior. Foxcloud's presents seemed almost sufficatingly dark, yet there was a small tang of warmth within those hushed words. Her sharp yellow eyes gazed out into the depths of the shadowed forest. Trunks of the trees gave occassional beconing moans. Foxcloud's eyes narrowed at their calls with interest.
"The moon's light always highlighted your fur best." Giving a sideways glance, the deputy switched her attention to the young warrior. Foxcloud's pelt always seemed to reject the soft shine of light, and in turn darken under it's rays. Even the moon could barely add a glow to her fox-like fur.

Moonlitice looked up as Foxcloud spoke. The deputy could always sneak up on her. Foxcloud said that she looked cold. Moonlitice blinked her assent, yes, she was cold. But she was surprised when the deputy curled up around her, giving her some warmth. Stunned for a second, Moonlitice quickly got over it and laid her head on her paws, allowing Foxcloud to stay around her. It felt kind of nice, something that friends did. And it did give her some warmth.
Purring at Foxcloud's compliment, Moonlitice looked at the deputy. She noticed sadly that the older warrior was taking no light in at all. It was a pity. She would look so beautiful with the moon highlighting her. She could be statuesque, gorgeous, loved. No one could really hate something beautiful. But Foxcloud seemed intent not to allow that to faze her, and instead to show off just how much rejection she could show.
"Thank you," Moonlitice said softly. Already she was feeling better, warmth leaching into her bones and spirit. It lent heart to the young warrior. Who said that Foxcloud was all bad? She had some love in her. All you had to do is be loyal and show trust. And Moonlitice was one hundred percent loyal and trusted Foxcloud with her life. Others would too, if she didn't kidnap kits and go after elderly leaders.
"You haven't called me to go on patrols lately..." Or ever, Moonlitice added inwardly. Foxcloud seemed to always give Moonlitice a choice whether or not to do things. It gave her freedom, but set her apart even more. It was a blessing and a curse.

The yellow gaze flicked about the younger she-cat's frame, before resting once more upon her face. "Do you see me as blind, Moonlitice? Your mind seemed to lately be nothing but a storm harsher then Demonclan. I thought a break from clan work might help..." Foxcloud trailed off, a small frustrated grunt of defeat escaping into the night air. It had seemed a logical solution at the time, though she should have known that when there was nothing to do, a cat tends to think. When a cat tends to think, it's mind will rage like a mother badger.
The deputy decided ending her previous statement was worth it more then to let it continue. Instead, her next words carried a tone that actually seemed plausible of belonging to a deputy. "Take the dawn patrol. Before that, I want your hunting skills tested. Can't have my favorite little warrior getting rusty."
OOC: bah...bad muse...baaaad muse -_-

The comfort that Foxcloud's fur brought was so wonderful... It made Moonlitice the warmest and most comfortable that she had been in far too long. She briefly wondered what the other cats would think if they saw her curled up with the deputy, but then she waved the thought off. She had every right to share tongues with the deputy. She was around Foxcloud probably more than any cat. They would just have to deal with it.
Moonlitice found that Foxcloud was right. She had been raging with herself far more frequently recently, and it apparently showed to those around her. Her breath caught in her throat as she realized that the deputy had just had her best interests at heart, and had not been wary of her loyalties. It made Moonlitice feel even warmer, happiness dragging through her pelt.
But she was overwhelmingly happy when she heard the words "take the dawn patrol." Finally something to do! She had been going hunting so many times recently. Hunting with Redwing, an inner voice whispered to her, and she decided not to share that information with Foxcloud. It wasn't like the deputy didn't already know. But Moonlitice had seen the jealous reactions Foxcloud could pull up, and didn't want them unleashed on her new friend. A cat who shared a past so like hers... it was bizarre.
Though she had been hunting so many times... she even felt better when Foxcloud said she wanted to test her hunting skills. She purred and looked up at the older warrior. "Whenever you want to go. I'm always up for a run," she murmured, already feeling her legs flying over the forest floor, carrying her anywhere and everywhere.
OOC: I want to be able to run like Moonlitice... *curses* In real life I'm one of the slowest people in my class. And I tell my Gym teacher I DO HAVE A HEALTHY MILE TIME! I looked it up online! Four different places, one the flipping government! Give it a rest!
*Stops thinking about running* Everything is going to change for my dear, sweet, naïve little Moonlitice when Foxcloud is defeated. I can't imagine her world if she isn't with Foxcloud.

OOC: I couldn’t tell you if I run fast or not. For me it all depends on how I start or something. If I start with all my might it turns into a speedy sprint that doesn’t go very far, and if I start relaxed my distance is great but speed greatly lacking. Wouldn’t mind having Moonlitice’s happy medium myself either! Haha xD
Well, we can only ever wait and see. It will definitely be a challenge for her in it's own way.
IC: Foxcloud gave a playful smirk, gaze panning to the forest's shadows about Moonlitice. Her sharp yellow orbs burned at their crawling darkness. Daring them to even dream of swallowing the younger she-cat. The wind picked up in anticipation to playing once more with it's young friend. It's smooth touch wrapped about the Fireclanners, caressing their tabby furs. "Your paws are swift, Moonlitice, though you must promise me something." an obvious observation, and a complement in its own, though her muzzled faded from her smirk as she went on. Foxcloud broke from Moonlitice's warming flank, and stepped deeper into the undergrowth. Away from the camp. The deputy’s vision was set back to the younger huntress to lock with her pure star filled orbs. ”This forest is forever full of tricks, and no one can ever expect where it will turn. Do not rely on petty wishes and prayers alone. Sometimes there will have to be times of action. Now…” The fox colored she-cat swayed into the brambles, her form being embraced by the shade and twisted in the trickery of darkness. The cold traces of her scent vanished behind the sudden intense tang of broken herb sap and distant coming rain ”Let us try a different form of hunting.” Her tone became hushed, voice swirled among the playful wind’s clutch. The forest seemed to gain a new powerful voice as every sound became just that little bit louder. Excitement rushed through the deep roots as the older warrior’s eyes flashed briefly before vanishing into the depths of everything around. A last dream-like murmur broke the sound of the loud trees, silencing them for a stolen moment.
”Come catch me, my dear Moonlitice.”

Surprised for the merest second as Foxcloud’s warm fur broke away from her, Moonlitice vaguely realized that they were going to be doing this… test right now. She got to her feet slowly, waking up her frozen muscles with gentle stretches. She listened to what Foxcloud was saying, and felt confusion sweep her up in its hungry jaws. What was Foxcloud saying? What did she mean, another kind of hunting?
The young warrior’s eyes widened as she watched the deputy vanish. “Foxcloud…” Moonlitice whispered softly, feeling a prickle of unease feel its way into her stomach. Was this a lesson? She hadn’t had one of Foxcloud’s lesson in so long… Not since…
Giggling, Moonlitpaw launched herself after the leaf, feeling it catch on her claw as she dragged it down. She shook it off her thorn sharp nail and glanced down at the puncture hole, feeling loss in her heart. She had just wanted to catch it, not mangle it.
“Aren’t you a little old for playing with leaves, Moonlitpaw? You are almost a warrior.” The tabby apprentice turned at the sound of Foxcloud’s voice, rolling her amber eyes the slightest bit.
“Come on Foxcloud, I’m just having a bit of fun.”
Moonlitpaw watched as the ginger deputy frowned just the slightest bit, seeming to take in these words. “Yes… Fun…” A light dawned on the older she-cat’s face. “Yes, that’s right. Fun. The idea of piercing an enemy’s heart, knowing that you have done something great and bold, something that other cats would shy away from. Yes, I understand. For lack of an enemy, you use this leaf.”
The little tabby glanced at Foxcloud. “Yeah… sure. That’s my fun.”
Moonlitice glanced up, shaking her flashback off. And just as the gleam of the deputy’s eyes vanished, she heard the words, “Come catch me, my dear Moonlitice.” And with that the warrior stepped towards the dark forest, unsure of what to do, but knowing instinctively that Foxcloud was not joking.
She launched herself into the lightless trees, taking a deep breath, pumping her legs, and using her instincts and senses – scent, smell, feel… anything but sight, which was impossible now – to try and find her first friend.
