The lonely breeze rippled her pelt. Rippedtail just stood at the edge of the Black Swamp. She was hesitant, not really wanted to fall into the black depths. But at the same time, the miserable warrior was debating jumping in herself. Everything had gone South for her since her warrior ceremony. That was several moons ago, how Rippedtail survived as long as she had, was completely beyond her.
The terrifying water loomed in front of her. Rippedtail still continued to stare into them. One minute they were a relief and escape, another they were pure death, waiting to suck her down and drown her within. Rippedtail still only stared. I think my name would have been better off being Rippedheart, she thought. It's more fitting... She didn't know what happened. One day Rippedtail was a new warrior, happy, filled with energy, one of the camps bubbliest cats. And now here she was, miserable, alone, lacking of energy, and now the camp bubble popper... She was a stick in the mud. And it wasn't age that did this too her.
It's Thunderstripe... she thought. She loved the tom. The two had become warriors together, they seemed meant for each other. The single name brought back the history of why she was what she was.
The happy cat pounced happily on the mouse in front of her. She killed it swiftly, not allowing the prey to make a sound. Thunderstripe came up behind her. "Hey," he said. His voice sent shiver's up Rippedtail's spine. She loved him. And she had plans to mother his kits. "I have some bad news..." Her heart plummeted. All she could think of was that it was another cat, he liked another cat.
"What?" Rippedtail asked, her amber eyes filling with fear. She didn't want to know, but still her tongue went on and asked anyway.
"I have to leave, I have to leave the clan, you can come with me," Thunderstripe said. Hope glinted in his eyes. Could Rippedtail just pack up and leave her clan like this? She belonged with them, she was born there, she was a pure clan cat, rare enough these days.
"Oh, Thunderstripe, I can't, my whole life is here..." she meowed quietly. Thunderstripe lowered his head and grumbled what sounded like a "Fine, whatever." He took off and left. Rippedtail expected him to return, but the warrior never did. Rippedtail was then utterly alone...
She still was. Rippedtail would never ever find another cat like Thunderstripe, nor could she even find herself a friend... She was way to grim and boring. Maybe she should just jump.... Rippedtail didn't move though.

OOC-Well, my Earthclan kitty's in another thread, but it's ok if he isn't in more than two right?
Brokenfang slunk through the thick undergrowth. He was supposed to be hunting but his head was lost in thought. Thoughts of his past... particularly that fateful day when he had lost his eye to a badger...
The memory was as clear as if it were yesterday. He was a hardworking apprentice, the only apprentice in the clan back then. If he passed this assesment, he would become a warrior. Determined to do so, he was extremely focused on catching a fat looking squirrel and he barely noticed a huge badger stomping towards him. Until it was too late, that is. And the rest, as they say, is history. The great beast attacked. Brokenfang, Brokenpaw, then, yowled for help. But help didn't come soon enough. He was able to hold off the badger just long enough for him to survive, but lost an eye because of that.
The tabby warrior shuddered, trying to clear his head. He found his paws leading him to the Black Swamp. As his padded closer to the murky mass of muddy water, he saw Rippedtail, an Earthclan she-cat. He grunted in greeting as he reached the swamp.

Rippedtail jumped slightly. She hadn't even heard the warrior slinking through the bushes. Some warrior you are, she grumbled to herself. She was angry the she didn't hear, or even scent the tabby. But still she'd failed in everything before, why should now be any different? She ignored him again, and turned her amber gaze on the black murky water. Her old thoughts returned.
It would be so easy just to jump in and end it all, how simple my life would be! Rippedtail thought. She believed what she thought too. Death. Death was easy, it was living that was difficult. Rippedtail wanted the easy way, she hated things that were difficult. Word Count;; 142 Muse;; Eh...

Brokenfang sighed as the she-cat ignored him. Fool! You could've done more than grunt! The voice in his head continued, as it always did, to criticize himself. Strange, yes, and it kept him in a constant state of grumpiness- most of the time, anyway. Today though, he decided to try to be... friendly. It was something that hadn't happened in a long time but it was worth a go. "Greetings." He muttered, his deep voice slightly throaty. The tabby warrior winced at his own words. Surely this wasn't a good way to start a conversation? He waited nervously for the other cat's reply, surely something like, go away, or who do you think you are... that was what he got most of the time when he did things like this.

Completely lost in her own thoughts, Rippedtail felt the need to show respect. She turned her head and looked at the new comer, Brokenfang, with her sad amber eyes. "Hello," she meowed, her voice sounding sad and aged. Rippedtail turned her attention back to the swamp. Her thoughts of death swirled around her head again, whispering sweet happiness and lovely endings in Starclan.
