"Wow, thanks!" hollypaw mrrowed, looking slightly pleased and embarrassed at Moonpaw's praise. "But I'll bet you'll be just as good as, if not better, than me when you get a mentor! Don't worry, it should be soon, things are just so slow around here right now. I'm not sure why.." She mused, her brown eyes misting as she stared out into space.
"Well, maybe we can battle practice?" Crowpaw meowed hopefully. "Hunting's for sissies!" He teased, a grin pulling at the corners of his mouth.
(^^ It's okay! I totally understand! ^^ I hope things calm down a bit for you!)

Moonpaw meowed laughing at Crowpaw's comment. "I think both sound really fun!" She exclaimed. "I really do hope to be good at both hunting and fighting, but for now I'm satisfied with all the things I can do for the clan." Moonpaw looked over at the two cats and smiled. She felt happy with what she had now and even though she knew most cats weren't satisfied with the odd jobs given in the camp, she was.
"So Crowpaw, why don't you show me some of your battle moves?"She asked. "I think it would be fair to marvel at how good you are, since i already praised your sister for her hunting skills."

"Don't encourage him!" Hollypaw mrrowed, laughing. "He's already got a head the size of a boulder!" The black apprentice leapt out of the way of Crowpaw's swatting paw. "Well, it's true!" She told him.
"Whatever..."Crowpaw said, looking embarrassed. "Okay, wanna start then Moonpaw?" He meowed, crouching. "Your move..." his voice trailed off...

Moonpaw swooshed her tail excitedly before crouching down until her bear belly touched the sandy floor. Moonpaw ready herself to make a quick move that would knock Crowpaw off his paws. With on last deep breath and clearing her mind to let her instincts take over, Moonpaw lunged at him. The only thought that went through her head then was, "Lets if I can beat him."

Crowpaw was ready. He flung himself out of the way, and then, in a quick movement, dashed towards her. His grey/brown fur a blur, Crowpaw feinted a left strike with his paw, but quickly ducked down and used his head to ram into Moonpaw's side...

Moonpaw who was not ready for the quick side attack, ended up skidding across the ground. At first she made no move and all was silent, until she got up and laughed. "You got me there, but watch I'm going to get you back!"Moonpaw cried with laughter. Getting back into her crounching position she charged head on to Crowpaw. As she neared Crowpaw she pushed back on her hind legs and jumped with one paw ready to strike him.

Crowpaw saw the attack coming, and started to move, but then changed his mind. He needed to get closer for his attack and Moonpaw's charge would do it for him. He hoped he could withstand her attack, but his pride would not let him back down. He narrowed his eyes and let the attack hit him full on- he refused to do anything more than let out a small grunt despite the fact that the attack had been pretty powerful and then sprang into action- using his front paws to try to smack down on the other apprentice's shoulders and force her to the ground- where she'd be unable to attack... He grinned. This was alot of fun!
