Sunset draped her tail over her son in warning. "Burning," she chastised, blue eyes flashing. Looking forward, she stared right at her brother's mate. "You must be Leaffur," she meowed politely. "I am Sunset, and this is my eldest son, Burning." She glanced over her shoulder, and found that Skywalker was caught amongst the EarthClan cats. "It seems as if my mate has found himself in a bit of a jumble," she joked wryly. Then she fixed her gaze right on her youngest kit. "Hiddenpaw, do not hide from me," she whispered.
Hiddenpaw glared at her mother. "Hide from you? Why would I? You'd only find me, find me with your lies!" she turned away, anger fueled. But she looked back. Burning... that must be her brother.
Forestfur sighed at his niece's behavior, but couldn't bring himself to tell her off in front of her mother. Instead he turned towards Burning. "I know young one, I saw you when you were just a few days old." Forestfur's bright blue eyes twinkled. "But where is your sister, Moonrise? And little Jet?"
Flashpaw nodded at Dreampaw's words. "I get the feeling Treestar plans to do the same for us," he admitted. "All the Clans are. You know Cedarpaw, right? We talk at the gatherings sometimes... He's been an apprentice for ten moons! He's gotten postponed pretty harshly because of all this... But I bet he's real good!"

"Really?" Burning's eyes shone. "What's your name? I don't know it..." At that, he looked sad, and embarrased. I mean, c'mon, who doesn't know thier kin's names? He thought to himself... "And hi Leaffur!" He felt somecat's eyes on him, and turned, looking into the eyes of Hiddenpaw. "Are you....Hiddenpaw?" He meowed, unaware of the fact that she was his sister...

Forestfur chuckled. "I'm Forestfur, hasn't your mother mentioned me?" He looked up to see Sunset's slight nod and laughed. "Got a bit of short-term memory loss going on Burning?"
Hiddenpaw stared at Burning, recognizing a bit of herself in him. There were, of course, those star-struck blue eyes, a family trait she supposed. And their build was similar, like Treestar's, her mother had it too. And the long tail, and the bit of white mixed in with their fur... "Yes," she answered. "And you are Burning."
Sunset stared at her two kits intently. Somewhere in this Burning was sure to find out. She hoped he didn't react like his father had...

Burning looked embarrassed. "Yeah, sometimes I think so. Ehe...." He reddened. "Sorry Forestfur...I promise I'll never forget again." He gave a promising smile to his uncle, before turning back to Hiddenpaw... There was... something about her. Something he should know. His eyes widened. Of course.. he thought, letting out a small breath. Hiddenpaw looked so familiar because....she was his sister! He had a sister other than Moonrise? His jaw nearly dropped, and he looked to Sunset for answers. A thousand questions rushed through his mind, like a whirlwind, confusing and shocking, not to mention destructive. It crashed down life as he knew it... "Mom?" was all her could say before turning to look back at Hiddenpaw with surprised eyes..

All Sunset gave for an answer was a small nod. He had a right to know, but no questions could be answered in the thick of cats, where there was a family secret to be kept. Burning had best remember that.
Hiddenpaw smirked. "You didn't know?" she laughed. "You're just like daddy! I mean, jeez, this whole 'protect the family thing has gone a little too far!"

Burning shrugged, lowering his voice. "She had a good reason, I'm sure." He meowed, his faith in Sunset absolute. "She usually does. But...." He grinned, ignoring Hiddenpaw's derision. "Can you visit us sometime?" he meowed, trying to keep his voice down. He wasn't angry, or even hurt, he was just excited, he'd always felt as if there was something missing, like the three of them had always been one off.

Hiddenpaw shrugged. "I'll have to think about it. This is my home. I don't want to be caught wandering out in other territories, even if they aren't those of the Clans." She inwardly was thinking I don't want to anywhere near my mother if I can avoid it.

"Oh, okay. I understand." Burning meowed, though his disappointment showed. "Maybe I'll visit you once in awhile then. We do have a treaty, so I shouldn't be attacked on the spot. It was nice to finally meet you Hiddenpaw." He smiled. His sister! Even now the thought still blew him away. He wondered what Moonrise, and Jet would have to say to this....He flinched. Would Jet and mint ever return safely?

IC: Treestar flicked his tail once as Ravenfeather's words reached his ears. As the tom spoke, the Earthclan leader watched the warrior before him. Windgale seemed to become pleased with the tom's words. Like everything was better again. Though Treestar nodded to Ravenfeather's words, he never looked at the fellow Earthclanner. Amber eyes forever remained upon Redwater. "Redwater, your attitude had been anything but what I had expected from one of my favored warriors. Sense you seemed to choose an apprentice's reaction over a honored warriors, you may get your wish. Live the life of a apprentice again, like you seem to think you still are." Treestar's voice was stern, yet once more cool and collect. His whiskers twitched breifly before he continued, voice now slightly louder so all may hear what he ment by his past words. "Redwater, you will sleep in the Apprentice's quarters for the rest of the moon's cycle. Maybe then your attitude will once more see the difference there is in a warrior and an apprentice." The long-haired tabby lifted from his brief sitting position, and gave an oddly timed glance to Sunset. Possibly to see what she was simply doing. Before the leader began his trip possibly back to his daughter, a few final words were tossed to Redwater. "The elders need a new moss."
In truth it hurt to do such a thing to Redwater. Treestar always admired her spunk. But she had let the leader down with her reaction. Though it was understandable, Treestar expected better from one of his bester warriors...

Dreampaw gazed at Flashpaw with shocked tealish-silverish eyes. "10 moons?" She didn't believe it. "That's impossible, Froststar should've made him a warrior a long time ago. He was made an apprentice shortly after I was born... I was sure he'd been made a warrior by now..."

Flashpaw blinked. Cedarpaw was made an apprentice just after Dreampaw had been born? That was impossible. He, Flashpaw, had been about five moons, maybe a little less... Still far too long to be an apprentice. He rolled onto his belly. "What are you hoping for your warrior name?" he asked.

Windgale's gaze was fixed on Ravenfeather, and she occasionally glaced at Treestar, but the black deputy had all her attention. She purred softly, and then winced as she heard Redwater's punishment. Still, for openly speaking out against Treestar's decision, it was a fair punishment... She watched Redwater's face, wondering what she thought of Treestar's verdict....

"Not really that short, more like a moon or two after I was born," Dreampaw purred, clearing it up for Flashpaw. He looked shocked. What do I want my warrior name to be? Dreampaw asked herself. "Hmm, I think either Dreamdust, or Dreamfire, what do you want?"

Flashpaw was amazed by the beauty of the names. Dreamdust was gorgeous, but Dreamfire... Dreamfire had that ring to it that all kits wanted. Either would be perfect for Dreampaw. He just hoped Dawnstar thought on the same lines...
What did he want for his name? Flashpaw thought for a second, remembered all those days as a kit when he had paired up endings with the 'Flash' part. Only one had ever stood out. "Flashstrike I think," he announced. "I like the power behind it."

Well, I think my favorite is Dreamfire, but we'll see what Dawnstar says, she thought. Flashstrike? I love it! The name did indeed have a power behind it, but it also seemed like he had power and speed, a deadly combination. "So it's Flashstrike of Earthclan and Dreamfire of Skyclan, both breaking the Warrior Code by following the path of true love!" she meowed, and flicked her tail.

Her claws sank into the earth, and her eyes flashed to the ground but she didn't speak. Not only had he given her an apprentice's job which was enough shame, he had said it out loud. Every one had heard it. She lifted to her paws lowering her head to the Earthclan leader before she turned toward the camp entrance, her head high. She would not let them see her shame. But she couldn't stop her fur from prickling with embarrassment. The young medicine cat apprentice watched with sympathetic eyes, Redwater had to be feeling embarrassed. But the warrior wasn't her concern at the moment, it was Treestar and the Rogues who where in there camp. Slipping forward curiously she sniffed at the pelts of the rogues, if they were to be allies she would need to know there scent wouldn't she? OOC: Haha! Redwater is an apprentice *pokes the mean kitty through the cage bars, pulls out bloody hand* ..... |
