Sliding to a halt, the golden cat stared at the start of rolling hills. Her breath coming in gasps, but she was glad to have left the eerie forest behind. She could feel the black furs on her head sticking up in all directions an she hissed in annoyance before licking her paw and running it over her head. But the furs sprung right back up.
Not bothering with it, the she-cat padded forward, her ears perked and her tail curling slightly over her back. Here in the wide open space she felt freer.
The worries she had been suppressing emerged, and she sighed. She needed to think about a lot before she went back to her new home. Her pace slowed until she was only standing, the soft wind brushing her fur.
A war was going on between the five clans, not that she minded wars at all. She loved a good fight now and then. But she barley understood why. Shouldn't the clans be together fighting against the humans! She shook her head.
And if she stayed she'd be giving up her freedom, not that she minded that either, she hated being alone. Without fiends nearby. But there was one problem with staying. All the toms she'd have to work with, talk to.
Her tall frame shuddered and her fur bristled. She hated toms or disliked them very much. Could she deal with living with so many? Yes. She'd done so so far. But could she do it for the rest of her life? She wasn't sure.
Settling back on her haunches she decided to enjoy the nice breeze.

Emberfrost watched the pretty golden she-cat with interest. He was just passing by on a hunting patrol (ok, he had been following her since camp, but no cat needed to know that), and saw her settle in the tall grass, her soft fur blowing in the breeze.
The frosty-white tom knew that his pelt stuck out like a fireball in the night sky, but he was downwind. And, Kurapelt seemed to be in deep thought.
Besides, he wouldn't mind her knowing anyways. He actually wondered what her reaction would be, finding him watching her. Maybe that would end up with him getting a few extra scars on his face, but still.
For once, things weren't as ordinary as it used to be.

Huffing a loud sigh she pushed the thoughts aside, she had mad up her mind, she would stay with Skyclan. they would need the extra claws and teeth for battle anyways. The toms she could handle, the war she would sort of love (well she wouldn't' love other cats dieing but she would love the fight, the challenge).
The sound of a distant bird made her ears twitch and her stomach snarl. She rose to her paws, time to hunt. She whirled around to face the forest, her lips drawn back in distaste. She hated the cover of tees blocking out the sunlight at day and the stars at night. Her paws carried her forward, but she didn't get far before her she caught sight of the familiar frosty-white pelt of Emberfrost by the forest edge.
Hr fur bristled and her claws sunk into the soft earth beneath her paws, it would do no good to attack a clan mate. She keep telling herself that but she still wanted to claw a few chunks o fur out of his pelt.
Stalking forward she moved past him, ignoring would be better. Yep she'd ignore him.
"What are you doing here Emberfrost?" she hissed as soon as she passed him. Great Job on ignoring him Kuraplt.

Emberfrost stood up slowly, as if he hadn't been a stalker found guilty of following someone. Instead, he didn't seem to mind at all. Or maybe, seemed a bit pleased that he's been found out, though Kurapelt's face almost made him flinch. It looked like she wanted to claw his ears off or something... Well, at least he hoped not.
"Oh nothing, just enjoying the breeze," he replied. It wasn't exactly lying... but she didn't need to know the whole truth. "Just like you, right?"

Instead of answering the tom she snorted turning back toward the rolling hills and were the breeze brushed over her fur once more. She did enjoy the breeze, but she'd rather eat mouse dung then admit she had enjoyed the same breeze he did. Padding away from him, tail held high, she went back to sitting on top of the hill.
Her joints were frozen, tense.
She knew she would remain that way until the tom left. If she ignored him, he would just go away, they always did. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. Her mind temporally went blank.
Turning away she huffed, "Well what do you want?"
Nice job ignoring him Kurapelt!

Emberfrost grinned, joining Kurapelt on the top of the small hill. He could feel her tensing up, but he didn't really care if she swiped at him. In fact, that'd be even better, in a way.
"What I want? You wouldn't want to know what I want," he replied, pretending to be mysterious. But actually, all he wanted was to stay by her. Even he himself didn't know why. He never ever simply wanted to be by anyone before, and this new feeling was taking over him.

Hissing over his mysterious answer, the golden she-cat slide away from him, her claws digging into the cool earth. What she would love to do was claw out a lump of his fur! But she wouldn't because he was a clan mate and what she gathered so far from observing, clan mates didn't attack one another.
Yet.
Glaring over at him, Her eyes blazing with fury and confusion. Why didn't this tom realize she didn't like him? Was he... uh.. slow or something. She knew her fear was unreasonable and stupid seeing as there was really no cause to it but, why didn't he get she didn't like him?
So she asked him.
"Don't you know I don't like you? Or any other tom for that matter"

Emberfrost looked hurt, though it was more as a joke. "Ouch," pretended to wince and take a painful step backwards like he was going to fall. He exagerated a bit on his acting.... ok, exagerated a LOT. Staggering to his side, he fell over, his tail tip twitching.
After another second of drama, he started laughing, his paws on his belly. He liked his own sense of humour; he hoped that Kurapelt found it funny too. But of course, he didn't put his hopes up too high. It WAS Kurapelt, and not some other cat. She was different.

Shocked that he found her blunt truth funny the golden tabby gave a loud huff and turned away. What was with this strange tom, he couldn't seem to take a hint at all.
It was making it harder for her to ignore him. Well she didn't have to ignore him, as long as he knew she hated his guts, every thing was fine.
Glancing over at him she meowed, "why do you like being i a clan anyway... er... I mean why do all the clans fight each other?"
She had gotten many different answers, but somehow she wanted to know his. But she'd swear the clans strange logic would forever be strange to her.

Emberfrost flipped back over onto his belly, tucking his paws under him. His amber gaze was on the she-cat whom he found beautiful, even in her bluntness. Though, of course he wouldn't admit that she was actually who he always thought about. To her, it was like he was simply playing. To him, she was the only one.
"We don't CHOOSE to fight each other," he began. Kurapelt's question was serious, and she deserved to know what he thought about it. All the humour was now gone from the tom's eyes. "We only fight to protect each other, to protect our territory. We follow the code to ensure harmony with the other clans. But sometimes... a clan may be in trouble. They may be starving, and to save their own clan, they break the code. Even though we can understand that all they want is for their clan to be fed, we have to defend our own. If we always allow the rules to be broken, the code will be nothing. Our clan will be nothing."
His eyes were still on Kurapelt, though she was turned away from him. "Maybe you can't understand the loyalty in a clan, but the clan is our family. Can you understand that love?"

She stiffened at his question, her gaze froze on her paws. She new that love, had known it anyway. Her claws sank into the earth, before it had been ripped away from her. Twice!
Forcing herself to relax she sighed, "of course I have, hasn't everybody!" she meowed.
But she didn't want to talk about her past. "I guess I kind of understand your clans er ways now, but I don't think I'll ever really get it."
But with what was going on with the clans of late, they would need all the paws they could get. She just wished she herself really knew what was going on.
