'I have to tell her.' Blizzardpaw thought frantically, watching Shiningpaw play with the kits. He'd been in the same spot since he got back from hunting. Just sitting in front of the apprentice's den, a vole untouched at his paws, just watching his best friend. She seemed to be unaware of his wary gaze as she growled playfully when the smallest kit rammed into her front leg. The same thought ran through his head more times than he could count. 'I have to tell her. But how, StarClan, how do I tell my best friend that I love her?' He thought miserably.
Venompaw sidled up to Blizzardpaw unnoticed. "You gonna eat that vole?" She asked curiously. He made no reaction to her question. She narrowed her eyes and waved her tail in front of his face. Still, no reaction. She followed his gaze and was only slightly surprised to see him watching her sister. "Oh, that explains it." She said thoughtfully.
