Spying

[Rosefeather]

Froststar crouched low, taking careful, quiet steps. She was only a few paces from where the rogues were camped. Many of them were sprawled out across the damp ground. She looked back at her apprentice, Crowpaw, and motioned for him to stay there. She bounded twice, now just on the edge of their camp. She watched carefully, looking for any sign that might help.

Crowfoot yawned, such days were boring to him. Because of the scary leader, they had to stay here.

Crowpaw made a face. Why couldn't he come? However, he obeyed, contenting himself with creeping forward just enough so that he could see what was going on. He grinned as an image of the scared rogues and fierce Froststar standing before them flitted through his mind...

Crowfoot stood up, scenting some of the Clan cats. Looking at his team, he knew they scented them as well. Grinning, he meowed out, "To whom do we our this visit to?"

Froststar smirked. They thought they were in control, but how could a leader make the mistake of standing upwind of them? No, this was her game, they would soon learn that. "You look well, for someone who was attacked." She stood up, tail motioning for Crowpaw to come, but stay where she had been.

Crowfoot snarled, it was that leader again.

Crowpaw darted out of his hiding place, needing no encouragement. He smirked at the rogues. They'd better hope Froststar was in a good mood today, or else they'd end up worse for the wear. He sat down next to Froststar, wrapping his tail around his paws..

Froststar ignored the rogue's snarl. "We came to see how you were faring. Looks like you couldn't be better." She stepped over some brush. Laughing.

Crowfoot glared at the leader and the kit. "We're feeling better is all." he mumbled.

"Yeah, sure, and Crowpaw here is a pebble." she chuckled. Turning serious, she circled the rogues. "We know what you've done."

Crowfoot shifted his weight nervously. "We've stayed right here, what are you talking about?"

Crowpaw smirked. Froststar had that rogue cornered and scared like a little mouse! By the time she was done with them, they'd have spilled all the beans about why they were truly here. He forced himself to sit still and watch.


(lol sorry if this is repetetive.. Crowpaw's actions I mean ^^

Froststar flicked her tail over his nose. "Oh, come now, aren't we great friends now? You can tell me." she whispered the last part in his ear, like it was a curse.

Crowfoot felt frozen, like snake venom was coursing through his veins instead of blood. One of the she-cats spat, "Friends? We are the least of aquaintances! Tell us what we did wrong! Just try!"

Froststar grinned huge. The look was more frightening than being told you're going to die. "What you did wrong?" She rasped. "I could tell you everything I know, but most of it you wouldn't know yourself." She then laughed, even the trees seemed to recoil at the sound.

Crowfoot felt chills dance up his spine. No matter how many times he met this cat, he would always think she was scarier than Silentkill. "E-e-ex-excuse m-m-me?" He finally managed to studder.

Froststar turned her saphire eyes to him. "I think you know what I mean. But why say it out loud? It ruins the fun, doesn't it?" She laughed once more, then turned away. "Remember, don't play with fire unless you want to get burned. But in your case, burned is too easy. No, a slow, painful death is more like it."

Crowfoot recoiled. The leader knew, and she was playing with them.

Froststar winked at Crowpaw. "Let's go."

Crowpaw grinned evilly at the rogues, and trotted off behind Froststar, head held high. Haha! It was a wonder the rogues didn't just flee the moment Froststar began to speak! He glanced over his shoulder; seeing the frightened rogue, so very much like a scared silly kit made his sides ache with supressed laughter. They wouldn't be causing any harm; the fear of Froststar gliding through the night like a ghost was too great, her vengeance too terrible. He grinned to himself and hurried to keep step with Froststar. Once they were out of earshot and sight, Crowpaw spoke up. "Whoa, you really scared the fur off of 'em!" he crowed, tail whisking through the air. "But... what are you planning to do with them?" he meowed, his elation turning to confusion. "ohhh, wait, are you just toying with them until you decide to let them go?" he meowed, looking up with a disconcerting smile on his face. He hated rogues. He'd heard alot about them from the elders, especially the havoc and pain and deaths they'd caused, so he felt no shame in scaring the pants off of them..

"Eventually. For now they're acting on the orders of another cat, so I don't fully blame them. I was secretly hoping for them to attack. I haven't fought another for awhile." Froststar thought back. Her last battle that she actually fought for something was probably when she chased Silentkill away.

"You haven't taught me to fight yet..." Crowpaw meowed. "But I've watched Cedarpaw do it, maybe I could fight them as well if we ever came to that?" he meowed, pleading with the white leader...

[Rosefeather]

Froststar nodded absentmindedly. "We've only just begun training, of course you haven't learned to fight yet! We'll do that tomorrow, okay? Then we can go around the borders."

Crowpaw leapt for joy, a true Skyclan leap. "Awright!" He purred, grinning. "I wonder how my brother's doing, both of them. Gee, I haven't seen Birchpaw or Cherrypaw in awhile." he meowed. His amber eyes lit up mischeviously. "and I think Cedarpaw has a thing for Hollypaw!"

[Rosefeather]

Froststar sighed. "StarClan save me."

"From what?" Crowpaw meowed, turning and giving his mentor a strange look.

"Apprentice crushes." Froststar groaned.

Crowpaw grinned. "Hahaha! What's so bad about them? Hollypaw's alright- for a she cat apprentice. She's not prissy and above getting dirty!" He meowed.
