Nearby a white she cat with and black unusual spot around her eye was hunting, but found nothing. Dewfeather felt as if she was eating herself alive. She was so hungry because of the leaf-bare and the shortages of food. She sniffed the air and instead of smelling prey (she narrowed her eyes at that, clearly angered) she smelled cat. Galaxyshadow, she thought instantly. She knew all her clan mates by heart now.
She padded up to him and meowed, "You look frusterated," butting in to his thoughts. She grinned, but it didn't settle the uncomfortable groaning coming from her belly.

Galaxyshadow sighed. "Hi Dewfeather. Yeah, just a little. I don't know why I even tried. Oh well. Someone sounds hungry," He meowed, giving her a wry grin as he listened to the rumbling of her belly. "Not scaring away the prey am I?"

Dewfeather looked down, embarrassed. "No," she said quickly, "My stomach is probably scaring them away!" She laughed, but it sounded half hearted. She gave him a weak smile. "Ah, well, are you hunting?" she asked.

Dewfeather looked down. "I'm just a little worried that the Clan has so little prey since it's Leaf-bare now..." She murmured. She flicked her tail. "Information?" she questioned.

Galaxyshadow didn't really want to talk about his mysterious heritage and his weekly search for any clues as to who his parents had been. "Yeah, just...stuff." he meowed shrugging it off. He turned his attention to the matter Dewfeather had mentioned, having noticed that the freshkill piles were dwindling..."little buggers are hiding now...What do you say to a hunt? I'm sure between us we'll weed out some prey from thier warms hidden nests." He rose to his paws, stretching his stiff back muscles.

Dewfeather was beginning to like Galaxyshadow, even though he was very mysterious about... "stuff." She knew he didn't want to discuss it, so she let it go. But questions still lingered. "Allright, we'll probably find something. But let me tell you, I'm not at my best when I'm hunting." She laughed. Dewfeather lifted her head and smelled the air. "Mouse," she said, "Mind if I get this one?" She dropped to the ground gracefully, her belly fur slightly skimming the forest floor.

Galaxyshadow dipped his head in aquiescense and watched as Dewfeather gracefully dipped into the hunting crouch. His ears flicked foward as he listened to the mouse's scrabbling, and waited for Dewfeather's pounce. He was thankful Dewfeather hadn't pressed him; talking about his parents and his seeming abandonment was a touchy subject for him- still painful these many many moons later. Enough of that, he thought irritably. There's time later for thinking about that, and it is not now, he chided himself

As soon as she was close enough, she lept, catching the mouse between her white paws. "Yes!" she meowed, "Another mouth fed. So much for bad luck!" She grinned at Galaxyshadow, who still seemed bothered. Forget it, she reminded herself again and again, He doesn't want to talk about it. "You're turn."

"Very nice catch," he purred, putting a facade on. "My turn huh?" He smiled and pinpointed the position of a squirrel. It was busy burying it's store of nuts, and would be an easy catch. He crept towards it, and then sprang- quickly dispatching the squirrel... "Beat that," he purred grinning..

"I will," she laughed, "Watch and learn. I'm the master." She grinned and slunk to the forest floor once again, searching for the mouse that she wanted to bite into so bad. She saw it in the corner of her eyes. When she was close enough, she pounced, but misjudged the distance. The mouse ran away just in time. "Mouse dung!" She turned, smiling at Galaxyshadow. "I lied," she meowed innocently.

Galaxyshadow roared with laughter. "Hahahaha!!! You're the master eh? Haha, I'd hate to see an apprentice then!" Dewfeather's innocent expression got him laughing again and it took a little time for him to finally calm down. "Whoo...haha... You sure you aren't a stand up comedy act?" He grinned.
