A tom pounced on a mouse. He hissed and sliced it. He ate, and them moved on. He spotted a cat. "What are you doing here?" he growled.

Echo stopped startled at the tom's hostility. "I only came to get a drink of water," she meowed calmly, "Surely you wouldn't fight me just for that." Her insult was slick, her tone evenly matched his. "I'm Echo, by the way. I'm from the forests beyond." Her strange green eyes glowed mysteriously. "I supposed you aren't from here either. I never seen you here before." She sniffed. "You still have the smell of the clans on you. Were you exiled?" She stared at the older cat watching his every move. She braced her body, hoping her bold words would not cause a fight.

Echo blinked. "that's a bold question for someone I have just met."
Then she thought, It would be a great way to get back at Walker!
"Fine," she said after a moment's pause. "But first, why were you exiled? Did you do something terrible? And have you seen my sister Lotus? A tortiseshell like me, only short-haired?"

Bloodglow stared at her. "No." he meowed, "I was exiled for... well..." He wasn't sure if he wanted to tell this cat, but he felt nice around her. "I nearly killed my kit. I regretted it, but then she nearly killed me. Then she ran off to go join some other Clan..." His voice ran cold as he spoke.
