OOC: Is it cool if i say that bristlefur couldn't go to the battle because she was to injured from the patrol battle?
Bristlefur stared out into the distance, not really looking at anything in particular. Her eyes over shadowed. She had heard much on the battle between Fireclan and Earthclan. But what was true? And what wasn't?
Who could she believe? She felt so out of place, like she couldn't even trust herself. Was that wrong, did that make her disloyal? She didn't know the answers to any on it. What was happening to her clan?
Closing her eyes against the hurtful confusion she forced the emotions from her face. She would rather have others think of her as a hot-headed she-cat then an emotional one. She was used to hiding and putting her emotions at bay any way. Opening her eyes once more she sighed, trying to bring herself to the real world.

Silentpaw bounded up to his mentor, sitting beside her so his pelt was touching hers. "Is this what being a warrior is like? Always fighting between other clans?" He closed his eyes willing the mist in the air settling on his black pelt. It was 13 moons old, and ready to be a warrior. More than ready. "Bristlefur?" he asked, "When will a be a warrior?"

Bristlefur purred gentle when her apprentice, Silentpaw bound up to her sitting next to her and warming her even though she felt hot. She turned kind eyes to him, "yes Silentpaw being a warrior is about fighting the other clans, defending your own clan even if....."she trailed off not sure if she should finish the sentence. Smiling at his next question she grinned, "very soon I'm sure, very soon indeed, would you like to practice so moves right now?" she asked pulling away from Silentpaw and sliding into a fighting crouch.

"Yes!" Silentpaw meowed excitedly. He circled his mentor playfully, claws unsheathed, and pounced landing perfectly on top of Bristlefur. He batted her head with his paws gently. And meowed, "I can't wait to become a warrior!"

Brisltefur grinned-which is so UN-Bristlefur-and shook her apprentice off easily before turning and swinging her sheathed paw at Silentpaw's head.

(oh shoot! i said unsheathed claws instead of sheathed! just pretend that didn't happen!)
"I'm not giving up!" he yowled and pounced again, biting softly on her tail. "Take that!" he laughed. He actually felt like a kit again! The last few days had been exhausting. Though he loved every minute of being treated like a warrior, he still wanted to act like a kit every once and a while.

Rolling out of the way Bristlefur held back a giggle, "okay, okay, lets practice your hunting crouches" she meowed.

"Great!" meowed Silentpaw, immeadiatly slipping like a pro into his best hunting crouch. "Like it?" he asked, "I've had plenty of time to practice!"

Bristlefur nodded approvingly, a grin splitting her furry muzzle. Silentpaw was her first ever apprentice, and maybe that was why she felt the need to grin at him when he smiled at her. She was usually mean and candid to others yet she was not to her apprentice. But she had always had a soft spot for younger cats, and kits.
"Very good" she meowed. "Now lets see if you can really hunt, we shall go now on a hunting patrol." Without waiting to see if her apprentice followed her or not she turned and bound from the camp.
OOC: the thread is in dry fields and it's called 'when the hunters stalk.'
