Burningstar was deep in thought at Foxcloud's suggestion. It was true that if Earthclan seeked Lightningclan's help, and since Skyclan had already attacked Fireclan's patrol, as reported, the only chance was Waterclan. Even though the Fireclan leader usually wouldn't have approved of this, it seemed as if everything that came out of Foxcloud's mouth was true and well-planned. Somehow, he couldn't help but believe every word she said.
OOC: what should we do about Berrydapple? should i just let Burningstar allow Foxcloud to bring a patrol to bring her back, or should he go himself? if he goes, he would find out what fireclan did without him knowing. =O if he doesn't... well then he's a big lazy furball if he does nothing. xP

OOC: He can go too. Treestar won't be in a good mood to "talk" or ask questions. All the Earthclan cats believe that Burningstar scedgueled the attack and sent Foxcloud to lead it, anyway.
IC: "I know a few cats in Waterclan myself. If I pull a few vines, they might agree." Foxcloud's eyes flashed briefly with an unknown type of joy. Though it wasn't the joy of a kit. It resembled more of a fox's when its eyes lay on unprotected prey. . .

OOC: If you read the plot plan, she sees Sunset with Forestfur and Thawpelt, and remembers that Flashpaw is Forestfur's son... it's not to hard to make a connection.

Burningstar nodded and turned to face the rest of the clan, and missed the sight of joy in Foxcloud's eyes. The sun was casting a scarlet glow over the forest as it began to set slower from the sky. "Firemist, Moonlitice, and Wildheart will accompany me and Foxcloud to Earthclan to retrieve Berrydapple," he announced and made his way to the camp exit. "And Foxcloud will go to WaterClan tomorrow at dawn to ask for their alliance." he added before heading out of camp towards Earthclan.
OOC: should as assume that this was before you posted in waterclan? or do you want to go again with a patrol this time to confirm it?

Moonlitice got to her paws quickly, and ran up so to not displease those above her. She felt uncomfortable. EarthClan had done nothing wrong. It was Foxcloud! The cat that had been her first friend...

Redwing listened carefully, his scowl deepening with every affirmation and decision. At the end, he harrumphed loudly, lashing his ginger tail as he whirled past the two apprentices he'd previously startled.
"If anyone needs me, I'll be in the Warrior's Den." He growled lowly, never taking his golden eyes off of the ground. "So don't need me."

Wildheart's eyes cast down at Foxcloud;s remark about WaterClan. She didn't know anyone in WaterClan!
Cherrypaw! Thought Silentpaw excitedly.... maybe this wouldn't end that badly....
Wildheart nodded briskly and padded up to Firemist. "I hope Foxcloud knows where she's going with this..."

Foxcloud paced evenly beside Burningstar, her shoulders slightly behind his own so that it was clear who was the leader and the deputy. The Fireclan she-cat cast her sharp amber eyes back, resting them gently on Moonlitice. Deep inside those amber eyes, lay the hint of love shared by a mother to its kit. Though the love was slightly twisted, tainted crimson.
Though her intentions soon rested on the distancing Flashpaw. Treestar's grandson. Foxcloud's shallow grin faded, and was replaced with a brief smirk. Don't mess with the Fox, silly little kit. For she knows tricks you little mind has yet to think of. Her mind purred darkly, taunting the Earthclan apprentice for his attempt to turn Burningstar against her will. She had worked hard to get the control she had now over the leader. So much time studying his reactions and decisions. Making choices she regretted but knew he would worship.
It was all coming together. . .
OOC: Yay evil Foxcloud! lol...unknowing to Burningstar, she already had talked to Waterclan! XD If he had suggested they not, she would have said they wanted to join together instead of her asking them to. ^^
Wonder if Foxcloud would be good at chess. She plans her moves five steps in advance a lot! o.O
Um...lets recycle the "Scarlet Darkness" thread for this. Not much time has passed between now and then anyway.

Wildheart glanced down at her paws and secretly dreaded going to EarthClan territory. Surely EarthClan would be angry still? We couldn't just... walk in right after we attacked them!! And she couldn't face Shadowprint... what would he say?
Silentpaw's paws twitched with jealousness. He wished he was picked to join the patrol... maybe Burningstar would see his training progressing...

Dreampaw craned to catch Flashpaw's eyes. Foxcloud mentioned Waterclan. That meant that Hollypaw was in danger!
"Burningstar," Firemist called out. "I will go on the patrol." She knew this was news that Foxcloud would dislike greatly.

Foxcloud froze, her ear twitched in annoyance at the prick of Firemist's voice. That she-cat will try anything to get out of this war! Even if Earthclan won't listen, she won't stop until there is peace. . . . her mind hissed, pointing out the odvious. "But, Firemist, who will watch the clan while we are gone? I can trust noone else with this job but you!" the Fireclan deputy purred softly, hiding the frustration in her mind.

IC: Burningstar paused, "Ok Firemist, you can join the patrol," he agreed despite Foxcloud's reason for her not to join. He believed that every cat had their freedom to choose.
He didn't know what Foxcloud could do. No, not yet.
With that settled, and not seeing whatever reaction his deputy had, he headed out of camp with determination in his bright amber eyes. He didn't know what was awaiting both him and the entire forest.
