Silentpaw snuck back to the camp, treading quietly behind foxcloud, and almost gave out of cry of relief when he saw Burningstar, but tried to keep his big mouth shut. Now was the time that Foxcloud was exiled from the clan and the rightfull deputy, Firemist would take his place.

IC: Foxcloud had to hold back a dark chuckle as Flashpaw stumbled in the leader's den. Though she knew Burningstar was watching, and that the awaiting ears of the cats waiting outside might hear. Instead, her amber eyes turned soft as she turned them on Burningstar. Tail stopped and lowered, it seemed like she had turned into a different cat in the presence of her leader. The normally sharp tongue of hers was even calmed. "Burningstar! I have so much to report! While I was hunting, I grew suspicious of the Earthclan warriors chatting near the border. They were in a patrol, and trying to work out a plan. But for what? Well that is why I hid in the bushes and listened in. They spoke in a hushed tone as they passed the Fireclan border. Apparently Treestar thought you had become soft with the idea of his friendship." Foxcloud shot a glance to Flashpaw, making sure he didn't speak out of turn. "Winter is harsh for Earthclan, it seems. Treestar wanted more territory. They were going to attack. So I did first. Gathering the first few warriors I saw, we charged in and gave Earthclan a warning. I had no time to explain why we were doing so to them, and now they think badly of me even more!" the fox red she-cat bowed her head shamefully, her eyes starting to glaze with sorrow as she continued. "Before you say it, I know my actions were quick. I should have told you. But I didn't want them to attack while you were gone! They could have gotten your kits!" Foxcloud's eyes sparkled as she continued to gaze shamefully at the floor. Bringing up the leader's young bundles of joy was sure to grab his attention. Her small grin of satisfaction snapped away instantly, as she rose her head to look upon Burningstar. Amber eyes searching his face to see if she had won.

Such lies! It pleased the she-cat to hear them. All for the better, though. With her to help Burningstar, she knew Fireclan would grow to be great and powerful. A dream every leader wanted. Weather they had the guts to say it or not. "When we returned, I thought I heard something. Straying from the group a bit, I found this little apprentice, spying on our territory! Probably was plotting how they would ambush us." this was the part Foxcloud expected Flashpaw to speak, if he hadn't already. She watched him intently with dangerous yellow eyes. They flashed a message; Sing, little bird. Sing all you like. No one will listen to a bird that will sing anything to save it's feathers...



OOC: If you don't get the bird thing, here is basically what she means;

"Say all you want. No one will believe a person who would say anything to save themselves from their fate..."

Firemist walked over to Shadowfire now that Foxcloud disappeared into Burningstar's den. "What's happened?" she whispered.

Flashpaw's blue eyes darkened with rage. "I have done nothing of the sort. Treestar couldn't be planning to attack FireClan, my father would know of it and he keeps nothing from me! While we were being wrongfully attacked tonight, I was outside the camp with some other apprentices, having being told not to fight because I am recovering from bat bites! Then she came around and dragged me here!" He doubted that Burningstar would believe him, and anger at Foxcloud's well-told lies made his heart beat with fury. But he had to give Dreampaw time to leave.

Burningstar sat down comfortably in his den as he listened intently on what his deputy had to say. Every few words, he nodded quietly to himself, though his fur bristled when he heard the part about Earthclan planning an attack for more territory. It seems that Burningstar has changed a lot; if this was before his kits were born, he would have been eager to go see for himself of what has happened. But at Foxcloud's mention of his kits, it was hard to force his fur to lie flat.

He believed Foxcloud. How could he not? All that sincerity that shone in her yellow eyes and the touching way she spoke of the clan's safety...

And then Flashpaw spoke. Burningstar's amber eyes flickered to the EarthClan apprentice. Indeed, he had several healing bat bites, but how could he so sure he wasn't covering up? For some reason, he felt the need to stand up for his cats. Irritation itched in his claws when the apprentice spoke out of line, but of course he was aware of his actions.

Treestar... He hasn't been very friendly at the last gathering. I should have known. he thought, waiting for anything else Flashpaw might be daring enough to add, or what Foxcloud had to say about the apprentice's rebuttle.

Flashpaw's eyes opened in despair at Burningstar's expression. He was believing Foxcloud. Worry seized his churning belly. Burningstar hadn't ordered the attack!

Outside in the middle of camp sat a bundle of red and white fur, puffed up in anger and confusion. Two golden eyes shown from within the mess of mud and hair, glaring off into the distance while their owner absently tried to wash his stained paws. Redwing's gaze flickered momentarily back toward Burningstar's den, his nose wrinkling at the scent of Foxcloud and the EarthClan apprentice. A growl rumbled softly in his throat, but the FireClan warrior suppressed it. What could he do?

Silentpaw's jaw dropped open in didbelief as he heard Foxcloud's dirty lie. And to think that Burningstar believed him? Surely, he was dreaming?

Wasn't he?

IC: Foxcloud kept her expression almost the same. Instead of twisted furry, like she would have acted with, the she-cat simply frowned disappointedly at the young apprentice. "No surprise you would lie like that..." Foxcloud mewed with only slight frustration. This took hard work, though she was used to curving her actions around Burningstar. It was still hard, though. Flashpaw being Treestar's son, all logic in her cleaver mind was telling her to snap the young tom's neck. Treestar would be devastated. On top of his sickness, their would be grief. Grief to make him weaker...

Foxcloud shook her head briefly, turning her amber eyes back to Burningstar. "Please forgive the apprentice for talking out of turn. He has probably been ordered to say many lies to get out of this situation. I'll leave his punishment to you, and only suggest upon you asking." the fox red deputy had to choke out her words. Such kind words to someone burned her tongue. It had been so long sense her tone had been this kind. So long sense...Foxcloud pictured Moonlitice, when she had still been an apprentice. The two used to laugh and play around. But now, it might scare a few cats if the uptight she-cat laughed.

Wildheart burst into the clearing, panting heavily. "Berrydapple has been injured!" she howled, "She is being taking care of by EarthClan. She was to fragile to me. She was drenched in her own blood."

Her eyes shifted to the scene before her. "Burningstar..." she murmured, relief flooding into her eyes. Why was Flashpaw still prisoner? she thought.

Silentpaw padded over to his half-sister. "Wildheart," he meowed sadly, "Burningstar believed Foxcloud's toxic lies."

Wildheart's eyes widened in disbelief. "Surely Burningstar is not that ignorant. You would think that Foxcloud's evilness would show?"

Silentpaw's head dropped, green eyes disappearing from her view. "I do not know...." he mewed quietly.

IC: Flashpaw's eyes burned with tears desperate to soak his calico fur. He angrily held them back, blinking his blue eyes rapidly. He could sense Foxcloud's hate, and shrank away from it, his mind whimpering in fear. He stared silently at Burningstar, knowing that the leader believed his deputy, and starting to really become afraid. He just hoped that Dreampaw had made a run for it, or this would all have been for nothing.

OOC: Thought it was time to get dramatic!

OOC: oooooo what to do what to do? =P very dramatic indeed; i wonder how this'll all turn out hm?


IC: Burningstar didn't notice that Flashpaw cringed as Foxcloud spoke; he could only see how gently he was putting things to help out this Earthclan apprentice. Usually warriors would be hostile to cat of another clan, but Foxcloud seemed to be just as caring to the prisoner as to any other Fireclan apprentice who might've broken the Warrior Code. He nodded in approval of her request, though he knew that Fireclan had no right to punish another clan's cat. "I supposed we should..." he wanted to go to Earthclan camp himself, bringing Flashpaw back, to see for himself what caused the usually friendly clan to "plot against" him. but before he finished his sentence he heard a loud yowl in the clearing outside his den.

His ears instantly flickered towards the voice; it was Wildheart. Just like a worried friend, the dark ginger leader bounded out of his den without a second word and stopped right in front of Wildheart, whose eyes were filled with fear. "Berrydapple's being treated in Earthclan?" he wanted to make sure he heard right; why would Earthclan treat his warrior if they were plotting at first? He turned to Wildheart, then Foxcloud, for confirmation.

OOC: haha, i know toxic lies. I was really tired! *shuns herself*

"It's true. I don't think they would do anything bad to her, I left her in good hands. She's unconscious and bleeding badly..." She hoped that Burningstar wouldn't be mad at her for leaving Berrydapple in EarthClan expecially after the fight. Her eyes showed her worry and sorrow. She nodded her head when he turned to her for confirmation.

Redwing was in the middle of staring hard at the "captured" EarthClan apprentice. He didn't even remember seeing him during the battle! Crossly, a growl rumbled in his throat, but it was abruptly cut off at Wildheart's yowl. The ginger and white tom's hackles rose at the thought of a fellow Clanmate being left in enemy territory, but, slowly, they began to fall as only more confusion set in.
