Whispering gently to herself, Moonrise looked into the Glassy Lake. "Sunset," she murmured. "Sunset." Slowly, the lake stilled and an image of a brilliant orange she-cat emerged. Her blue eyes exactly matched Moonrise's eyes, and she was talking with Treestar, Moonrise's love. Behind her was a light brown tom. "Forestfur!" Moonrise gasped. Also was an odd colored tom. "Thawpelt," Moonrise whispered, her pain apparant. "So they all found each other..."

Moonrise looked up. "No one is like Treestar," she whispered. "I had my Sunset, my Thawpelt, and my Forestfur with him. He is," she hesitated, "Their only link to me." She looked down. "I love him more then myself."

"I felt the same way once," Icebreath meowed, "My Splashtail. She was beautiful. She has a black pelt with white underbelly, and orange face."

"Treestar is the only cat," Moonrise hissed, pretending not to hear Icebreath. "The only cat ever to love me." She knew it was not true, she had always been popular with the toms, but Treestar was hers.

"But they are punishing my kits," she wailed. "Sunset is indifferent becuase StarClan will not show her the right path, Forestfur is sad because StarClan refuses to let him be happy and Thawpelt is unhappy for every reason catly possible because StarClan does not answer his plea for help. How is that not punishing?"
