Acornpaw padded slowly through the forest taking a stroll. No one seemed to care about her presence nowadays. All day long, she clung near her parents. It seemed to her that they were getting a bit worried about her not socializing and making much friends. She planned to "lie" to her parents that she spent the day playing with her friends. It was also another way to get out of camp. It seemed to her that it was stuffy there and it felt comfortable out here, in the big wilderness. She took a big whiff of air and looked up to the bright ocean sky. Do I belong here?

Dewpelt looked around camp for Acornpaw; he'd been busy for the past few days so he wasn't able to train his new apprentice. he felt so irresponsible right now, he felt like apologizing like crazy to her. he planned on taking her training first thing in the morning, but unfortunately he over slept and now Acornpaw's not even in camp...
He asked her parents, and they had no idea where she went except that she was out of camp. well, that wasn't any help.
He decided to track her, since it's a pretty good day and her scent was still fresh. it wasn't hard to find her, for she was slowly wandering near the flower patch. "Acornpaw!" he called out and hurried over to the smaller she-cat. "hey, i'm SO SORRY i wasn't able to train you, i feel so bad now and please dont be mad because i had to leave camp for several days and now i finally have time but i overslept so I'M SORRY!" he blabbered out, words all jumbled together as he breathed hard from such a long apology.

Acornpaw looked up startled. She didn't expect anyone to be with her. She thought she was a loner waiting for time to pass by silently with her presence. This was her first time seeing a cat so cheerful towards her. She burst out a fitfull of laughs. She felt like she haven't laughed or smiled for the last couple of days. Those days had been rather lonely. She got back to her serious look, cautious not to make her mentor mad at her. "Sorry" she whispered and looked down on her feet.

Dewpelt grinned, "that's ok. at least i have a lively apprentice, right?" he prodded Acornpaw with a sheathed paw, meaning she's free to do what she wants. "as long as you learn, alright? we'll have some fun!" he liked to combine lessons with fun and games; it helps remember what was learned, and also to make things more fun.
"so, it seems like u know the territories since u've already out here, no?" he asked, enjoying the sun on his pelt.

Acornpaw smiled at her mentor. She was starting to like him, she thought that all mentors were boring. This was something new to her. Acornpaw blushed. She wasn't that good. She did a lot of exploring by herself to kill time, it was better than sitting around watching apprentices play all day. She often got lost though, panicking each time. She tried to wonder off close to camp until she started to get familiar around her surroundings. "Sord of" she whispered, not looking up still.

Dewpelt shrugged and looked back down at Acornpaw. "Ok, i'll show you. in the FAST way!" he laughed and dashed off towards the lake, the furthest place in the territory. "this is a race!" he called behind him to his apprentice, flickering his tail telling her to catch up and run beside him through the whole territory.

To her surpise, Acornpaw laughed with glee. It was getting pretty interesting now. After a few tail-lengths away, she could finally catch up to him. They ran side by side across the territory. Her running skills were getting better now. Before, she would always trip on her paws while running. Now, after some self training, she could get it right. Something that she was finally proud of about herself. As Acornpaw ran, she did some thinking. She could finally answer one of her questions, one that really annoyed her about because she could never understand. What was a friend like? She did not make many friends so she could never get that right. Although Dewpelt was her mentor, she felt that he was like a friend to her. It felt great that she could finally answer one of her unanswered questions!

Dewpelt gave Acornpaw a huge smile as they ran, side by side to the lake. he could sense a slight change in the apprentice already, that she finally opened up her heart to the world and let out her happiness. happiness was contaigious, which was the best part.
they soon came to a large, dark lake, but Dewpelt didn't slow down. "Lake of the Darkness!" he called out and made a sharp turn to the right, his paws thumping purposefully on the hardened ground from the cold.

Acornpaw nodded, determine to keep the same pace as her mentor and not slow down. The ground was starting to harden now, but she could not bear to let her mentor down. She couldn't take it, after all her times, she seemed to fail a lot of people, including her parents. Something she was always ashamed of. No matter how hard she tried, it usually didn't succeed. Why? She would always ask, Why?

"as you know, this is our forest, famous in all the clans." Dewpelt breathed hard as he and Acornpaw dashed through the large trees, jumping over branches and bushes on their way. the dark brown trunks covered their view and it looked like they were speeding through a blur of brown. little creatures hurried away as the two raced through the forest at full speed. Dewpelt was trained for this, so he expected the same for Acornpaw. he came up with this idea, that they'll learn the territories, but actually his intention was to bring up the young she-cat's endurance and running skills. "tired yet?" he called, glancing behind him. he smiled to himself seeing that Acornpaw wasn't far behind; she was keeping up well.

Acornpaw nodded. Although there were tree branches in the way, she had to leap over them. Acornpaw was surprised at Dewpelt's question, she was still deep in thought. Was she tired? She thought to herself. NO! After all her life, she had little self confidence in herself. Running around the territory was no big deal! Right? How hard would it be? She asked herself bitterly. "No" she replied firmly. This was not a time to become a weakling, she hissed to herself. No matter how hard this training session is, I shall prove that I am worthy now. I am no longer a weakling! NEVER SHALL BE!

"Good!" Dewpelt was proud that Acornpaw had such confidence in training, and sped on ahead. it won't be long until they reach their last destination. the smell of heavy earth and stench of the swamp faded as the two arrived to a clearer area, much easier to run. light sounds of water trickling was heard as Dewpelt finally slowed down, taking deep breaths to calm his fast beating heart. He turned to watch Acornpaw make her last few steps until the two stood in front of the large river that marked the boundary between WaterClan and EarthClan.
"Great job, Acornpaw," Dewpelt gave her a playful and encouraging nudge as she arrived. "Now, scent the air." he intructioned, trying to be serious but burst out laughing. "sorry i just thought of the way MY mentor said that! it always made me laugh!" he chuckled then licked his paw. "Ok, so what do you smell?"

As she could see Dewpelt slowing down, she slowed down also. She took a few minutes of a breath taker and siged. Today, she had a pretty good workout. She was rather pleased at her mentor's compliment, for she had once had something good to remember about. Acornpaw nodded, understanding her mentor. Who didn't want to be a good mentor? "um....." She took a deep breath. "I sense um....WaterCanl and EarthClan cats around here." She replied without confidence. What would happened if she didn't answer it right? "This is the borders between Waterclan and Earthclan of course." she mumbled to herself which she could only hear.

Dewpelt nodded with approval. "good. remember their scents, then we're going to see how well you're hunting skills are." he purred and turned away from the border, not wanting the opposite patrols to catch them glancing over the border. "i'm sure you would have tried hunting by urself already." he added and started running again. "so, where do you think is the best place for hunting?" he asked after every hushed breath.

Acornpaw nodded. "Sure...." she whispered coarsly. She feared. She didn't want to take the test. I'll probably never pass it. As Dewpelt started running again, she slowly ran behind him. "Um....the forestry have lots of prey" she whispered with uncertainty again. She sighed. When will I ever get this right?

"That's right," Dewpelt meowed cheerfully. he heard the uncertainty in Acornpaw's voice again, like she was going through depression. what could he do to help? "let's go. and don't worry, it won't be like a test. just think of it as doing your best to bring prey to feed the elders." he smiled, slowing down a little to keep in pace with his apprentice.

As the two cats kept on running, her mind started wondering again. This was dreadful. On second thought, maybe training sessions weren't helpful at all! It just made things worse, making me more and more depressed. Sure...she could hunt...sure she could help feed the elders, but sure....will she do it right? Acornpaw sighed internally, deep in her heart, life was disasterous.
OOC: know what i mean? ;'(

OOC: yeah, i do. but come on, cheer up! =P it's the weekend!!!!!!!! btw, i told my mom about my marks. i was so glad she didn't yell at my like she did before. *sigh* so good! but im so nervous that in eng i might get a rewrite for the essay tho...ill DIE again.
IC: Dewpelt stopped. Acornpaw didn't look well at all. she looked like she was upset enough to cry. "what's wrong?" he asked, thingying his head. he was currently in cheer-up-a-friend mode. (lol) "don't you like hunting?" he was asking simple questions to get his apprentice's true feelings out, so she'll feel better than keeping all her sadness in herself.

Lightwing's eyes roamed across the land. Below her two cats crouched beside one another. One of them had her head hanging, looking depressed. The other seemed to be trying to cheer the other one up. She opened her maw to greet them. Then closed it. What if they didn't want her? For her to join them? Soon Lightwing had no choice. One of them looked up.
OOC:if you guys don't want me to join your roleplay just chase me out. if you want, that is....

OOC: Yeah, that's great! You mean all ur marks? Like what was her reaction? That's good then, it'll count for term 1 right? No, no, it's fine!
IC: Acornpaw looked up startled. "Oh...um...nothing" she replied adding a fake smile behind. She didn't know if it looked transparent or not, but all she didn't want was burdening others. No. not burdening, maybe interference? She couldn't tell. It was all too complicated. "No...hunting's fine. nothing's wrong Dewpelt...nothing." She added a fake smile again, trying not to show out her emotions. This also made her wonder again. Why was she always hidden in a tight bubble? trying to sufficate herself? She added a silently sigh, close enough for only herself to hear. Trying not to worry others, she looked up from the ground, out of the corners of her eyes, a shadow lurked out of the trees. At first, an istant panic roamed through her, after realizing that she was not an enemy, but an Earthclan cat, she nodded at her.
