OOC: Anyone can join! ;D
IC: A large frog sat on a small pile of pebbles. Its slimy skin was a smooth greenish color, that blended perfectly with the tall grass around it. The sound of a calm river came from close by. A large green leaf fell close to it, as it expanded its throat. There was the sound of grass bending, and a bush rustling. The frog foolishly stood still, looking into the sky. But then a pair of silver-blue paws crashed deadly close, and it used its powerful legs to hop away.
A silver-blue she-cat raced joyously after the small creature. Giving a faint squeal of glee every time she made it hop again. The apprentice had no intention of killing it. The thrill of the hunt was enough. Each pounce at the frog made it hop away once more, before it would pause in place. Tall grass brushed past her flank and face, as she crouched, and pounced again. But then the grass slowly got shorter, and shorter, and shorter, until it only lapped at her ankles. Her tail trailed behind her. Then the frog gave one last hop, and plopped into the water. The only thing left, was faint ripples on the surface of the river. The creature tucked its front legs in, and used its long legs to slowly swim with the current. Pondpaw slowly walked on the side of the river, and followed it. When it paused near the side, Pondpaw crouched down, and batted at the water's surface. Her lack of skill showing. The creature just dove deeper, and swam to the other side. The apprentice's eyes filled with disappointment.
"Now what?" She asked herself, sitting miserably on the riverbank. That was the only thing she could do. Her boredom at camp drew her out in the open, and the frog lead her here. She looked around for anything else to do. Some birds flew by above her, but they flew over the river, and into another clan's territory. Pondpaw gave a soft sigh, and crouched again. Her emerald eyes flicked back and forth, as she watched fish of every size dart by.

OOC: i'll rp with u! since i'm ur mentor, but i've also got Smokepaw! =P 2 waterclan cats! (*gives karma for good description*)
IC: Smokepaw quietly poked his head out of the water; he'd been swimming just to relax, and heard splashing from the bank of the river. Although his dark grey pelt didn't blend well with the water, he was quite far off from where another cat stood, mewing to herself.
There was a small pile of fish lying behind some bushes that he'd caught, then he decided to swim before going back to camp and resuming his apprentice duties. He remembered well when he first started training, and was actually SCARED of the water. It was an embarrassment since he was WAterClan cat and he wasn't even brave enough to go into the river. Now, however, he loved swimming, like it was what he was made for.
Smokepaw's dark blue eyes focused on the other cat, a bit smaller than him. Another apprentice he thought to himself and paddled a little closer without making the slightest sound, and watched from behind some leaves growing close to the water. Although he knew that this apprentice she-cat was pretty, he didn't think much of it. He's never been good at making friends, and has never chased any she-cats before. he was more of a loner, and he knew that none of the other apprentices would want to even talk to him.
That made him feel some dread, but he was used to it now; 10 long moons without a single friend.

OOC: Snowstep!!! *hugs* By the way, I like your idea for Snowstep and Thawpelt. Look at my other post for details. My first post, and I already get a karma point! Yay! YOU'RE my mentor? *has heart attack* or did I read that wrong? IC: Boredom still held the apprentice, as she watched blankly at the creatures below. A large fish lazily swam to the surface, and gulped at the air. Pondpaw chocked her head, and batted at the creature's head. It flicked away quickly, and splashed water at the blue-silver apprentice, as though to say, "Ha ha! You can't catch me!" Pondpaw's emerald eyes burn with anger and disappointment. She could still see the same large fish, sitting at the bottom of the river. It looked at her, slowly flapping its fins. Pondpaw closed her eyes, and shoved her head into the water. As she looked, the fish was still their, but all the others had raced away. Pondpaw pulled her head out of the river, and took a quick glance around, before jumping into the water.
The river was not as murky as she would have thought. The sun above sent beams of life giving light to the bottom of the river, and clearly lit up the large fish that still watched the apprentice. Her emerald eyes flashed to every object that moved, before she pushed off with her back legs. I'm a jumper, not a swimmer! Pondpaw protested to herself, before taking a swipe at the only fish that still floated near her. Her blow hit it right in the gills, and it slowly fell to the bottom, stunned. Pondpaw quickly grasped it in her jaws, and kicked her way to the surface. The area of water at the top of the river seemed slightly warmer.
As Pondpaw pulled the flapping fish out of the water, she reached out a paw for the ground, and grasped a hunk of grass. Every hair on her body was dripping wet, and the fish in her mouth kept slapping its tail on the side of her face. Pondpaw quickly placed the annoying thing on the ground, and quickly finished it off. The sun seemed warmer on her wet fur, but their was no time to sunbathe. She picked up her large prize, and began to walk to a bunch of leaves that were growing close to the water. The sent of fish swarmed her nostrils, and there was no way to know what would happen next, until she crashed into a ball of gray fur.
Pondpaw gave out a startled yell, and fell back. She blinked her eyes open, and saw that the gray ball of fur was actually another cat. Luckily another Waterclan cat. But he was also an apprentice. He had dark blue eyes, and was a little larger/taller than her. "I'm sorry." Pondpaw meowed quietly, hanging her head low, and expecting a angry lecture from the other cat.OOC: clumsy Pondpaw! lol XD

OOC: yeah, i'm ur mentor! i have 2 characters in WaterClan: Brightstream's gonna be ur mentor! =P well since all the others have apprentices or they're not active. =S oh did i tell u about the other plot Brightstream's in? *gives another karma* i can't believe u always post so good!!!!!!!!!
IC: Smokepaw stumbled back, the surprise in his eyes only appeared for less than a heartbeat before he regained his posture. He simply stood there for a few seconds, looking down at Pondpaw, before turning without another word. (he doesn't like to talk much, so dont get me wrong. XP)
Picking up two of his fish from his pile, he padded towards camp, since he always felt awkward with other cats around, especially a she-cat apprentice. It'll probably take a few trips to bring the rest of the fish back anyways, so might as well get started on it before going training or something; he hasn't seen Honeydew (his mentor) in a while.
A bird fluttered away from the branch above where he passed. Somehow, he felt like his stomach was fluttering too. How weird. Nothing showed on his face though; he's always been able to hide his feelings, whatever they were.

OOC: YAY!!! Pondpaw has a mentor! I don't know why I post so long...must be because I have a large imagination! ;D IC: When the harsh scolding didn't come, Pondpaw glanced up, and noticed that the other cat was walking away. Her heart sank. But then her emerald gaze slowly drifted to the large pile of fish. This tom is really good at fishing! Maybe he could help me out. Pondpaw thought to herself, before picking up two more fish. She quickly raced after the other cat, three fish flapping in her jaws. Her chest puffed up as her fast pace turned into a proud trot, her head and tail held high, in hopes to forget her embarrassing moment.
The other apprentice held a quick pace, and Pondpaw had to push herself to keep up. The three fish didn't help. A bird fluttered away from a branch above as they passed. Pondpaw struggled to keep her paw steps soft, just like her mother had told her. "Keep proud even in the most embarrassing moments, and step softly in the forest, who knows who is watching." Her mother's voice rang in Ponpaw's thoughts. But it was hard to keep up, and keep her paws stepping softly. But then something happened, and the root of a tree bent out and tripped her. (That is what a kid would say if you asked them how they tripped. lol) Pondpaw's eyes widened, and the fish flew from her jaws, as the ground raced to meet her. Her chin hit the ground first, followed by the rest of her body. Pondpaw slowly placed her paws under her body, and hunched up in a ball, her eyes tearing up. Don't cry! Don't cry! Pondpaw begged, scrunching up her face in a attempt to hold it back. Her claws dug into the ground, as she slowly looked in front of her. She could not see the other cat, because of the tears that clouded her vision, but she could see the three fish, that lay in front of her.
Why did I even follow him? Pondpaw asked herself, watching a bug crawl around close to her paws. The bug was a bright red, and it had dark black spots all over its back. She pictured her mother, soothingly licking her, meowing to her that everything would be alright. But then Pondpaw frowned, and remembered that she was a apprentice now, and that apprentices were beyond that. Then a familiar conversation came to mind,
"Mother, now that I'm a apprentice, I can't love you anymore. My duties are to important, and they leave no room for love." A young Pondpaw meowed to her mother confidently, after her apprentice ceremony. Her mother only rested her calm eyes on her, and gave her that, 'you are so young and cute' look. "I understand my dear Pondpaw. But I will still love you." she purred back, as they settled down for a nap in the sun together. Pondpaw looked at her with large eyes, "You will? Even when I'm a warrior?" she asked, rolling over to face her mother. The silver she-cat mother smiled at her kit, "Even when you are a warrior." Pondpaw continued, still holding her shocked gaze, "Even when I turn into a deputy, leader, or even a elder?" she asked again, not noticing how silly her conversation was. Her mother just gently licked her kit on the head, "Even when you are a deputy, leader, or a elder. I will love you until the day Starclan calls me away." Her mother answered, before yawning, and falling asleep in the sun's
But know Pondpaw was much older, and understood how silly she was when she said those words. Her mother would always like she said. And so would Pondpaw love her own kits, when she became a queen some day. But the pain in her chin was strong, and thrust her back into reality. Tears flowed, as her chin throbbed with pain, and she felt a few drops of blood come from her nose.

OOC: WOAH another long post!!!!!!!!! must...resist... giving another karma/reputation... oops too late. XP my imagination only reins sometimes. it's been horrible for months now tho...
IC: Smokepaw stopped in his tracks when he heard a thump, then soft sobbing sounds. He turned and glanced over his shoulder, only to see the pretty apprentice she-cat on the ground with blood flowing from her nose and tears from her eyes. Although Smokepaw was solitary and sometimes even called mean, he could never ignore a she-cat crying.
He felt an inner tug from his heart as he dropped his two fish and steadily padded to Pondpaw, standing in front of her for a few seconds, quietly watching her crouch there, tears dropping onto the grass.
Then he did something that he's never done before, to any cat.
He crouched, with even height as Pondpaw, and carefully wiped off the blood from her muzzle with a paw. His dark blue eyes were concentrated on cleaning the blood from her pretty face, and there didn't seem to be any feeling showing from him. However, everything in his life is an act. He never let out his feelings, and although he's tried to hide them, he felt them stir inside him. He was so close to Pondpaw that he could smell her sweet scent, even over the strong tang of fish and blood.

OOC: Sweet Smokepaw! lol I have to post short, because of the lack of time I have.
IC: Pondpaw felt something rub at her nose, and noticed that Smokepaw was gently rubbing away all of the blood from her nose. How could all the other apprentices call Smokepaw a selfish cat? Pondpaw wondered, looking into his dark blue eyes, and noticed something sweeter deep inside them. The deep cave that held this warmth only needed to be opened. "I'm sorry Smokepaw. I made you come back for me." Pondpaw meowed quietly to Smokepaw.
Pondpaw slowly got to her feet, and whipped the last bit of blood from her nose, before picking up the three fish. She placed each blue-silver paw over the root slowly, and padded a few feet forward, before turning back around to Smokepaw, the energy back in her teary emerald eyes. "Are you coming?" She asked playfully, before racing off into the distance.
OOC: Watch out Smokepaw! Don't let Pondpaw get up a tree!

OOC: what do you mean by up a tree?!?!? is she gonna climb a tree or something? 0.o ehh.... since i dunno i'll post something more random. XP
IC: Smokepaw quickly stood up, kind of unsure of what he was doing, a blushed a little although it was barely visible under his dark grey fur. Giving his paw a couple of licks, he picked up his fish as Pondpaw thanked him and went on ahead like she wasn't hurt at all.
I'm so weird he thought to himself and slowly followed, wondering why he went back to help, and how he was so careful like he was tending to something precious. he just confused himself as Pondpaw disappeared out of sight.
A bit of worry clouded his mind and Smokepaw quickened his pace, his wonders thrown aside as he looked around for the silver apprentice, his scent glands complete covered up by the stink of fish. Then he stopped. He took his time observing his surroundings; there were ferns everywhere, and the tall, wet grass coated his fur with water though his pelt was still wet from swimming a while ago. It seemed like everything was silent, except for a little rustling of brambles here and there; he wasn't sure if it was Pondpaw or some little animals. His eyes were wide as he blinked, trying to keep his head up from the weight of the fish, and it seemed like he was the only thing alive in this green scenery. Although there weren't that many trees because of the wet, there wasn't a bare spot in this place at all. He knew it well, for it was close to the camp territories, but not many cats came here. the lack of pawprints and the tall growth of grass proved that. since it the rain from the nigh before, everything was wet and cool, though it was getting colder as leafbare creeped closer. a cold breez sent a shiver down his spine as a drop of water fell onto his forehead. what am i doing here? he asked himself; he felt like he was in a trance, and that he was somewhere he's never been to before.
a loud russling in the bushes brought his thoughts back to reality...
OOC: so sorry there was too much description! X.x" kinda got off topic, huh? i just had an urg to write all that... dont kill me! 0.o u can make pondpaw suddenly pounce at him or smth if u're bored. XP

OOC: Don't worry! I bet this hasn't happened in a long wile to you....*gives karma point* ;D And yes, that is what I kind of meant by that. Remember her bio? *grin*
IC: Pondpaw placed her fish over a nearby branch. Her claws firmly hooked the rugged bark, as her emerald eyes watched threw the leaves below her. It was unknown how high she was above the ground, but her heart raced, after the rapid climbing she had done, to get up here quickly. The silver-blue apprentice watched, as the dark grey tom padded below her. He stopped, and glanced around. He can't find me! This is perfect! Pondpaw purred playfully to herself. But then one of her three fish slipped from its branch, and fell into a bush, making it rustle. Smokepaw looked at it, but strangely didn't do anything. Pondpaw bunched up her hind legs, and narrowed her eyes to slits. With one power full jump, Pondpaw felt herself fly threw the air, and briefly hang there. Then gravity took over, and quickly brought her down. Pondpaw couldn't help but laugh slightly, as she imagined Smokepaw's face when she landed on him. She outstretched her paws, as she came closer, and closer, and closer to her target. "Banzi!" Pondpaw yelled, before she landed on top of the grey cat. Everything was still, as she rolled off of Smokepaw, and laughed playfully to him, placing a paw on his shoulder.

OOC: nnnooooooooooo i didnt get the karma! *crieas* lol! ah evil pondpaw! jkjk!
IC: Smokepaw's trance was disturbed by the sudden meow from ABOVE him, and hissed with surprise as he tried to fight off his "attacker", before he noticed that the slim cat on top of him was none other than Pondpaw. He looked over to her as she placed a soft paw on his shoulder, his dark eyes blinked with wonder and surprise.
"what'd you do that for?" he muttered and got up, his emotions once again drained out of his eyes within a heartbeat. shaking dust from his dark fur, he picked up the fish he dropped and headed quickly towards camp without a second glance back. it looked like Pondpaw got on his nerves, but he was actually hiding something by actuing a different way; his tail twitched from side to side as he set a fast pace towards home.

OOC: There we go, NOW you got the karma. YAY! YOU ARE UP TO 8!!! My favorite number! I may be taking the hints the wrong way, but I think Smokepaw has a little crush on Pondpaw! lol IC: "What'd you do that for?" Pondpaw froze, and her eyes filled with joy no more. Smokepaw's words seemed like the bitting bitter winds of leaf-bare. As the dark gray tom stomped of, Pondpaw jumped to her feet, and raced after him. Smokepaw set a swift pace, and Pondpaw had to really struggle to get at his side. The slim silver-blue apprentice she-cat raced in front of him, and placed herself in his way. "Why do you always avoid me? If you could get the hornet out of your fur for one second, you would see that I only want to be you friend!" Pondpaw yelled in frustration at Smokepaw. Silence. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath. A leaf did not fall, and no creature rustled threw the undergrowth. Pondpaw was breathing heavily, and not just from running. The frustration and anger was making her heart race, but it didn't last long. The silver-gray apprentice felt her eyes water, and hot tears roll down her cheeks, as she turned away from Smokepaw, and ran blindly into a group of thorn bushes. Once deep inside its wild branches, Pondpaw curled into herself, and cried alone, just like she always did.
She never liked it when other cats saw her cry. Only her mother ever got to see her, but that is because that is were she would normally go. The wet leafs (or is it leaves?) of the thorn bush dripped onto her pelt, and it seemed as if it was raining. It seemed like the thorn bush was holding Pondpaw in its arms, and crying with her. Why can't life be easy? It can't just be about catching a few mice, having fun, or tending to the elders? Pondpaw thought to herself, as she tried to end the flow of tears with a few swipes of her paw.OOC: I know Smokepaw was trying to hide "something" *giggles*, but Pondpaw can get her feeling hurt easily. Such a drama queen...

Smokepaw stopped in his steps as Pondpaw spat out her thoughts of him; was he really that horrible? he couldn't help but think about that, but as he was going to snap back at her, since he's being the bad tempered Smokepaw, he only caught a glimps of her running into a bush and sounds of muffled cries came from it.
it felt like his heart just crashed to the bottom of his stomach.
was i always like this? he never knew avoiding a cat could make them so sad; nobody ever cared. the only reason he ignored other cats was because he was afraid to face them, afraid of what they think of him. because of that, he pretends to never care about what others think, but inside he knew he was simply avoiding the truth.
not knowing what to do, he could only stand there, opened mouthed for a little while because giving a sigh, and slowly went over to the bush where Pondpaw hid. it defied all his mind and maybe even his dignity, but he made himself; he caused this and he's going to fix it. hey, maybe even be nice for once in his life.
The bush was big, and there was a slight clearing in the center beside the trunk that loomed over them like a tree. it was dark, but he could see the faint outline of the pretty silver cat. he pretended not to see her cries as she wiped off her tears, and sat down a tail length away from her, looking down at his dark paws. how should i start this...?

IC: Pondpaw glanced up, but only with her eyes. The outline of the dark gray apprentice stood before her. The silver-blue she-cat felt anger surge in her chest. "So now you decide to pay attention to me?" Pondpaw snapped at Smokepaw, scotching back, until she felt the stump of the thorn bush behind her. Her voice didn't seem like her own, and it startled her how angry it seemed. This isn't me...Pondpaw thought, but her mouth still shot more harsh hisses at Smokepaw. "You always had what I didn't! My father died before I was born, and no one ever liked me. My mother is all I have, and now she might die from greencough! Other apprentices at least ask you to play with them!" Her sharp and bitter words could slice threw the the bush, and the bark on trees if they were solid. But then a kit's voice rang in her head, and tore threw the rage.
"I just made up this great game! Want to play?" A gray tabby kit asked her kin. "Even better than the leader and rouge game?" one asked, looking at the gray tabby. "Definitely! Here is how you play. Everyone will get a name of a type of prey, then as your name is called, you can join in!" The gray tabby she-cat purred, as each kit got in line. A your Pondpaw raced out from the nursery, and quickly raced to the end of the line, flapping her tail happily. The gray tabby slowly went down the line, naming of each cat, and giving them a name of a different type of prey. "Tigerkit, you are a mouse! Lilykit, you are the fish. Goldkit, you are a shrew. And Pondkit..." The smoky gray tabby frowned at the sight of the odd colored kit. "You are the...er...the bug!" Pondkit just smiled at the other she-cat, and nodded her head approvingly. But as the game started, and each kit began to yell out different prey names, Pondkit sat alone, awaiting the time for someone to yell, "bug!" so she could join in.
"A bug doesn't belong in the fresh-kill pile..." Pondpaw meowed sadly, fighting the urge to cry again. It seemed at Smokepaw was confused at this, because he didn't speak. Or maybe he had, but she was too deep into her memory that she didn't hear him. Pondpaw looked up at him, her eyes glazed over with sadness, "I was always the bug, and still am. You don't know how that feels." The silver-blue she-cat whipped her eyes again slowly.

"How would you know?" Smokepaw hissed under his breath, trying not to show anger though his eyes betrayed a fire burning within his dark eyes. You've never been the kit that their own parents didn't love, have you? his heart raced in his chest as his mind cried out. that's how his life was; his parents gave up on him since he was a kit, because he was 'worthless', as his father had said. of course, his parents have new kits now but he's never seen them yet; they must be more loved than he was.
he had become the only kit, now apprentice, that nobody cared about.
but he didn't know Pondpaw's past; he's always thought she was one of those perfect cats that are so popular. because she's so pretty, and even though Smokepaw's only seen her from afar before he knew she was fun. he never thought any cat would make her an outcast, like he is. suddenly he felt sorry for her; at least Smokepaw was used to being like this, but he could see that Pondpaw was not.
his heart took over again; he looked up at her and, though reluctantly, took a few steps and stood in front of her. hoping that Pondpaw wouldn't turn away, he crouched down and touched his nose on the slim she-cat's shoulder, closing his eyes and relaxing for once in his life. "Don't worry, I'm here."
Comfort. Maybe this was the best for her; for the both of them.

OOC: This reminds me of something....a guy that is sharp tongued, and a girl that can get her feelings hurt easily...the guy feels bad about yelling at her, so he tries to contain his anger...DANG!!! I bet I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night, and yell out the answer! WHAT IS IT?!?!? *bangs head*
IC: Smokepaw for once didn't snap at her. Instead, he mumbled something under his breath, but Pondpaw didn't want to know what he said. But then something happened, and the silver-blue she-cat apprentice was surprised as Smokepaw took a few steps and stood in front of her. Her first instinct was to turn away, and sulk some more, but that isn't what Pondpaw wanted to do. He crouched down and touched his nose onto her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm here." Pondpaw was surprised how comforting his words were. He was like the father Pondpaw would never have. The slim apprentice leaned into his chest, and snuggled her face in his warm dark grey fur. It wasn't surprising to her that she got his fur somewhat wet, as her tears came back, but this time, not as harsh. "How long will I be the bug? When can I be a black bird, or maybe a water shrew? Will there ever be a time when you are not judged by what makes you yourself?" Pondpaw asked with a sad, and raspy voice. This was true. It was why she wasn't liked. It was because she had such a different fur color. And her eyes. They were a stunning emerald. "Such a odd type of cat!" they would tell her. "How can you have blue fur, and green eyes? That is so weired!" the horrible voice clawed at the back of her mind. "Do my fur and eye coloring make me...." Pondpaw hesitated. Hoping that she wouldn't have to finish her sentence.

"no, don't worry." Smokepaw never noticed his mentor was around; he didn't even scent her. He just stayed at that position, leaning towards Pondpaw as she leaned against his chest. He didn't know why, but he liked it; he wanted time to last like this for longer. That was how he felt.
But then his mind pitched in, and he quickly looked up and around in case they were being watched. he blushed as he stood up and avoided looking at Pondpaw, "We should get the fish back before they dry up." For once he tried to be nice, and although he felt shy now because of that, there was a voice inside him that urged him on.
He didn't want to look at Pondpaw though; she was too pretty. and there was something in his heart that felt like it was being pulled out by the she-cat apprentice; something that's been dead all this time.

OOC: Sorry for the long wait. lol, deep deep deep deep deep inside him! XD
IC: Pondpaw felt Smokepaw look up, and she shyly pulled away, noticing how strange it must seem that she just seeked comfort in a cat that was not kin. But the silver-blue apprentice looked around slowly too, rolling her gaze threw the bushes, and trying to look deep inside each bush. Something odd inside a nearby bush made her freeze. What seemed to be a outline, moved slightly every so often. "Smokepaw...." Pondpaw meowed silently, flicking her ear to what seemed to be a enemy cat. The swift apprentice felt every muscle in her body become bunched up.
With one single powerful push, Pondpaw raced swiftly to the bush. It was like the air parted so she could move quickly threw. She stopping briefly, so she could make a strong leap threw the air. The leafs of the bush raced over, and past her face, as she crashed threw the bush. Pondpaw's emerald eyes saw orange, before she landed on top of a larger orange cat. This cat was a warrior. What was I thinking! I can't take on a warrior! But Pondpaw held strong, ready for the cat to react.

Smokepaw dropped his fish again instantly and hurried over to the bush where Pondpaw jumped into. his fur rose at first, until he scented that it was the familiar scent of his mentor, Honeydew. He cleared his throat and simply stood there, frowning at the older she-cat. "What're you doing here?" he asked like he was leader or something, making it clear that she was no enemy cat.
OOC: hey Thawpelt, i have a GREAT idea for Pondpaw! u know, there's a prophecy right now (it's in the plot page for site plot), and Smokepaw's in it. well, to make it more interesting (and like the prophecy in the REAL WARRIOR BOOKS) we could have Pondpaw follow him and the 5 other cats for the quest!!!!!!!!!! won't that be SO COOL?!?!?!?! if u wanna, go read the thread at camp (Smokepaw's dream or smth)! i can't wait! =P
