Blazepelt knew that she was waiting to see if he would ask her anything else. "Do you have something on your mind?" he asked letting out a low purr. He looked around at the trees and how their leaves were changing color and instead of being green were now red, yellow, and orange. His green eyes took everything in making sure nothing was out of the ordinary.

Autumnsong smiled. "i have everything on my mind. the seasons and the animals and the colors in a sunset," she took a deep breath of crisp leaf-fall air. "and how when the sun comes up, the yellow of the sunrise fades into blue, but is never truly green. and how sometimes, a snowflake can land right on our nose, and stay there, perfect, sometimes for a full minute before it melts..." she trailed off, watching the white clouds in the distance longingly. how she wished they would roll in, and release the snow they held within them on the two of them.
"how about you? anything on your mind?"

"Just thinking about the clan." Blazepelt said lazily. His eyes sparkled as he listened to her go on. Snapping out of his dream-state he got up, "Well we'd better get back to boarder patrol." he said regaining his usual tone. He looked at her, "Well are you coming or do I have to carry you like a kit?" he asked jokingly.

Autumnsong laughed, rolling to her paws. "Not if i can help it."
she gave another glance at the clouds rolling in. they were nearly over them now. perhaps they really would get snow.
"Well, better get going before someone comes out to check on us." she mewed, setting off with a bounce in her step.

Blazestorm followed her keeping in her tracks. "So you think we'll get snow?" he asked as he came up beside her.

Autumnsong opened her mouth to answer, when a perfect snowflake landed directly on her nose. she lauged, turning so Blazepelt could see. now more were falling, large and fluffy and just the way she loved for snow to be.
"try to catch one on your tounge! it's even harder when you're moving." she called, continuing to pad along the border, her jaws parted and sandpapery tounge out to catch the falling ice crystals. a few flakes stuck to her pelt, while most started to cover the ground, sticking to grass and leaves.
