Welcoming disaster

"The tribe?" The silver she cat narrowed her eyes. "I haven't heard of this tribe before.. Why have they shown up now of all times? And... is this tribe possibly behind the strength of Fireclan? Is Foxcloud allied with them?"

Crowkit smirked. No cats could take down or out smart waterclan, not with Froststar and Lakeripple leading them....

Froststar sat down, sweeping her tail around her claws. "The Tribe is lead by Silentkill, I hope you've heard of her, at the very least. They're a huge band of rogues who want only to kill. They've sharpened their skills to kill, the kitty-pets are afraid of them, and other loners or rogues either hide or fight. The Tribe has been dorment for moons." Froststar frowned, knowing Silentkill has been biding her time, waiting for the Clans to become weak. "I don't think they've teamed up with Foxcloud, since Silentkill hates Clan cats. Over half the Tribe are spies for someone else, and they're the group Redfur is leading. We're hoping to convince them to come to our side." Froststar paused, finally revealing her plan. She could only hope to StarClan that it woul work.

"Err... ahh.. No... I've never heard of Silentkill." Wolfstorm stuttered, though it wasn't her fault. Being deaf tended to mean that she only "heard" when she was concentrating and looking at the other cats, as she was doing now.. But no cat knew that, except for three.. The silver tabby coughed self conciously. "Do you really think they'll come to our side? What incentive do they have? Most of them look like Tribe life suits them, but perhaps I'm missing something?" She meowed..

Froststar kept calm. It was better to not know about Silentkill, yet, Wolfstorm needed to know the truth, every bit of it. "Silentkill was once known as Silentrun, an extremely lethal and agile cat. Even in a full sprint, her steps were silent, making her the best hunter. But she wanted more. So she killed her brother to prove to the already existing DeathClan that she was qualified to lead them. She changed the name to the Tribe of Dark Deaths. Quite a mouthful, eh?" She purred, breaking the confused tention. "She was a WaterClan cat. And also my sister. She killed our brother, Whitemoon." She paused, feeling better to reveal this dark secret. "I think the spies will, since most of their alliances are elsewhere, unconcerned with the Clans. Redfur will bring some of them to the Gathering, since Silentkill did order them not to attend, or the Clans would figure it out. Now, do not tell anyone any of this. If we want to catch thm with their jaws in the vole(just made that up, another saying of "Catching them redhanded or with their hands in the cookie jar ^^), we'll have to go along."

Lakeripple plopped Crowkit on the ground, and nudged him, glaring at him to keep up. She had never heard Froststar's story in such depth, though she knew the basic principle.

Wolfstorm looked aghast. "How could a cat kill their own brother? And... She is your sister?" She lapsed into a stunned silence. How must it feel for Froststar to hear and see her sister's atrocious acts? "Of course I won't say a thing.." Wolfstorm murmured, her eyes glinting with steel as her mind ran through what Froststar had said....

Crowkit looked up at the sky. So that was what happened... She had hinted about her brother and sister, but... he was hearing the truth for the first time. He kept the pace besides Lakeripple, stumbling a bit when he forgot to look where he walked..

(lol nice! I like that expression -'jaws in the vole' ^^)

Froststar kept her head high, unwilling to let Silentkill's acts control her emotions. "She was never caring. She was an ambitious and talented cat, she could've gone far, but instead, she lives in the Dark Marshes, surrounded by cold-blooded killers. I'm ashamed to say she was my sister, but I rarely think of her as such these days. My sister was Silentrun, she is Silentkill. Whitemoon was smiling when she killed him. His dieing words were "I knew this would happen." I was never more angry in my life. I lashed out at her, and one day, I'll show you her carcass and were she has a long scar running from her throat to her hip." Froststar tried to smile, somewhat proud at her accomplishment. She was the only cat to lay her claws on Silentkill.

"He knew that Silentkill intended to kill him? Why didn't he say anything? Surely he must have known the trouble her bloodthirsty nature would cause when he knew she would kill him...Did he love her and hope she would change? That's the only reason I can think of that would explain his reaction.."

Crowkit was impressed; Froststar had dealt with Silentkill like no other cat! "How did she escape? A scar like that- wouldn't that mean she'd bleed to death?" He meowed.

(how strange- I'm writing a story in which one brother kills another, yet he isn't angry- he loved his brother despite that and ultimately his death brings about a life change (for the good ) for his brother =P)

Froststar almost giggled, "Whitemoon was much more complicated than that. When he was a kit he would always say, 'I'll be in StarClan because of my family.' When I met him in a dream, he told me that his death was part of a huge plan. He never regreted not fighting back when she caught him in the forest. I still wonder today why he didn't hate her." Turning to Crowkit, her blue eyes held secrets she would never tell. "Dark power helped her recover. After I had sliced her, over 20 rogues came and surrounded her, leaving without a sound. And do you want to know the scariest part?" Her fur rippled in chills, she was the only one who had seen this.

(lol it's not finished.... nor is it warrior cats.. it was my own story that I came up with *shrugs* but thanks- your interest in it really helps ^^ )

Wolfstorm tilted her head to the side. "A plan? So Starclan must have shown him this when he was very young... It takes alot of bravery to know your death is coming and live with that knowledge." She meowed.

Crowkit stared with wide eyes as he listened to Froststar. What was scary enough that Froststar was afraid?

Froststar nodded, "Yes he was brave." Noticing Crowkit's interest in the scary part, she winked, promising a story later. "Now then, let's go back to camp. I will come back and watch them later. I will wait for Redfur to contact me before I start anything huge."

Wolfstorm dipped her head in acknowledgment, her mind racing as she considered all that Froststar had told her. "Okay. They'd better not get into trouble is all I say.." Wolfstorm grumbled. "I'm taking Painpaw, my apprentice out training. Should I avoid their area or go about buisiness as normal?" She meowed as they approached the camp..

Crowkit grinned to himself. He loved stories, and real ones? Even better! He couldn't wait for Froststar to tell him what happened. He hopped-skipped alongside Lakeripple....

Froststar considered the options. "Avoid them. We'll wait until some more of the apprentices are warriors before we start taking shifts to watch them. Please asess all the apprentices soon. I'll even check their training progress soon."

"Of course. Thanks Froststar." Wolfstorm meowed. Painpaw was such a handful, and his moping rarely let them get much training done. She wanted to see him grow into a great warrior and become more friendly towards other cats, but...She hid a sigh. She'd push him harder tomorrow, she thought resolutely, and have a talk with him...

(um... could you or Lakeripple reply in Helping an Apprentice (Shining and Wolfy?) Ripplestream has sent Cedarpaw to get either or both of them, ^^; )

Froststar nodded, then letting her playful nature come through, she turned back to her Clan-mates and meowed, "Race you back to camp!" She bolted away, laughing.

Wolfstorm grinned. Now they were talkin'! She pelted after Froststar, her laughter ringing out...

Crowkit squeaked as Froststar suddenly broke into a sprint, Wolfstorm right behind her. "Heyyyy.. That's not fair! My legs are so much shorter than yours..." he complained..
