The little kit laughed as her father dangled his bushy tail in her face. Giggling, she turned to her brother. "Come on Skywalker, play with us!" she begged, pawing at him with her tiny little blue-gray paws. He shook his head. Pulling out a playful growl, Raincatcher jumped onto him. "Hey!" Skywalker yelled, batting at her belly in an unsuccessful effort to cast her off. She just laughed. Nothing was ever wrong in her tribe's caves by the great sea. They were safe there, with fish basically falling at their paws. Everything was good here, or so they thought. Everyone fell silent. Not noticing, the kits continued to scuffle, rolling right onto their Momma's paws. She put her paw down on them, and then the two heard the rumbling. Suddenly, a scream went up into the air, and everyone was running. A great wave was coming. Gasping, Raincatcher's daddy grasped her scruff and pulled her towards a great forest. "Skywalker!" Raincatcher called, craning her neck, desperate to find her brother. But her dad wouldn't let go. The wave was upon them. It carried Raincatcher and her father father toward the forest. Her dad regained his footing and started running again. Amazingly, the two made it two the forest. Her dad dropped Raincatcher, and pushed her towards the trees. "Go Raincatcher, there are cats there that will help you," he said softly. "I'm going to go find your mother and brother... And I will see you in two moons. Count on it." "Bu-but Daddy!" Raincatcher shrieked, staring at the trees. "You will stay here Raincatcher. Be a good girl." With that her father nuzzled her one last time and ran off into the distance. "Make me proud!" he called back. Raincatcher never saw her father again.-To be Continued-

Nice work, Lakeripple! ^^ But...they don't get their names until they are made full Hunters/Guards/Warriors/what ever their job will be. And the mother had the two kits before Lakeripple was seperated and her dad saved her. D=
Forgive me, I'm being picky. >_<"
You make me want to do one on one of my cats. o.O

-continued- Blinking her eyes open, the blue-gray kit glanced around in an unfamiliar den. She sat up, still glancing about. There was a gray she-cat, and two gray kits next to her. The she-cat smiled down at nuzzled Raincatcher. "Glad you are awake Lakekit, you hit your head pretty hard," she whispered softly. "Huh?" Raincatcher mewed. "Who are you? Where am I? And I'm not Lakekit, I'm Raincatcher!" The she-cat mewed softly. "Sure you are honey. Maybe it's best if you sleep some more." Raincatcher shook her head. "NO! I want to see my daddy!" She ran out of the den and into a busy clearing. "Poor dear," she she-cat mewed. "But it's best if she thinks she was born here and it was all a dream..." Raincatcher ran around the clearing like mad, desperate to find a way out and back to her father. "Daddy? Daddy!" she squealed, running into cat after cat. They all chuckled and got out of her way. Staring around, Raincatcher was forced to realize the terrifying truth. She was stuck here forever.-To be Continued-

-Continued- The moons past in a slow parade, and Raincatcher forgot everything of her former life... just the lingering scent of her brother in her nostrils remained. She took on the name Lakekit, and couldn't remember that she had ever been anyone different. Soon the entire Clan couldn't remember that she wasn't Clan born. Lakekit mourned when her foster brother, sister, and mother died of a particularly bought bout of greencough. She herself was unaffected, though she was sick during the time. Lakepaw was made an apprentice to a kind warrior named Oceanpeak. She threw herself into her studies to prove her loyalty, believing that her father had been a LightningClan warrior...
The mouse dashed toward its hideout. On dainty paws, Lakepaw followed it at easily caught up and broke its neck. Sighing with pleasure, she flopped in the bright greenleaf sunlight and began eating her catch. Out of the corner of her eye, Lakepaw saw gleaming amber and a glossy tabby pelt. She let out a mrrow of pleasure, and scooted over, making room in the sunshine. The pelt walked closer toward her, and suddenly there was a brush of fur to her side and an intent gaze staring at her. The tom laughed. “Hope you aren’t on a hunting mission Lakepaw, wouldn’t like to see you getting in trouble!” Lakepaw pushed the other apprentice’s side playfully with her white paw. “Come off it Eaglepaw, you know there is more chance of you running off to become a rouge than there is of me breaking the Warrior Code! Don’t tease me… I’m not a subject of your little games!” Eaglepaw laughed louder and stood up. “Really Lakepaw? Wanna bet?” Growling softly, Lakepaw crouched low and flicked her tail. “I bet I can take you!” She lunged at the tom, and the two tumbled down a small slope, landing in a tangle of fur at the bottom. Their playful mews could be heard all the way to the FireClan border, and ran all around them.
Walking side-by-side into camp with tails intertwined, the rest of the Clan stared on with amused eyes. Lakepaw and Eaglepaw couldn’t see, couldn’t even comprehend what was happening, for this had never happened to them before. Love of a mate is not like love of a family member. It is stronger, and more fragile, easier to break as trust is hard to build. But it seemed as though these two apprentices didn’t need time… they were sure of their life before them, sure that they would stay together as long as they lived, sure that there love was as deep of the sea, deeper even, destined to never die. And StarClan watched and approved.
The sun was setting below the horizon, bright, staining the clouds orange and pink. Lakepaw held her breath, stood brushing pelts with Eaglepaw, as Froststar leaped up top the Great Rock. She shivered all over and felt tingling begin in her paws. The great leader raised her head and stared down at her assembled Clan. Hope for the future was etched over every inch of her expression, happiness would be an understatement for the joy she felt at this ceremony. The Clan was growing strong again, finally. And finally it would exit from the dark hole it had fallen into and rise from its ashes. “Today we gather here to welcome two new warriors. They have trained hard and long to understand the ways and the code of the Clan, and we welcome them warmly. Eaglepaw, please step forward.” Lakepaw held her breath as her best friend stepped up. His head was high, his amber eyes gleaming. He all but took her breath away. She longed to be right beside him at that moment, sharing in his joy, but they would share it later that night, pressed together for warmth, guarding the camp in silence. Lakepaw watched as Froststar once again opened her mouth. “Eaglepaw, do you promise to protect your Clan and the Warrior Code even at the cost of your life?” “I do.” ”Then from this moment on you shall be known as Eagletalon. WaterClan honors your courage and welcomes you as a warrior of this Clan.” Raising her voice so that is soured above everyone elses’, drowning them out. Lakepaw called out Eagletalon’s name as loud as she could. She watched as he turned and nodded to the Clan before backing into his spot in the assembled cats. Now Lakepaw’s heart raced and she stared at her leader. She stepped forward, hoping desperately that her name would be a good one, like Eagletalon’s. “Lakepaw, do you promise to protect your Clan and the Warrior Code even at the cost of your life.” Lakepaw took a deep breath and stared at Eagletalon. Gladly my life, but not his, she thought. “I do.” “Then from this moment on you shall be known as Lakeripple. WaterClan honors your intelligence and welcomes you as a warrior of this Clan.” Feeling her happiness soar as the Clan chanted her new name, Lakeripple raised her head high and ran to Eagletalon. The silence hadn’t started yet… “I love you,” she murmured. “Now and forever.”-To be Continued-

-continued- The night was cold, and it was raining, but to Lakeripple it didn't matter. Eagletalon's warm body was pressed against hers as they guarded the entrance to the camp. Two pairs of eyes scanned the horizon. Warriors at last. Lakeripple kept her mouth shut, as did Eagletalon. They had to keep the vow of silence, no matter how annoying it was. It was only one night. Every once in a while their eyes met, then they would quickly look away. Lakeripple felt a blush under her pelt. The moon made his pelt so handsome. Even more handsome than usual. She had thought that was impossible. Apparently not. Finally, the sun rose, touching the horizon and bring warmth to the frozen night. Lakeripple sighed in happiness, wriggling the stiffness out of her muscles. She wasn't cold, just... wet. But it didn't matter. She felt Eagletalon move beside her, his strong muscles relaxing into a more comfortable pose. She purred. He purred back. Walking back into the camp, other cats mewed greetings to the two. Happiness swelled in Lakeripple's heart. They were warriors, together. It was a wonderful feeling.
Everything passed in a blur. Everything was perfect. Then the pretty young queen Brooksplash came up to Lakeripple. "Hey Lakeripple," Brooksplash mewed softly, putting down her young kit Pondkit. "See you and Eagletalon are off to a great start." Nodding, Lakeripple grinned. "Yeah, he's a great tom." Brooksplash put her face up to Lakeripple's. "You back off," she hissed. "He's mine." "O-okay," Lakeripple stuttered, surprised. Brooksplash had recently lost her mate, she shouldn't be looking for a new one so soon. As the gray queen and her blue-gray kit padded away, Pondkit glancing back with curious eyes, Lakeripple sat back on her paws. "Eagletalon," she mewed softly, glancing around the camp. "Come here." The tabby tom came up. "Yeah?" Lakeripple's lip quivered. "You're not interested in Brooksplash, right? I mean, you don't look at her as a potential mate?" Eagletalon gave her a funny look. "Why would you even think that I would be interested in Brooksplash? Calm down Lakeripple, you're the only she-cat for me.” Purring, Lakeripple rubbed her head against Eagletalon’s chest. “I guess I just wasn’t thinking strait,” she murmured softly. Everything was right again.
Lakeripple held her breath in one of the caves behind the waterfall. She was waiting for Eagletalon, the only cat who had ever opened up to her, and who she hoped one day would become her mate. She gazed at the entrance, waiting for a glimpse of the familiar pelt, the pelt she had grown to cherish and love. Eagletalon slipped into the damp caves, and saw Lakeripple staring at him. "Hi," he meowed. Lakeripple felt a purr rising in her chest. This was the tom she loved. She bounded toward him and breathed in his soothing scent. "I hoped you would come," she murmured. She wrapped her tail around his body. "Eagletalon," she mewed. "Do you love me?" Eagletalon licked Lakeripple’s check and replied. "Yes, I do love you." Lakeripple stared into his bright eyes. "And I love you," she mewed. "I will love you till I leave this world for StarClan, and even then I will still love you. You are the only cat who cares about me, who listens to me, who has ever been my friend. But we are beyond friendship now, aren't we?" "Yes, now we are father than ever before," Eagletalon pressed his flank against hers. "Eagletalon," Lakeripple mewed blissfully, "You are the only cat that I want to spend my life with." "Same with me," Eagletalon purred, "You mean more to me then life itself." "But you have a life!" Lakeripple mewed solemnly. "Cats like you! I have never fit in, and never will. Why me? Why did you choose the cat that even the kits call foxdung because of her half-Clan heritage! Even kittypet Brooksplash is better off then me." "You are not a piece of foxdung, and never have been," Eagletalon licked her check encouragingly. "You are the most beautiful cat I have ever seen." Lakeripple purred, knowing that Eagletalon would speak no lies, not to her. Eagletalon pulled away from Lakeripple. "I have to get some new moss for the cave bed," he meowed and bolted out. Lakeripple stared at where he vanished when a new scent came to her. "Well, well, well," Brooksplash meowed. "So you don't have a life? That's news to me. You got Eagletalon to love you, that's more of a life then I'll ever have." Her words were polite, but her voice was bitter. "My Pondpaw deserves a new father, but I couldn't get Eagletalon. Now I have to search again. Goodbye Lakeripple, and take good care of that tom." Eagletalon heard the conversation, and as soon as he had enough moss, he ran back to the caves. "Lakeripple," Eagletalon meowed dropping the moss, "I'm sorry that had to happen to you." "She always was the jealous type," Lakeripple meowed. "And she really thinks that Pondpaw deserves better then just a mother. I think so too, Pondpaw is a sweet cat." "But I'm not the one she looking for," Eagletalon looked directly into Lakeripple's eyes, "I want my own kits." "So do I," Lakeripple said softly. "What name would you name a kit if you had one?" Eagletalon asked seriously. Lakeripple thought for a moment. "I'd name a she-cat Ripplekit and a tom Cedarkit," she mewed after a while. "I would name a she-cat Waterkit, and a tom Birchkit," Eagletalon purred. "Both beautiful," Lakeripple whispered. "Maybe we can use them all," Eagletalon purred. Lakeripple hesitated. "Maybe sooner then you think." "See you later Eagletalon," Lakeripple mewed. Then the she-cat stood up and left, leaving the confused tom and licking her round belly…-To be Continued-

-Continued- Lakeripple and Eagletalon walked together in the wet marshes. Lakeripple glanced at Eagletalon and sighed gently. "When will we stop?" she asked. "How about here?" Eagletalon chose a beautiful area of soft grass. Lakeripple reached out and touched Eagletalon's nose with her nose, and sighed happily. "This is perfect," she mewed blissfully. "Just like you," Eagletalon purred and licked her check. "Oh, I am nowhere near perfect," Lakeripple mewed, blushing. "I do try my best, but still...." Lakeripple closed her eyes and sighed. She wasn't perfect enough for one as wonderful as Eagletalon. "Don't change. You're perfect in my eyes," he purred. "And you in mine. No one is completely perfect, me with my half-Clan heritage, you with not being actually born in WaterClan, even Brooksplash with her half-kittypet, half-FireClan heritage. But still, we all have something good about ourselves in there somewhere..." Lakeripple didn't know why her personality was so sweet when she was around Eagletalon, the taunts from the other cats had always made her fierce yet incredibly loyal. But something had changed inside her, the moment he had walked up to her and said that she was pretty... "At least there is some good," Eagletalon pressed himself against her flank. "You are the good in me," Lakeripple mewed, touching his nose with hers. "I was sure it was the other way around," Eagletalon licked her cheek. "Lets not argue," Lakeripple mewed. "We are the good for each other." "Arguing is okay in some senses," Eagletalon laughed. "In what senses?" Lakeripple mewed, though she knew perfectly well which ones he spoke of. "Like if I were argueing with some other cat about how beautiful you are. I would say that you were the most beautiful cat ever, even if they didn't agree," Eagletalon meowed matter-of-factly. "And I would claim that you were the most handsome," Lakeripple purred, pushing her head close to his. He was so strong, so perfect. It was amazing he had chosen her, out of all the WaterClan she-cats. She sighed in happiness as Eagletalon pressed his nose into her flank. "I wish we could have kits," Eagletalon meowed cautiously. "So do I," Lakeripple mewed. "Soon, soon." She ducked her head, not yet ready to tell him... it may be sooner than he thought.
Lakeripple quickly dashed a fish out of the water. Letting out a sigh, she took its life and added it to a large pile of fish. Where was Eagletalon? He was supposed to be hunting with her. Eagletalon was stalking. He was stalking the most beautiful she-cat he had ever seen, Lakeripple, his mate. He pounced. "Yikes!" Lakeripple meowed. "Oh, hello Eagletalon," she nodded. "There you are." "I'm here," Eagletalon purred. "You really didn't have to pounce," Lakeripple hissed playfully, butting Eagletalon's flank with her head. "I would never say no to you..." "But it was alot of fun scaring you," Eagletalon tickled her nose with his tail. "Fun indeed," she growled and playfully jumped on him in mock-battle, claws sheathed. Eagletalon batted her ear gently. "Let's fish," he purred. "Ok," Lakeripple laughed. "They won't stand a chance against two completely silent cats like us!" "Silent," Eagletalon purred amuseingly, "we're as silent as a two-leg monster." "As quiet as the thunder," Lakeripple chanted. "As an angry dog, as a cranky elder. As silent as an earthquake and a battle. No fish will ever hear us!" She giggled as Eagletalon rolled on the ground and laughed heartily with his paws to the sky. Playfully, Lakeripple tackeled the lounging tom, stunning him just a bit. "We are so quiet now!" she growled gently. "Ugh I wasn't ready for that," Eagletalon meowed as he pushed Lakeripple toward the sky. As she fell back down Eagletalon caught her on his back. "Are you ready for this?" Lakeripple pushed her nose into his and breathed in his sweet scent. Her blue-gray fur mixed with his brown. Out of her chest came a rumbling purr. "I've been waiting for that," Eagletalon purred back. Catching the moment, Lakeripple raised her blue-green eyes to his face. "Eagletalon, what would you say if I told you right now that I was pregnant?" Laughing, Eagletalon rolled onto his side and looked at Lakeripple. "I'd be thrilled." Lakeripple purred louder. "Good, because I'm having kits."
Lakeripple stared up at the stars from her vantage point on the banks of the Lake of Waters. She wished for warm fur pressing on her sides, but all there was was open air and the sky to stare at. Eagletalon walked up to her. He pressed his warm flank against hers. "Eagletalon," Lakeripple mewed, closing her eyes. "So I am not alone..." "You'll never be alone," Eagletalon meowed softly. "But I have been alone," Lakeripple murmured. "My life is full of loneliness. Or at least it was... until you came into it." "I'll stand by you forever," her mate purred softly. "Stand by me..." she whispered. "Someone who cares. That is hard to come by..." "I know, I'll always be here," Eagletalon licked her cheek. Lakeripple sighed contentedly and felt herself fade into quietness as she melted into oblivion. Together the two sat in silence for hours. Lakeripple curled up in a little ball by Eagletalon, and fell asleep. The sun woke her up. They'd slept outside all night. Yet Lakeripple didn't care. She wasn't ready to go back to a Clan where barely any cat trusted her. She thought that maybe they'd be better off without her. "We should hunt," Eagletalon meowed through a grumbling stomach. "All right," Lakeripple yawned and stretched. "What do you think the clan will say to us?" Eagletalon asked. "We didn't come back last night..." "They'll say that they need us to be in camp so that we'll stay in line," Lakeripple grumbled. "Nosy, bossy little kitties, they'll call us when we ask why. Half-Clan, they'll call me, Different-Clan they'll call you. Yet then I'll call Brooksplash kittypet and everything will be better." "You really seem to have a problem with Brooksplash," Eagletalon meowed. "Of course I do, she hates me, making me hate her back," Lakeripple hissed. "Do you know why she hates you?" Eagletalon asked innocently. "Because I took you away from her," Lakeripple mewed simply. She bristled, Brooksplash was not her favorite topic. "Oh, well that's enough on that subject," Eagletalon meowed sensing Lakeripple's anger. "Good," Lakeripple hissed. "You don't have to hiss at me" Eagletalon purred. "I'm not hissing at you, I'm hissing at Brooksplash!" Lakeripple mewed indignantly. "Oh," Eagletalon meowed. "Duh," Lakeripple purred teasingly. "Hey!" Eagletalon meowed, "I'm not stupid!" "Mousebrained, or thickskulled!" Lakeripple added. Eagletalon looked slightly hurt. "Neither," he protested. Lakeripple sighed. "I wasn't calling you either. I was just adding on." "Oh," Eagletalon whispered. "Mymistake." "Of course," Lakeripple meowed calmly. Eagletalon's eyes widened innocently. "So it always my mistake," he meowed. Lakeripple stretched. "Not nessisarily. But I do remember you telling me that I never make a mistake." Racking his brains, Eagletalon drew up a blank. "When did I say that?" he asked. Being as vague as possible, Lakeripple grinned. "Oh, a while ago." "When's this 'while ago'?" Eagletalon purred playfully. Grinning broader, Lakeripple's eyes widened as if she was hurt that Eagletalon didn't believe her. "Couple moons ago, when you first spoke to me." "I really said that?" Eagletalon asked. "Yes, Mr. Clueless," Lakeripple yawned. "Honestly." But her mew was playful and gently teasing. "Let's go back to camp you need rest," Eagletalon meowed thinking of the kits. "Oh, all right," Lakeripple purred, standing up. The two walked back to camp, tails entwined, side by side.-To be Continued-

OOC: This one I did ALL BY MY LITTLE SELF!!! So, if your character says something... odd, THAT'S MY FAULT!!! So, yeah, sorry and all. -continued- Lakeripple rested her tired head on her paws. Blue-green eyes stared out into the distance, gazing at something different, something strange and foreign. Sloping hills and craggy peaks melted into a sandy shore and a concealed clump of caves by foaming waves. She heard kit laughter, then loud booms and shrieks, then things went dark. Blinking, she glanced around. The unfamiliar landscape wasn't there anymore, just the nursery. Eagletalon lay at her side. He was snoring slightly, and twitched in his sleep a bit. She ran her tail down his tabby back. She hoped her kits looked just like him, with no influence from her ugly sheen. A jolt inside her stopped her midstroke. Her eyes popped. Another jolt, this time harder. Then a convulsion rippled down her body. It hurt, alot. She screamed. "Eagletalon!" she yowled, feeling pain wave after pain wave run down her. "Eagletalon, help me!" Her mate awoke with a jolt. He stood there, frozen for a minute, then he dashed out of the den. Lakeripple screamed again, the sound tearing from her body. Eagletalon returned with Nightmoon, who brought herbs with her. The medicine cat appeared calm, and she stepped up to Lakeripple. Lakeripple felt gentle rubbing begin above her stomach, and fresh moss laid out next to her. She screamed again, and Eagletalon flinched. Her body shook hard, and the pain rippled down her again. Then something passed. Mewling filled the air. Nightmoon purred. "A tom," she said softly. Lakeripple felt another scream build up in her. It tore out louder than the rest, and something past again. This kit's mewls were quieter, but lasted longer than the first's. "Another tom," the medicine cat announced. By now Lakeripple was worn out, but the pain stayed. Her breath grew more ragged, but she didn't have enough energy to scream. She felt the pain lash through one last time, and a third kit pass. This one's mewls were the softest, the gentlest. Lakeripple didn't even need Nightmoon to say, "And a she-cat," she just knew. The pain subsided slowly, and Lakeripple heard Eagletalon's soft purrs. She felt three warm bundles press next to her in the fresh moss, and an odd sensation built up on her belly. She relized they were suckling, and she glanced down. Her heart melted. The oldest, she could tell by his mew now and then, had short, light gray fur, that faded into white as it got closer to his underbelly. The next oldest, the second tom, had long, soft-looking, white fur, with large gray blotches over his back, head, and tail. Then the little she-cat, the smallest, had gorgeous, short, carmel-colored fur with dark brown swirls over it. Lakeripple touched her gently with her nose. Her little tabby. "Cedarkit," she touched the eldest tom lightly with her tail. "Birchkit," the little tom, her second. Then her tail stopped on the she-cat. The names they had chosen didn't seem to fit... "Cherrykit," she whispered. Her heart swelled to three times its normal size. These were her kits, hers and Eagletalon's. She would love them... forever.-To be Continued-

-Continued- Lakeripple stared on, her eyes wide and terrified as Waterpetal convulsed. Her kits were asleep, and she tucked her plumy tail carefully over them. Five moons they might be, but ready for this... no. Nightmoon deposited the two she-kits next to Lakeripple, who began to lick them furiously. She must keep them alive. She blocked out Waterpetal's desperate screams, closing her ears from them. She had a job. The first kit, Hollykit, was breathing, and Lakeripple tucked the little newborn by her own kits to suckle. She began work on Dreamkit. This one reacted quicker, and Lakeripple pushed her next to her sister. Tentatively opening her ears, Lakeripple winced. Nothing like this had ever happened with her birth. Then silence. Lakeripple heard Nightmoon take a sharp breath, and start nosing Waterpetal all over. The blue-gray queen just sat there, stunned, feeling two new mouths suckle. NO! WATERPETAL! She glanced down at the kits, and felt a surge of pity. Her milk would dry up soon, what would they do then? Brooksplash padded quietly over. Her kit, Tigerkit, had died of greencough three days before. Tigerkit had only been a moon old, and Brooksplash had plenty of milk. She sat down next to Lakeripple and eased the two hungry she-cats to her own belly. Lakeripple flashed her a realived look. Brooksplash just nodded.
The Clan mourned. Life moved on as usual. Froststar got sick, as did the deputy, Oceanpeak. Lakeripple, though nursing, was sent to take the leader's place at the gathering.
Nerves clawed at Lakeripple. She had never been so far from her kits before, and probably would have snapped if not for Eagletalon's reassuring pelt pressed against her. The gathering began and Lakeripple leaped onto the branch. Her turn came quickly. "Froststar is sick, but not fatally, as is Oceanpeak," she announced. "Other than that, WaterClan is doing well and has nothing to report." Lakeripple sat back down and scanned the crowd for her mate. Before she could make eye contact she felt someone still staring at her. Glancing down, there was an unfamiliar tom, nearly all black, with a white dot on his chest. His eyes were a pure, sapphire blue. Lakeripple blinked. He didn't look away. The gathering ended, and, just as Lakeripple was about to jump off the branch, she saw water all around her and felt teeth on her scruff. Reacting to the strange occurance, she shook to dislodge the teeth. But there was no one there. Fear overwhelmed her. Getting off the branch, Lakeripple ran behind the tree to her mate. He wasn't there, but the black tom was. "Raincatcher," he mewed softly. Lakeripple swallowed softly. "My name is Lakeripple. I don't know you, but you aren't from the Clans. I'll chase you off if I have to!" "Raincatcher," he repeated stubbornly. Another odd vision hit Lakeripple. A blue-gray kit tumbled over a black one. "Hey!" the black one yowled, but the blue-gray one just giggled. "Come on Skywalker!" she begged. "Raincatcher, go away!" he growled. Lakeripple faltered in her heated response. "Skywalker?" she asked, unsure what this meant. A purr rumbled from the tom. "Yes Raincatcher, it's me." Lakeripple shook her head. "But who are you?" Skywalker looked confused. "I'm Skywalker! Your brother..." Lakeripple backed away. "No. No. My brother was Thistlekit, and he died moons ago. I don't know who you are. Go away!" Scared and frightened, Lakeripple sprinted all the way back to camp.-To be Continued-

-continued- Lakeripple dipped her paw into the puddle, her dark eyes muddled with confusion. Birchkit and Cedarkit were chasing each other around Eagletalon, and Cherrykit was gazing into the puddle with wide, knowledgeable eyes. Dipping her head down, Lakeripple gazed deeper into the water, letting her nose touch it. All she could see was a black face, his sapphire eyes staring intently back, and his soft mew saying 'Raincatcher'.
The Clan was in a state of deep mourning. Oceanpeak had died, and Froststar had until moonhigh to choose the new deputy. A deep, nagging hope pulled at Lakeripple. She hoped it would be Eagletalon.
By now Lakeripple had accepted the fact that Skywalker was her brother. Her memories could not lie to her like that. She had, guiltily, taken her kits out to meat him, and met his mate, a rogue known as Sunset. Well, not mate yet, but Lakeripple could see where they were headed.
The day drew on, and finally Froststar came from her den. It was time.-To be Continued- Just a short one, tying together loose ends.

-Continued- Lakeripple watched as Froststar did not go strait for the rock, but for her. "About your kits..." the leader mewed. Lakeripple quickly felt herself heat up. Her kits? "Cherrykit, Cedarkit and Birchkit." she mewed. "Six and a half moons. Cherrykit wants to be medicine cat apprentice." She felt pride well up in her stomach. "Medicine Cat Apprentice eh? We'll have to talk to Nightmoon. She'd be a great Medicine Cat. I would like to make them apprentices tonight, but after that I'd have to pick a deputy. I wanted to ask you about that. Would you be my deputy?" Froststar asked quietly. Lakeripple gasped, but didn't answer as her mate was coming up. Eagletalon walked to where Lakeripple and Froststar were standing. "Nightmoon has gone missing," he meowed solemnly. "She's probly just out getting herbs, give her a little time." Froststar meowed. Lakeripple was quite aware that the leader's gaze never left her. "Me? Deputy?" she mewed. "Of course I accept..." Then she paused. "But why me?" "At times like these I need a loyal deputy," Froststar replied. Lakeripple's mind whirled. There were plenty of other cats just as loyal as she was... but she didn't say so aloud. "Congratulations," Eagletalon purred. Lakeripple could feel him rubbing against her, but couldn't think about it. She was in shock. She purred and shouted her way through her kits' ceremonies, Birchpaw to Pondshine and Cedarpaw to Smokeshadow. Cherrypaw got her wish as Medicine Cat Apprentice. Then the deputy ceremony came up. Lakeripple felt like vomiting, but she stayed still as Froststar named her as deputy. Feeling starlight light up her blue-gray fur, Lakeripple lifted her head. Her blue-green eyes sparkled at StarClan's acceptance. She was finally fully accepted.-To be Continued-
