A single, lazy cloud drifted across the sky, blocking the harsh light of the summer sun. Ears pinned against the heat, a ginger and white tomcat padded slowly through the brush. The scents of SkyClan grew stronger as he neared the border between their two territories. Redwing ignored it; he needn't worry about SkyClan unless he crossed over to their side, which he wasn't going to do. Instead, the FireClan warrior continued toward the mound of rocks ahead; the Sunningstones, checking and renewing old scent markers and waiting for the rest of his patrol as he went.

Well, if that's the way things are going to go, maybe there could be a misunderstanding of sorts about SkyClan trespassing on FireClan territory? I'd have to talk to Kura about it, but I get the feeling that Kurapelt would be a little overexcited about seeing more cats... XD

OOC: LOL! true true. xP but yeah, there's a sketchy idea about having a FOREST BATTLE, meaning 2-3 clans against the rest. it's gonna be exciting, but the idea is still in planning, cause Pikeru hasn't been on much to reply yet. and to get to that point, we need some small arguements/disagreements/threats to get the tension going! =P i think this thread'll be perfect for it!
btw, ill let Emberfrost join in once u guys all join in the RP. ^^

Wildheart sniffed the air waving her tail around. She was alert and ready for any hostility or tresspassing between the clans.
Silentpaw watched Wildheart and did the same. He tried to show his mentor that he was worthy to be a warrior.

Moonpelt followed in behind Echostep. She looked behind Kurapelt to see if she was following behind. She knew that there were just so much to see in one territory and it was impossible to just view it all in one day. "We're close to the Fireclan territory now." she whispered to Kurapelt. "Their sent is way different from ours. This would be a good chance to distinguish the Fireclan's scent."

Alarmed, Silentpaw sniffed out the scent of SkyClan cats and call out, "A SkyClan patrol is coming!"

IC: Redwing's ears snapped to attention at Silentpaw's call, his nose twitching. Yep, he thought, frowning when the strong scent wafted to his muzzle, that's SkyClan alright.
"Good nose, Silentpaw." The ginger and white tom nodded to the apprentice before turning his gaze in the direction the scent was coming from. The fur around the nape of his neck began to bristle, but he forced his stance to remain loose, nonthreatening. They hadn't trespassed yet, and letting his temper get the best of him wouldn't do FireClan any good.
Echostep stiffened suddenly, swinging her brown and blond muzzle about. Her speckled nose twitched once, and her eyes narrowed as she heard a young voice call out.
"There's a FireClan patrol close by." The she-cat hissed, flicking her tail in the direction she'd been watching.

OOC: can Dewfeather join the skyclan patrol?
IC: Silentpaw purred at Redwing's compliment, but stayed alert. Did his mentor hear that? He took a step forward and sniffed again. "I remember one scent from the gathering... Echo...step! yes!"
Wildheart decided to name another one. "and Dewfeather."
Dewfeather padded closer to Echostep swinging her tail around. "You're right. Let's stay alert."

OOC: note ~ this'll be a great time to have a mini patrol battle, to escalate the up coming forest battle! =P the idea is probably gonna be that fire and water vs. sky and earth, so this is GREAT! lightning gets stuck in the middle b/c mossheart still isn't leader yet. xP good idea?
IC: Emberfrost flickered her eyes away from Kurapelt, finally, and spotted the FireClan patrol, just like Echostep said. And, they were uncomfortably close to the border. His fur rose defensively even though the 2 patrols didn't meet head on yet. for some reason, he had a bad feeling about this that sent a chill down his spine, though she sun was shining and the grass felt dry under his paws. his eyes narrowed as he scented the air again, pinpointing the other patrol.

Bristlefur's ears stayed pinned as the skyclan scent invaded her nose, but she smiled down at her apprentice. "Nice call, do you think you can tell me how many there are?" she asked her gaze going back to stare into Skyclan territory.
Kurapelt glanced around, hoping to see the other cats. She could smell them, and yes they did smell different, but she wanted to see them. Moving restlessly she pranced around in place, hoping to contain her excitement, when all she wanted to do was bolt forward and see the other clan cats.
OOC: sorry for my absences, i didn't have Internet. so what do you guys want to happen?

OOC: hopefully a battle, but not sure about much else. =O hmmmm maybe one patrol ACCIDENTLY passes the border? oh oh maybe Kurapelt can, since she doesn't know there the border is! perfect excuse! =D please??
btw, WELCOME BACK WE MISSED U!
IC: Emberfrost couldn't help but chuckle at Kurapelt's enthusiasm. But he was still a bit nervous about being so close to a Fireclan patrol. even though the whole forest has been in peace for moons upon moons, he could sense that they were really close, and possibly in a hostile mood...

OOC: kura, i think i'm going to skip that question cuz i don't really know.
Wildhearts' fur bristled as the SkyClan patrol got closer. She let out a small hiss and took a step forward ready for any hostility.
Dewfeather lashed her tail angrily as she saw a fireclan she cat take another step closer to her clan's border. Did she dare? "They're getting too close, emberfrost, we should say something to them," she hissed.

Emberfrost nodded at Dewfeather's suggestion; he thought so too. since they were both close to the border now anyways, might as well 'greet' them head-on. he took a quick glance at his clanmates, then padded over to the border line of skyclan and fireclan. the two patrols had just about the same number of cats... he could feel hostility around him, and he didnt hide his own either, his fur standing up a little. he hoped that they wouldn't make out Kurapelt's scent; she still didn't have Skyclan scent on her yet.

A growl starting in the back of her throat, Echostep stalked after Emberfrost. She stopped just behind the tom, her ears flattening and her copper eyes narrowed to slits as she glared at the FireClan cats she could see just beyond the border, warning them of what they'd face if they dared cross.
Narrowing his eyes as a tom and a she-cat came into view, as well as a few other cats, Redwing strode closer to the border, clearly stopping on the FireClan side. His fur was beginning to bristle, but you had to give the guy some credit--he hadn't lunged at them when he'd first caught a clear view of the patrol.
"Greetings," the ginger cat said lowly, letting his golden eyes rest on the SkyClan warrior and trying to keep his temper in check. Redwing did not like seeing another group of Clan cats so close to a FireClan border. "Everything's alright, I hope?"
What he really meant: "I hope you mousebrains aren't thinking of trespassing right in front of us."

Seeing that the two patrols were now faced against each other, the atmosphere was turning. She followed in close behind her clanmates with Kurapelt beside her. "Everything is all well in SKyclan." she replied politely. "but I don't think that's any of your concern." She knew that she shouldn't have been saying that, but something about Redwing was making her cross.

"Well excuse us for being kind!" snapped Silentpaw.
Wildheart stepped on her brother's tail to tell him to not say anything insulting and meowed strictly, I believe you are getting to close to our border, please take a step back so there will be no trouble here today."
Dewfeather hissed at the warrior's bold words, "Well I believe that you are getting to close to our border. Take a step back or there will be trouble!" She unsheathed her claws protectingly, and swayed her tail back and forth angrily. "That's a warning!" All her fur bristled on her pelt.

Firemist caught her mouse, when the scent of Skyclan crossed her nose. She headed for the border. There she found Fireclan cats and Skyclan cats snarling with each other. "What's going on here?"

"We're still on our own territory. You've got no right to threaten us!" Redwing had whipped his head around to Dewfeather, his muzzle contorted into an angry snarl, when Firemist appeared.
Growling, his gaze never left the group of SkyClan cats. "We were patrolling the border when that lot appeared."
"'That lot?!'" Echostep hissed, her brown and blond tail lashing angrily. That cheeky FireClan tom was starting to rub her the wrong way.

Firemist looked angerily. As much as she wanted to claw the Skyclan warriors, Fireclan would be clawed back. They didn't need to fight. "Surely there is a way for everyone to walk away from this no different then they came," she suggested stepping between Redwing and Echostep.
