Wildheart watched in amazement. She caught a bird! On her second try! she couldn't believe it. She is a fast learner, thought Wildheart to herself, maybe I should give her more of a difficul lesson to test her. "Good job!"
Backing up, she stalked Starpaw like she stalked prey, and jumped on the apprentice, pinning her down. "Rule number two: Always be alert!" she meowed in her face, "Any moment some thing could attack you. Soon you will be one with the forest and always know when someone is coming."

Starpaw squeaked in surprise as her mentor jumped on her. She hadn't been expecting that, and dropped the bird she had just caught. She listened as Wildheart told her to always be alert and nodded. It made sense, if not just because Wildheart would jump on her. She hid a grin. Now... she thought. To get Wildheart off and surprise her back! Starpaw, still under Wildheart, gathered her hind paws under her and pushed up with all her strength. She wasn't very strong, but maybe she would have the element of surprise..

Wildheart yowled with laughter, as she gently butted her head into the apprentice's side. Who knew that being a mentor would be so fun?

Starpaw narrowed her eyes teasingly and leapt at her mentor, only to tuck herself into a ball and roll under her mentor. She emerged behind Wildheart and leapt on her back, hanging on tight. "I win! haha!" Starpaw giggled.

Starfire squirmed under Wildheart's weight. "No fair," She complained, "You're bigger than me!" She wriggled some more and then slumped in defeat. She hoped maybe if Wildheart got off her guard, she could leap out from under her and surprise her. She grinned to herself.

OOC: HAHA did you just say starfire? do you want that to be her warrior name?
IC: "Size should never be a disavantage when battling a opponent! Agility is. So is brains. I'm here to train you to understand that," she commented on her apprentices words. "It's time for you to learn play-dead. When a cat seems like he has won, and it seems like you should just give up, use this technique. If he is on top of you, go limp, and as he loosens his grip, you have the advantage of surprise to throw him off. Do you want to try it?"

(ooooops!! Starfire is actually my cat on another site! Whoops!! lol but yes, her warrior name will probably be Starfire, I hope! =P haha! =D)
Starpaw narrowed her eyes mischeviously. "Like this?" She counted on Wildheart relaxing her grip when she was talking to her and pushed up as hard as she could with her hindpaws...

Wildheart went flying back at tail length but quickly regained her posture. "You are a quick learner," she panted, "Let's see if you can handle a surprise attack!" She ran and slid under the apprentice letting Starpaw's weight land on top of her. she shot out her paw, so fast it was almost invisisble, and pushed it against her cheek, pushing her away. Her paw cupped around her neck, as she twisted her body and spun Starpaw to the right, finally landing ontop of her, Wildheart's paw still pressing against her throat. She laughed, "I will teach you that one next!"

"Ohhhh." Starpaw meowed, understanding Wildheart's explanation. "Okay. So how do I do that move?" She asked attentively. "You run under them, right? And then," She acted out the move in slow motion, "you push with your paw..." She stopped, replaying Wildheart's movements through her mind...

"Exactly! Then you push me away, but not so hard because then I would have the advantage of escaping and attacking again when you are still in the posistion of the last move. I always want you to keep so weight on me and then twist yourself into position that you can get on top of me. Then you can scratch or bite your opponent to send him running off. Just not me, save it for a real fight. There! Your doing it! Let's practice that a few times and then let me show you how to escape it."

Starpaw nodded. She did the move once, in slow motion with an invisible opponent to make sure she had the basics down and then tried it on Wildheart. She ran under Wildheart and pushed her with her paw, only hard enough to unbalance Wildheart in order to execute the last move....

Wildheart pushed harder on Starpaw the other direction and still ended on top of her. "That's why you have to get stronger and more agile. Do you want to try it again? Of course when your in a battle the other cat won't expect it but i am."

Starpaw nodded. "But how can you make your self stronger and quicker? just by practicing these moves?" she asked. She wasn't happy with her speed or her strength. She launched into the move again, hoping Wildheart would be caught of guard, but still answer her questions anyway.

"That, and make sure your always in shape!" meowed Wildheart, quickly dodging the apprentice's attack. "Don't worry, it will all progress in time. Remember, you are still a new apprentice! Let's continue tommarrow, i am getting tired. Don't forget to practice!"
As she and the younger cat parted their seperate ways, she was silently hoping that her apprentice wouldn't lose faith. Relieved to get out of the practice she bounded toward the Great Oak, rushing to see Shadowprint, even though it was forbidden.
Day 3 of Starpaw's training
"Starpaw!" she greeted her apprentice cheerfully. As her way of saying hello, she jumped on her apprentice, hoping that she would use the move that she taught her yesterday.

Starpaw ducked under Wildheart, a little surprised at first, but then her instincts kicked in. She had practiced all day yesterday, so the move was imprinted in her muscles and mind. Without thinking too much, Starpaw flicked her paw out and pushed Wildheart's cheek and bringing her paw around to complete the move. She grinned, sitting on Wildheart. "Gotcha!" For some reason, Starpaw noticed as she hopped gleefully off her mentor, Wildheart had a strange smell on her. It definitely wasn't FireClan. She looked curiously at Wildheart...
