OOC: This is was made strictly for Wildheart and Starpaw. But if it;s important please join! IC: "Starpaw," tested Wildheart, "We will start by hunting. YOu know the scent of prey, let's see if you can smell out some." Wildheart's heart leaped with joy as her apprentice answered correctly. She must be doing something right!  |

"Hmm.. I smell.. mouse!" Starpaw meowed gleefully, managing to keep her voice down. "So do I stalk it like this?" Belly low to the ground she padded towards the mouse. Her eyes narrowed and she bunched her muscles and sprang..
(did she do it right? you say if she caught it or not! )

"Amazing!" said Wildheart as Starpaw killed the mouse. Wildheart was stunned. She was still a young apprentice and she had shocking skills. "Let me show you how to catch a squirrel." She flicked her tail over to a grey squirrel sitting on a branch. It was very far up and she really wanted to impress her apprentice. 'Oh StarClan! Please let me catch this one!'
Silently, she dug her claws into the trees bark and used her front leg muscles to push herself up. The she "Ran" up the tree and onto the branch. As quiet as she has ever been in her life she stalked her prey, moving one paw after the other. She sprang and killed the squirrel with a swift bite. "Yes!" she said out loud. "Here catch!" she called to Starpaw and dropped the squirrel to the ground. She quickly climbed down from the tree.

Starpaw caught the squirrel as Wildheart dropped it to her. Her eyes shone with amazement and awe. "Wow...Can you teach me how to do that?" She asked, glad she had such a talented mentor. "That was so awesome!!"

Starpaw lifted her nose into the air, sniffing quietly. Suddenly she froze. "There." She whispered, pointing with her tail... A squirrel sat on a low tree branch not far from where the two cats stood..

"Good," said Wildheart quietly, eyeing the squirrel. "As quietly as you can I want you to dig your claws into the tree and push up with all your strength. Get up to the branch and stalk your prey carefully, just as i showed you before, but let the squirrel not see you. Go ahead."
She whisked her tail nervously. What if she fell down? "I'll show you how to get down as soon as you get up there!"

Starpaw nodded to show she had heard. As quietly as she could she leapt onto the tree, sinking her needle sharp claws into the soft bark. She clambered up the tree swiftly and padded carefully onto the branch, stalking her prey. She crouched, muscles bunching together, reading to push off. She waited, ears pricked for Wildheart's next instructions..

"Kill it," said Wildheart, nervous, "But be careful, pounce lightly so the prey doesn't hear you plus we don't want you falling off. We don't want to you to be killed do we?" She flicked her tail signiling for Starpaw to make her move.

Starpaw nodded, concentrating. She sprang lightly, claws extended and landed on the squirrel. Starpaw quickly killed it with a bite to the neck. With the squirrel dangling between her jaws, Starpaw pranced happily back to her mentor. "That was so cool!" She purred, blue eyes lighting up. "Where'd you learn that?" She buried the squirrel along with the mouse she had caught earlier...

Wildheart closed her eyes, taking herself back to the past. "My mentor taught it to me, and I shall teach you what I learned. Do you want to learn to defend yourself. I can teach you a few tricks before today's lesson is done..."

OOC: HEY YOUR BACK! that's ok. I'm gonna take all the fighting moves from the secrets of the clans warriors feild guide thing.
IC: Wildheart smiled, taking her back to the memories of her as an apprentice. "Sheathe your claws, Starpaw, this is just practice. I want you to take your front paw down hard on my head. This is called the front paw blow. You have to do it as fast as you can because your oppenent can dodge it and take the advantage." She took a step back and stood still waiting to see if her apprentice was ready. "Okay, Starpaw. I'm a mean lightningclan warrior and I just insulted you and said bad things about FireClan. Your going to attack me. You choose to use the front paw blow. Attack me!"

Starpaw imagined herself in a battle with a LightningClan warrior. Doing as her mentor instructed, Starpaw, keeping her claws sheathed, brought her front paw down hard onto Wildheart's head, and leapt back after she had done so..

Wildheart laughed and said, "It's allright! When your training, it's allright to hit your mentors! I remember it was fun because my mentor used to work me hard and frusterated me so much that it was fun to hit him at the end of the day! Besides this isn't real, you didn't mean it. Let's try again." As the apprentice repeated the move, Wildheart ducked her head and jumped on the apprentice, pinning her down on the ground. She tried not to be too hard and got up to let Starpaw breathe. "Too slow," she commented, "Again!"

Starpaw giggled. "Did you really enjoy it? hahaha!" She grinned and then turned her focus back to her training.
She pretended that Wildheart really was a LightningClan warrior and raced up to the she cat. She jumped up, out of the way of Wildheart's paws and brought her paw crashing down on Wildheart's unprotected head...

Wildheart dodged and brought the apprentice down once again. "Try thinking of when your hunting and how you lash your paw forward to catch that mouse. Do it that fast! Let's do it. But claws unsheathed this time." She smiled, hoping that her apprentice didn't hurt her that bad!

"What? Unsheathed claws?" Starpaw glanced at her mentor. "Okay..." She hoped she didn't hurt Wildheart. Taking her mentor's advice, Starpaw lashed out as if she were catching a mouse. She tried not to hit too hard, but hard enough to satisfy her mentor...

Wildheart felt dazed when Starpaw hit her but she didn't let it show. She laughed and smiled, "Very nice! I knew your hunting skills will come in handy!" She let out a delighted purr and meowed, "You just earned yourself a day without picking ticks off the elders pelt! I see a mouse over there, do you want to catch it?"

Starpaw nodded gleefully and lowered herself into the hunter's crouch. Remebering that a mouse could feel her paws before smell her, she carefully put down each paw, putting the weight in her haunches and stepping lightly. She crouched and sprang- coming up with a mouse dangling between her jaws. Starpaw proudly carried the catch over to her mentor. "I've learned so much already!" Starpaw meowed happily. "I love being an apprentice!" She purred..
