Just as Pondpaw was about to resond, Acornpaw averted her eyes to the newcomer and her heart stopped beating as she saw Smokepaw-no, the new warrior of Waterclan approaching to them. She stared at him for a couple of heart beats, noticing at how closely he had settled down next to Pondpaw. Quickly looking away, she stammared, "No.....not yet." She wanted to say some more but something stopped her. It wouldn't matter to him anyhow. She tried to avoid her gaze from Smokepaw as she found that it was difficult to prevent this. Keeping herself busy, she went back to the conversation with Pondpaw, "So....your name is....?"

Smokeshadow frowned when he turned his dark blue gaze to Acornpaw, and noticed that she purposely averted her eyes away from him. Even though he wasn't close to Acornpaw, at least he considered her as... more of a friend than any of the other cats he knew, (except Pondshine of course) because of that mysterious prophecy, and what they went through that night. "Her warrior name is Pondshine, and mine is Smokeshadow," he answered her calmly. "Is... something wrong?" he asked, afraid that maybe Acornpaw was feeling the power he was trying to force down, like Pondshine had.
Burningstar glanced up at the moon; it was overhead. Perfect time to start the gathering. Seeing as none of the other leaders were going to speak first, the dark ginger leader stood up on his branch. "This gathering has begun." he started, his voice loud enough to be heard despite the gossiping. He waited for the cats to settle down before beginning.
"FireClan is doing very well. There are two new apprentices, Starpaw and Sunpaw." he smiled down at them; it was their first gathering. "And their mentors are Wildheart and Darkheart." He heard a ripple of congradulating meows pass through the clans. "Prey is plentiful and the clan is being fullfed." He added, clearly showing the other clans that they're strong. He sad back down and nodded for the other leaders to start.

OOC: I missed so much! D= lol, have some catching up to do myself now...
IC: Treestar felt slightly taken back by Mossheart's words. "No harm ment, Mossheart..." the Earthclan leader added to the Lightningclan leader, feeling a stab of regret as he called her by her warrior name. Treestar listened to Burningstar's report, feeling a harsh gaze burning into his fur, the tom looked amoung the crowd, expecting for Thawpelt or Forestfur to be watching him intently.
Foxcloud puffed up at the Fireclan news. Though, her amber eyes did wander to Treestar. The Earthclan leader seemed weaker, and slightly destracted. The Fireclan deputy's ears pricked at this.
Pondshine blushed a bit when Smokeshadow introduced her with her new, warrior name. The slim she-cat turned to Acornpaw, hardly noticing how close the Waterclan tom was sitting to her. "Don't feel down! It won't take you as long as us to get your warrior name. I bet once you get back, Treestar will give it to you!" Pondshine felt a bit down, seeing that Acornpaw looked down. Oh, don't be angry at me for asking that! I'm just a butterfly-brain! Pondshine mewed despiretly in her mind, hoping that with Acornpaw having the ability to read minds, that she would hear her.
Thawpelt purred at Snowstep's words. "You should have seen the apprentices. They must have takken a liking to me, for they practicaly dragged me to the gathering!" the oddly colored tom responded, making room for the energetic Skyclan she-cat to sit.

Hearing Treestar softening a bit and regret, she softened her gaze at him, "No harm done nor taken Treestar." she replied curtly and nodded her head for Burningstar to start. She listened to his speech and contemplated on what she would say when it was her turn. "Those are some nice names," Acornpaw replied, smiling at Pondpaw and nodded to her about her reassurance. But her smile quickly lost itself as Smokeshadow blurted out another question, "No....nothings wrong." she replied quickly. She knew that Smokeshadow would not take that as an answer for granted, so averting her eyes back at him, she repeated herself with fake confidence, "Nothing at all." Within a few heartbeats, she felt some signals coming to her. Feeling wobbly at first, she controlled it with her mind. The words were very faint from the voices of Pondpaws'. She knew that she was being shelfish, making Pondshrine having concern for her, but how could she explain this feeling to Pondpaw? Especially when it might.........hurt her? Just in time, Burningstar yowled for the gathering to start and she sighed with relief. That should keep him quiet for a while. Instead of listening to Burningstar's speech, she thought back to the couple of seconds with her gaze at Smokeshadow-hopefully, her confidence that he had seeked from her had some effect. She made mental note to dodge them when the gathering ended. As soon as possible for the least. OOC: Woohoo...getting my long posts back.  |

Sunpaw was taken back by the huge amount of cats that were gathered here and had to stop to take a deep breath twice now, after squeezing through a pair of talking cats she settled into a comfy place, flicking one of her ginger ears irratably. She listened intently to what the leaders had to say and her heart skipped a beat when she and Starpaw were mentioned. She felt eyes watching her, or maybe it was some kind of paranoia, and gave her long white coat a quick lick, she saw a group of other apprentices in the corner of her eye but stayed where she was, not sure wether to approach them or not.

Wildheart took her seat next to shadowprint and looked into his eyes with glee when Burningstar mentioned her and her newly named apprentice. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you," she whispered while wrapping her tail around his in a friendly gesture, "I wanted it to be a surprise."

Redwing couldn't help but sit up a bit straighter when Burningstar called the Gathering to start. His glossy pelt lowered, no longer concerned with Bristlefur. The tom meowed quietly, congratulating the two apprentices again, although he'd already done so at their apprentice ceremonies. Even so, his ears flattened a bit; apprentices brought Bristlefur to mind, and he was tired of thinking about that infuriating she-cat.

Snowstep grinned at what Thawpelt said, and took a deep breath, sitting down. She was trying to get her heart to stop beating so fast from the run she just made. She could feel the blood pumping in her ears loudly. It seemed to take longer than usual to get her heart to quit beating so fast though... maybe there was another reason it was beating so fast. Her tail twitched in annoyance at this.
Smokeshadow watched Acornpaw with confusion for a couple more seconds before turning his attention to the leaders. He barely listened as FireClan made their announcements, and as he waited for the other leaders to start their news, he thought things over. Even though Acornpaw seemed confident enough about her answer, somehow the look she gave him made him think otherwise. There seemed to be... something else that seemed to be bothering her.

Mossheat's thoughts popped back to Burningstar's speech and caught the last few words in his speech. She meowed in congragulations with the rest of the cats like every other gathering. Once Burningstar finished his speech, she looked at the other leaders mentioning to go ahead of her.
In the corner of her eyes, she could see Smokeshadow glimpsing at her now and then. She fidgeted in her sitting position feeling uncomfortable. She wished that he would stop and focus on the leader's instead, or even.......at Pondpaw. It seemed like she was treading in the water further than ever and it seemed it seemed that there was no way out.

Rosefeather sat in Wolfstar's place with discomfort. She listened to the leaders with little interest. She was trying to figure out what to say without giving anything away. (ooc: anyone from skyclan know?) Her tail flickered nervously.
Winterpaw watched as the leaders gave their reports. She finally spotted Smokepaw and Pondpaw, and even Acornpaw. The two WaterClan cats had a sence of authority by the way they sat. Could it be?...
Froststar took her chance to speak. "WaterClan is doing fabulous. We have 2 new warriors, Smokeshadow,"she paused,"and Pondshine." She looked down at them and twitched her whiskers in amusement. She saw a lonely little apprentice from SkyClan lookat them with the weridest expression.
Lilypaw meowed along with the rest of the Gathering. WaterClan had new warriors, eh? She'd just have to work much harder.

Dawnflight forgot about the two SkyClan warriors for a moment, and breathed a sigh of relief. The Medicine Cat didn't know what she would've done if Froststar had mentioned the new addition to their Clan... She wouldn't have known what to do if FireClan (finally decided which Clan she came from ^^') had recognized her.
Echostep looked away distractedly too, watching with a troubled light in her copper eyes as Rosefeather fidgeted on the branch of the Great Oak. What would the SkyClan deputy say in the absence of Wolfstar? The tri-colored warrior glanced at Graysky uneasily, wondering if he were thinking the same.

OOC: Hey, Rosefeather, I asked the same question to ilovewarriors; When do you want Lilypaw to be made a warrior?
Pondshine felt a hot wave rush over her as all the eyes turned to Smokeshadow and herself. The new Waterclan warrior gave a small smile, and purred to try and mask her possible fear scent.
Treestar gave a small nod to Froststar as she finished her report. "Earthclan is doing well, and we too have a new apprentice. Branchpaw is learning all he knows from Rippedtail, my old apprentice." the Earthclan leader found himself adding the last part in as a way of saying; Insult her teaching, you insult me. The tom had no idea why the need to defend his clan came so suddenly. His amber eyes flashed in the moonlight as he questioned his own thoughts.
After turning to look at the new Waterclan warriors, -and being surprised by one of them giving a small smile-, Thawpelt glanced at Branchpaw. The young apprentice was admirably cute. They all were when it came to their first gathering. Letting his dark blue eyes rest on Snowstep, he couldn't help but think that the moonlight made her pelt shine beautifully. The tom shook his head at this. Thoughts like that only mess up friendships!

Branchpaw shuffled uneasily on his feet as his name was mentioned. He was still coming to terms with the vast number of cats that had come here tonight. He felt a purr rise up in his throat and his short tabby fur bristled with excitement. He felt as if he could do anything at that moment.

Mossheart meowed with congragulations to the two new warriors and one new apprentice. There seemed to always be new ceremonies to celebrate about and it was a blessing to every clan of course. She waited patiently for Treestar to finish, wondering what he was thinking about.

OOC: we should hurry up and finish this thread! =O all leaders: do announcements FAST!
IC: Snowstep watched the leaders intently, glad about all the new apprentices and warriors; clan life was going well. Then, somehow she felt like someone was watching her. She turned around to see Thawpelt's eyes resting on her, and she felt her pelt give off a rush of heat. Her green-blue eyes just happened to catch his, even if it was only for a second.
Burningstar nodded as Treestar spoke, but oddly, he noticed how protective of his clan the Earthclan leader seemed to be. That got his fur pricking a little. Usually the calm leader wasn't like this; was something wrong?
Smokeshadow flickered his ears backwards, his focus still not on the leaders. he couldn't wait for this gathering to be over so he could question Acornpaw about what was up. She seemed very odd tonight, and he doubted that it was about them becoming warriors before her.

IC: Noticing that he had been silent for a while, Treestar saw it as the time to continue now that everyone got to glance at Branchpaw. "A few warriors and I have discovered a small cavern in the swamp where bats linger. I wish to warn the other leaders of the possiblitity of it's dark tunnels spreading into their territory. Prey is plentiful, and that is all." Treestar paused after mentioning the dark tunnels, but mewed the last part quickly. He guessed that it was Mossheart's turn to speak.
OOC: I forget what the name of the thread is that we RPed about the tunnels. It was fun though! =D

Cherrypaw would become a wonderful Medicine Cat when the time was right, but in the mean time she'd make sure the young she-cat learned all she'd need to know to take care of her clan.

Taking a step forward, Mossheart began, "All is doing well is LightningClan again. We have plenty of prey and healthy cats, especially kits. There's been nothing really to report about." She quickly took a step back and waited for the last speaker to finish the gathering.
