Sunstorm limped into the camp, his golden pelt missing clumps of fur here and there. One one his red paws bled profusely and he limped badly. No cat was around and he gratefully hobbled off to Lightning Clan's medicine cat den, where Splashpool cared for such victims as he. His blue eyes were troubled as he remembered the recent events. He had volunteered to patrol the border by himself when out of nowhere, he was attacked by another cat. His eyes dimmed as he remembered how well the other cat put up a fight, but it had suddenly fled. He wondered who the other cat could have been.
(should there be a rogue cat who attacked him, maybe, or a clan cat? Just trying to get a little action and make Sunstorm's reason for an injury more realistic)

"Come in!" Splashpool called, smelling Sunstorm and an injury. She was busy worrying, her mentor, Frostpool hadn't been seen, and she didn't know where to start looking. "In please, those wounds smell bad!"

(okedoke! Hiya!!!)
Sunstorm limped in, feeling a little awkward. "Hi Splashpool. They don't hurt too bad though.. You might want to tell Mossheart that there's something dangerous near our borders.." He grunted, keeping his weight off his hurt paw. "Are you okay? You seem a bit worried," he said, changing the subject as he saw Splashpool's worried glances around the den.

"Thanks," Sunstorm meowed gratefully. his wounds hadn't hurt before, but now they were beginning to throb. "Frostpool is missing?" he asked, surprise flitting across his features. "That's unusual. Maybe she's visiting the other medicine cats, like she often does?"
(do the other Clans know about WaterClan's loss of medicine cats? )

Sunstorm flinched as the herbs came in contact with raw flesh.
"Hmmm.... maybe I could try and find her... I've also heard from the gatherings that quite a few other cats, especially medicine cats, have gone missing." He mused aloud. "There could be some connection.." His tail twitched slowly, his mind deep in thought...

Sunstorm got to his paws, wanting to test the one he had injured. "I just think it's strange," He continued, " to see so many cats, especially those in leadership or medicine cat roles, to go missing...I'm sorry," He meowed, realizing he was probably talking the medicine cat's ear off. "Please forgive me. I tend to yak quite a bit... You're doing very well without your mentor, as hard as it must be." He purred. "Good job!"

"Thanks," Splashpool mumbled, not noticing his awkwardness. "Some days I just wonder how I got so lucky. My life didn't start out so well, and I miss my siblings now and again, but my life isn't so bad. At least I'm not Splash the street cat anymore."

Sunstorm murmured sympathetically. " I can't pretend to know what it was like, but I'm sure it was bad being on your own with no cat to talk to... You have siblings? What clans are they in?" The tom asked, watching Splashpool finish doctoring up his paw and wounds.

"Thanks Splashpool. It already feels better!" Sunstorm knew he had dredged up memories that the medicine cat hadn't wanted to remember. He needed to do something that would get her mind off that..
"Hey, feel up to some hunting? I'm sure my paw will be fine if I go easy on it." He purred.

Splashpool thought for a moment. "I'll come with you to keep an eye on that paw, and to gather more herbs. I most likely won't hunt though..." She flicked her plumy silver tail, and padded out of the sheltered den, still worried about Frostpool, her mentor.

(Hmm... should something happen while they are hunting for prey/herbs? Like running into rogues or something?)

ooc: That's what happened to poor Darkpaw, she had to be trained by Spottednose (Earthclan medicine cat). And just as she was about to receive her medicine cat name, Littleflower (old medicine) came back!

(Really? eeep!! maybe they shouldn't go hunting then! Don't wanna lose another medicine cat! Must be the curse of Demonclan- when warriors and medicine cats go hunting, the medicine cats go missing... lol)
