Snowstep glanced back and caught a glimpse of brown and white fur. Oh great she thought to herself. "Moonpelt," she meowed with an edge of annoyance in her voice that she usually never had. "Catch up." she hurried up ahead as the small patrol got closer to the Still Creek.
she usually loved the place, and enjoyed every moment, but today was a different matter. Just the presence of Thawpelt blocked that care free feeling, like a flea in her pelt. She felt like she wanted to prove herself in front of him, so he won't always act so highly; especially in front of her old apprentice who was newly named a warrior.
"Let's hunt" she stopped at the creek, meant as a challenge to Thawpelt.

OOC: Poor Moonpelt is stuck in the middle.....lol
IC: Thawpelt stopped as Snowstep turned around. She growled something about a hunt, but Thawpelt only saw the nasty glare that she gave him. The brown and white tabby tom rolled his eyes, knowing that this was just a way to show off in front of her old apprentice. Can't she just leave me alone? Thawpelt asked himself, as he stalked off into the underbrush, in search of a few pieces of juicy prey he could catch.

Moonpelt nodded. She could tell that her mentor was getting annoyed. She must got to the wrong side of the bed! (lol) For some strange reason, she felt that she didn't want to be in between them. This feeling was a first experience to her and the atmosphere was getting worse. Quietly, she tiptoed out a bit further from them, but close enough to see them in case they were going to cause an outbreak. Moonpelt sighed and concentrated on her hunting. This is going to be one tough day!

Snowstep watched with narrowed eyes as Thawpelt disappeared behind an undergrowth without a reply, then went her own way after flickering her tail for good luck to Moonpelt.
instead of hunting on land like the other two, she decided to fish; she never specified which prey to bring back. the river was perfect at this time; the weather wasn't too cold to freeze the waters, and the fish are swimming in large groups because of leaf-fall.
Snowstep concentrated on the fish, watching as their silver bodies glided past easily in the water. soon she had 3 fish lying on land in a pile, and she smiled with satisfication for she chose the largest ones to catch. just then she wondered how Thawpelt was doing, and if he caught more prey than she did... that flared up a fire in her mind and she tried to work hard on catching more fish. however, with her mind wandered, she underestimated a huge fish and instead of catching it she stretched too far and fell, splashing into the cold river...

IC: Thawpelt had wandered around, trying to choose the best prey. On his hunt, the brown and white tabby tom decided to hunt for squirrels, to show that he could do just as good as Snowstep.
As his silent paw steps helped him creep up on a foolish plump squirrel. It was trying to gather some extra nuts for leaf-bare. But this would be its last day. All Thawpelt had to do, was race ahead, and all the stupid creature did, was watch him for half of its heartbeats left on this world, before trying to run away. It was too slow. Its large bundle of nuts in its cheeks, and its large fat stomach, that scraped the ground, sealed its fate. It hadn't taken long, before Thawpelt had finished off two more. But one was thin and fit. It gave him a good run, before its life was ended too. But that was okay, Thawpelt liked the way hunting made his heart race, and the feeling of joy he got, knowing that he will be able to feed a few more hungry kits in the nursery with his catch.
On his way back to the clearing he had left, the noise of splashing came from the nearby river, only a few fox lengths that way. Thawpelt slowly and silently padded to the sound, and grunted angrily at the sight of Snowstep. She had three large fish in a pile next to her, and was going for another. Maybe I should catch some more....Thawpelt thought to himself, looking at his three squirrels that hung from his jaws. But something went wrong, and the light she-cat fell in. Thawpelt would have laughed, if it had not been close to leaf-bare, and had the water not been bone chilling cold. Without a word, those powerful back legs of him pushed off, and he left his prey behind.
Without thinking, Thawpelt closed his dark blue eyes, and jumped in after her. His mind froze with his limbs, as the cold water rushed over him. He couldn't think, and he also couldn't help but panic a little when he didn't see the slim Skyclan she-cat. His limbs were stiff, but he was able to paddle threw the water, and go up to the surface, and get a gulp of air. The air seemed colder than the water. "Snowstep! Snowstep, were are you?!" Thawpelt called out, whipping his head from either side, in search of the Skyclan she-cat.
OOC: I hope Snowstep doesn't get too snippy when he tries to help her....lol

Moonpelt instantly stopped and turned. She could hear a paniced voice from Thawpelt. As she approached closer to his voice, she could hear that it was from the river. Rushing madly to the edge of the river, she could see Thawpelt padding in the river, searching for Snowstep. She took a glance, to find Snowstep and she could finally see her. "Over there Thawpelt, beside the pile of rocks." She silently prayed to Starclan that Snowstep would be alright.

OOC: hah u'll neva know! first she must be SAVED! note that skyclan doesn't mean waterclan: no swimming lessons! XP and woah! must...give reputation... =3
IC: Snowstep felt her head go under, and the freezing cold hit her with a pang. she thought she would die right that instant, for she felt her heart skip a beat with the sudden lack of air. she wasn't able to take air in when she fell, because it all happened so quickly. she knew she had to get out though, and tried hard to move her paws. it wasn't easy though; it was so cold that it hurt to move any part of her body.
she couldn't think. she couldn't move. all she could do was go limp as she slipped out of conciousness, and was pulled by the current...

OOC: WOW!!!! I just noticed how much I wrote! I guess I got too much into it....*nervus laugh* Oh, and you are right. They are in Skyclan, not Waterclan! OH NO!!! EEP!!! SWIM LITTLE KITTIES!!!
IC: Thawpelt couldn't feel his body. It seemed as if this water was like ice, and it could have just been. His wet fur floated on the surface of the water, as his head bobbed slowly above. "Snowstep!" He called again. Just then, a ball of light fur floated to the surface. It didn't move. No....Starclan....not Snowstep.....Thawpelt thought to himself, as he stiffly tried to paddle after her.
The current was strong, and Thawpelt spent more strength trying to keep from being driven away, than actually getting to her. But some how he got close enough to the motionless Snowstep, to clasp his teeth over her scruff. Now that their weight became one, it was harder to keep above the water. His nose struggled to poke above the water, as he tried to lift hers out too. Something over took him....regret? For what? It must of been from how he always treated her. But that didn't matter. Even if she was.................gone...............he would still take her body to land, so her kin could honor her.
But the water seemed to laugh at him. It spun him around wildly, and made him struggle even to move his paws. It seemed to Thawpelt, that he was just like prey to the current, and his life was in its waves. As they were carried down stream, a large rock in front of them split the waves. The brown and white tabby tom took the blow hard, when he moved himself in the way so Snowstep wouldn't be hurt. In this spot, Thawpelt was able to relax, for the current made sure they were being forced into the rock. "Moonpelt! Get help!" Thawpelt called out blindly threw the light fur in his jaws.

Snowstep's mind was in a world of blackness, where nothing happened, and she was nowhere except in nothingness. she was concious of something though. something happening outside her mind. she felt, though it was like it wasn't her own body, cold wetness, and then someone catching her scruff, pulling her up... she didn't feel like she needed to breathe when she blacked out, but when she was pulled above water she felt the sudden urge to inhale. she tried, though it wasn't easy, and she felt the black mist in her mind slip, and her eyes opened into slits. her head made the images blurred, but she made out the creek, and little bits of land. she felt someone pulling her along and fought the current that threatened to pull her under again.
it was like something had suddenly hit her. her eyes flew open and she found herself half way in water, leaning against the body of a brown colored cat. (he IS brown, right? XP can't remember... *dies*) it was a moment before her memory came back to her as she learned her mind for the tom's name... "...Th--Thawpelt?" she choked a little, her voice small, which was very unlike her. she couldn't quite get her old self back, like part of her never came back to conciousness.
then she struggled like any animal would in this situation out of fear, and she slipped from Thawpelt's side and started being pulled away from safety...
DUNDUNDUN!

OOC: Yup, he is brown. I usually call him a brown and white tabby, because it is kind of hard to describe what he really looks like......just look at his....oh....it is black and white....hmmm.....I will have to fix that..... IC: "...Th--Thawpelt?" Snowstep's voice seemed like a thousand words from a mate. Her words meant she was alive, and that gave warmth to his limbs. It gave him a reason to keep trying to get them both to safety. But then something happened. Snowstep, struggled. Her movements made her wet fur slide out of Thawpelt's jaws. The current that parted around the rock, took its chance, and pulled her away. The light grey she-cat quickly disappeared around the side of the jutting rock, and was gone. Not even a scream came from her throat.
Thawpelt just looked at were she had vanished. His dark blue eyes were wide, as he stood their. Dumbfounded. He has never seen someone be taken by the current before, and it was all because of him. He didn't hold on to her.
The brown and white tabby's limbs moved on their own, and used the slight warmth that Snowstep's voice had given, as they rapidly paddled threw the water, and away from the safety of the stone. He had forgotten how harsh the current was, and he was pulled under unexpectedly for a few heartbeats. The foamy water clouded his sight, but it all cleared quickly, as his head bobbed to the surface. "Snowstep?" He called again, as he flicked water from his whiskers. Some of his fur slopped over his skin. It made his skin feel itchy and uncomfortable. When Thawpelt was sucked under again, he couldn't help but wonder if he was going to join Starclan. And he also wondered things that would be strange for a last thought. He wondered things like, can your skin still feel itchy after you join Starclan? And, I wonder if Snowstep would be happy or sad if I died. But his mind cleared again, as he rushed to the surface, and could see the image of a light gray cat in the distance. "Snowstep!" Thawpelt called again.

Snowstep heard her name being called, loud and clear even through the deafening sound of rushing water. she's never seen the creek so fast and strong before... they were being pulled so far they were headed down into the large river that led to the waterfall.........
She was under water, feeling the cold seep into her fur, even through her claws as she tried to swim with her stiffened limps. Her head was starting to lose conciousness while she still felt Thawpelt's warm fur... no. she would stay strong and get out of this. I've always had confidence, and i won't give that up now. she shook her head to clear it, and splashed as she broke through the water.
Snowstep caught glimpses of green, brown, blue, white... but wasn't able to make out anything in detail. "Snowstep!" She heard her name being called again, strong with an emotion that she couldn't interpret at that moment; a moment of life and death. She moved her paws, staying above water and tried to move towards the green; that must be land.
Then she felt a sudden pull and push. The push was from... "Thawpelt?!" she choked as she felt fur brush against her own. And she found out what was the pull...... the thundering roar proved her right.
They were being pulled by the waterfall.
OOC: hah i like exciting moments! =P don't die from the waterfall!!!

OOC: YAY!!! Karma point for Kat!!! You now have 9....I hate the number 9......Maybe another good post can make it a even 10! ;D
SWIM LITTLE CATS!!!! SWIM!!!!!!!!!
IC: As Thawpelt slowly grew closer to his target, something grabbed him, and whipped him under once more. But this time, he was rushed forward as he began to surface again. Snowstep quickly passed him, and Thawpelt looked back at her helplessly, as the distance between them grew farther. A large roaring sound filled his ears, as his heart crashed against his chest in panic. The adrenalin pumped stronger threw his blood. "Snowstep, try to grab something!" Thawpelt's words seemed distant even to him, as the roaring grew loader. The water now started to burn his eyes, and make them feel sore. His hind leg slammed into something under the water, and made him flip. His head crashed below the foam covered waves for only a heartbeat, before launching back up.
The hair on his spine tried to rise, but they were too wet to move. He still could feel the strange tingle down his spine. Thawpelt knew what was coming. What his back faced right now, would roar and crash over a sudden drop-off, and slam into the water below. How can this happen? I have never thanked my sister for that time she took the blame for me! Thawpelt felt something pull, and then he felt weightless. His heart seemed to stop, and his breath was the only thing he could hear now. But then the peaceful moment ended, and gravity took over. Thawpelt opened his mouth to scream, but water flowed into his parted jaws, and stopped his desperate call. The brown and white tom shut his eyes, and gagged as more water rushed in.
Everything was black. His body was stubborn, and would not move for him. The roaring of the waterfall was faint now, and was replaced with a slight ringing noise. It was joined in by a small rhythmic thumping. The joined noises clouded the Skyclan warrior's mind, and all he could think about was his breathing, and those annoying sounds that continued in his head. Or were they in his head? Thawpelt opened his eyes as much as they would let him, and saw only a red haze. It swallowed up the little opening his eyes were granted, and seemed to pulse with the thumping noise. The noises now made Thawpelt angry. Their constant racket did not allow him to think, nor feel what his body was going threw. Stop it....Thawpelt thought weakly, but his words had a demanding tone. The noises grew stronger now, like they were taunting him. The Skyclan tom closed his eyes again. He felt like sleeping for the next several moons.....
OOC: Don't worry, he will not die. Thawpelt's body in kind of in "shock".

OOC: ah my post didn't deserve such a reputation! *blushes and gives yet another reputation to the might RPer, Pikeru!!!* =P
IC: Snowstep heard Thawpelt call out once again, yet his voice was drowned out by the thundering roar of the waterfall. The she-cat was suddenly alert, knowing that if she didn't do something, fast, they could face death. She's never been here before, so she didn't know how high the fall is, and if there's enough water to break the fall...
She jerked as she slammed into the large, smooth rock poking out of the water, making the river move on either side of it. it caught her by surprise and she slipped by it. she used her chance though, and desperately tried to hold onto that boulder. it was too smooth though... and her claws couldn't dig into stone. she gasped for breath as she held on for as long as she could, claws slipping and being choked by such fast moving water.
Then she saw the brown pelt of her clanmate fall over the edge.
Her heart gave a lurch as dread filled her. She didn't know why; she was never fond of Thawpelt. but... maybe it was because he was her clanmate. or maybe it was because he tried to save her earlier. or maybe it was because it was HER that always called "war" on him, and nothing was his fault... or maybe...
Snowstep's heart skipped a beat as her claws slipped, and she felt her body, small compared to the waterfall, fall as water pushed her down faster than she would have alone. She felt the pressure of the water as heavy as earth and stones, and tried to stay concious as she felt pain pierce her body.
Then cold, quiet nothingness.
She hasn't passed out, but she wasn't brave enough to open her eyes. she was afraid that she'll find herself sitting among the stars, watching her own body... But she felt her body suspend higher; or at least that's what she thought she felt. She couldn't hear anything, giving her mind only an image of silent darkness.

OOC: *Blush* Yes it did! My post didn't deserve it!
(lol, we are to modest!)
IC: The roaring of the waterfall nearby was either just grew louder, or Thawpelt never noticed it, or the rhythmic thumping had died down. The brown and white tabby tom's right fore-leg lazily reached out, and grabbed mud. His eyes opened just a slit again, as he looked around. The red haze had dissipated some, and he could make out his surroundings.
The waterfall was a few good fox lengths in front of him. Thawpelt was laying of a patch of mud and pebbles, that made the river fork, and rejoin again later. His tail tip was still in the water, and his hole underside, and his left flank, was coated with mud. Now his arm was too, as he pulled it back, leaving a trail in the wet and sloppy mud. Thawpelt looked like a full brown tabby, but his darker brown stripes only branched out on his forehead, down his spine, and around his tail, and part of his legs. His whiskers were partly clumped together by dry mud. In the distance, the image of a cat lay before him. Its back was to him, but it was partly in the same state as he was.
It was a struggle to get to his paws, as each step he took, they threatened to make him trip, and fall back into the river. And then the current would have its way with him once more. But Starclan knows how he did it, but some how, Thawpelt made his way to the side of this strange cat, and sat down on his haunches. "Snowstep?" Thawpelt questioned, as he tried to look threw the red fuzz, and see if he was seeing who he hoped he saw. Everything smelled like mud, because his sent glands were to lazy to detect any new smells right now. "Please let it be you, Snowstep..." Thawpelt meowed softly, so only he and the other cat could hear.

OOC: sooooooooooooo sorry i wasn't able to come on! I'm being murdered by school. X.x"
IC: Snowstep heard a voice. Well, a noice since her head couldn't interpret any words at that moment. she was just able to feel her body again, and her mind was slowly being uncovered from the misty blackness. there seemed to be a light ringing in her ears as she groaned and tried to shake the sound from her head. she felt warmth on her pelt, but cold and hard rocks underneath. she felt sore all over, and a teeth-clenching pain on her side where her ribs are located. (XP too much science today...) snowstep let out another soft groan and opened her eyes, wincing a little as light pierced through. images were blurred as brown and grey filled her view. the brown seemed close, but she had no sense of direction or feeling of density. it was all she could do to get her paws under her and push to get up, only to fall sideways against a support. the "brown thing", her mind told her.

OOC: Don't worry. Hey, let me quickly update you:
Angelstar was begged to stay, but she still wants to give up her leadership spot. Eaglefur is now Eaglestar, leader of Earthclan. Hiddenstar came back, and now is known as Dewcoat.
I think that is it...... >_>
IC: The cat gave a soft moan, and Thawpelt felt his heart race. This was Snowstep. After she gave another moan, Thawpelt watched as she tried to get to her paws. The mud must have made her slip, or something else, but the next thing Thawpelt knew, Snowstep was falling back to her side. Quickly, his muddy white paws moved, and he placed himself under Snowstep. His dark blue eyes focused on the light grey cat that now lay on his side. Her fur was slathered with mud, just like his. Thawpelt blinked softly, as his sense of smell finally started to come back. Snowstep's sweet scent finally ripped threw the harsh stench of mud, and wet grass. Thawpelt felt like a large weight was lifted of his chest, as her smell told him that this was Snowstep. It was proof that it was her. But there was still a few more problems. "Moonpelt?" Thawpelt called out blindly to nothing, hoping the new warrior would hear his call.

OOC: thanks lots! =P
IC: Snowstep felt the "brown thing" was soft... and warm... and...... Then he spoke. For some reason, that suddenly woke her up from the sorte of trance she was in. she felt her mind and sense come back to her, and that it was Thawpelt who stood beside her, letting her lean on him. "what happened?!" she asked in a worried and hurried tone, quickly maintaining balance and left his side, taking a few steps back to distance herself from him. then something more important came up. "...where are we?" she asked, looking around. it smelled like... WATERCLAN.

Moonpaw gasped with relief. Everything was fine now. At least both warriors were safe. She ran cross the rocks toward them. Gasping with every breath, she could hear Thawpelt's moan. She approached Thawpelt with caution, careful not to move him, in case he had any deep wounds from the injury. "I'm here Thawpelt. Thank Starclan you guys are alright. Are you hurt?" Without waiting for an answer, she approached to Snowstep beside him. "Snowstep? Are you hurt too?" "Should I call the medicine cat over?" she asked with panic.
