Spottednose approached to the FireClan clearing. Although she wasn't familiar with the territory, she could scent Darkpaw on the border line clearly. She hesitated, wheter if she would get caught by the Fireclan patrol. Would they accept the fact that she was here to help and not harm? As she got closer to the territory, Darkpaw's scent became stronger, and her worries eased less. She hid behind the shrubs, scenting if other Fireclan cats were near. Relief struck her as she could scent no one nearby. Slowly, she emerged out of the bushes she was hiding from and confronted to Darkpaw. There she was, curled up on a rock, waiting silently. Probably for her. "Hello there Darkpaw. Waiting for me?" she replied, raising the awarness that she was present.

Darkpaw shoot up. "Yes, I was," she meowed trying to hide her surprise. Darkpaw stared in relief at the Earthclan medicine cat. "Are we going to do any training?"

Spottednose grinned in amusement. "Of course we are Darkpaw. The faster it is to be done, the stronger you clan may be with less delays." She paused for a moment. "Now, I don't want to teach what you've learnt already, so tell me, Darkpaw, what your mentor has taught you already. That way, your training session will go by a lot faster as well." As she waited for Darkpaw's response, she took a deep breath. She wanted to locate where all the herbs she could scent nearby to continue with the training. With luck, she could scent one with success.

Darkpaw thought. "Well, you don't have to teach me to fight. Some warriors will train me. I learned the general herbs, but I don't know where to find them all..." Darkpaw took a breath and tried to think about what else she knew. "I don't remember what else I learned."

Darkpaw scented the air. She could only scent marigold, but that was all she had learned to scent. Her sparkling blue eyes dulled at discouragment. She felt the sun shine on her black pelt.

"Of course," Spottednose replied firmly, then she sighed, "We will have a lot of training to do." It would of course take up a lot of time. Deep in thought, she did not see Darkpaw sensing out the new auroma of herb. "Well, ok, let's start with what you know first. Name the general herbs that you know. It'll also help me and your practice as well, refreshing them from your memory. After that, we can continue, scenting for them in FireClan territory." She sat comfortably and waited for Darkpaw to start her naming.

"Well, watermint for belly ache and greencough, burdock root for infection, marigold for infection, juniper berry for belly ache, yarrow for making cats sick, poppy seed to make them sleep, and chevirl for infection,"Darkpaw recited the few herbs that Littleflower had taught her.

Spottednose gave a quick and curt nod and scrambled up. It was good enough at least, but she commented one important herb, "I'm not sure if you know this, but cobwebs are important as well, as they stop the bleeding. THat would be something important to know." She paused for a moment, taking a big sniff. At last, she could scent a herb nearby and smiled, "ALright, let's start finding the herbs now. Could you scent one that's familiar to you?"

IC: Spottednose followed from behind as Darkpaw lead the way. Without doubt, she knew that Darkpaw would be a good medicine cat one day. Taking the thought out of her mind, the strong aroma of the herb approached to her, stronger than before.

Spottednose nodded her head in agreement. With a purr, she replied, "That is indeed correct Darkpaw. The leaves would be best to use for wounds." Though, she could see the uncertainty in her eyes. Trying to soothe her, with her tail, she brushed it against Darkpaw's pelt, "If you set your hurt to it, I'm sure you'll do fine." Turning back to the marigolds, she paused. "Do you know how to use them?"

"I think so," Darkpaw bite a few leaves off with uncertainty. She began to chew the leaves into pulp, just as Littleflower showed her before she went missing. She went to a rock and began to spread the pulp over it, as if it were a wounded cat. "I don't want to waste cobwebs on a rock, but I would put cobweb over the pulp. Right?"

OOC: Isn't it cobwebs first? Cobwebs stop the bleeding, and marigolds stop infection?
Spottednose nodded her head in approval. "That's right Darkpaw. You are indeed correct. Well done." Feeling proud of her first apprentice, though not from her clan, was a first experience to her. She couldn't help but feel the hope, joy and pride that she had once had as a young apprentice. Looking around again, she caught sight of a juniper bush. Gently brushing her tail to Darkpaw's flalnk, she showed it to her. "Look Darkpaw, have you seen one of those bushes before? Do you know what it's use for?"

"Correct." Spottednose replied. "The dark and ripe ones will do fine. Those will heal better than the light red ones. It'll mean that it's not ripe enough. But they will, over time." She paused again, for the information to absorb into Darkpaw, then she continued on, "Do you know where it's best to find Watermint?"

Darkpaw knew where. That was the first thing Littleflower showed her. "There was a small patch by a two-leg garden, but it over grew and is growing in Fireclan territory now.[/b]

OOC: Yep. ^^ I'll set up a mentor ceremony in lightning clan.
"Wonderful! You are getting better at this. But when the cold weather starts to far, with snow coming in, some herbs would be destroyed, espicially with watermint. With those, you are unable to use them if it gets touched with snow. It would be best to collect as many herbs as you can, espicially Watermint. Those tend to be scarce during the winter seasons."
