Reunion

Sunset pounced quickly on the scrawny rabbit. It never had a chance, she thought. Quickly tearing through it, she looked up. There, on the next hill was a pale brown tom.

Forestfur stared at the orange she-cat. Is that Sunset? he thought. Since he had found out that his sister was still alive, he had searched fruitlessly for her. Now, he could be staring right at her.

Treestar slowly made his way threw the grass. His head was low, but his yellow-green eyes were up. And just beyond the hill, he could see Sunset. It had been a wile sense he had first met his daughter, and now, he had come to see her again. Sadly, the Earthclan leader had not been able to get his son from Skyclan. In fact, if he had meet him, what would he have said? "Hey! I'm your dad, but I decided to leave you in another clan! Will you come with me to some area you may have never heard of?" that would have scared the fur off of him. And plus, that would be just asking for some trouble. Treestar had kept this secret away from his son for too long to just dump it all on him now. Those things had to be said over time.

Treestar let his head rise, when he was sure that he was in his daughter's territory. High Hills. "Sunset!" Treestar called out, as he raced to his kit's side. He rubbed his light brown tabby head softly to her flank in welcome, but turned to the right when he caught a scent. What....no....Earthclan? On another hill, stood a cat. The Earthclan leader instantly put a paw out in front of his daughter protectively, as his tail lashed from side to side. he had just met Sunset, and was not ready to let her go.

Quickly nuzzling her father, Sunset bounded quickly towards the brown tom. Who was he? He couldn't possibly be... Forest, her brother that Moonrise had given to the Clans?

The closer the orange cat came, the more Forestfur wondered if this was a good idea. He had promised Leaffur not to do anything stupid or dangerous. Surely coming into another cat's territory was both.

Treestar was a little shocked when Sunset ran to the tom. All he could do, was watch as she came closer to him. Please, Starclan. I know I have done wrong, but let this not be a enemy. Treestar whispered in his mind.

Sunset bounded toward the tom. "Forest?" she mewed hesitantly.

Forestfur's eyes widened when Treestar came and nuzzled the she-cat, but he quickly recovered. Then he heard the she-cat say his old name, Forest. "Sunset?" he meowed breathlessly.

IC: Treestar made his way slowly, as he focaused on the Earthclan tom that was before him. "Forestfur?" The leader called, with clear shock in his voice. The warrior knew Sunset? But how?

"I thought you had forgotten me," Sunset sighed. "You must have a good life."

"How could I forget you Sunset?" Forestfur mewed. "I could not, will never. But I am not Forest anymore, I am Forestfur." Now he turned to Treestar. "I am surprised, though that I find my leader here. To what honor could he know you?"

Sunset looked at Forestfur as if he were a moron. "Why don't you explain to my brother, Treestar."

Treestar was surprised once more. Brother?!?! The leader stepped forward bodly despite his swirling mind. Then...he has....two sons...AND a daughter?! "I am....Sunset's...I mean...your father....Forestfur..." The leader knew his words were slightly wobbly, but any cat's words would too, if they had just found out a secret their past love had kept from them for a long time! The leader hoped he was ready for what Forestfur had to say.

Sunset looked at Forestfur's shocked face. Surely he shouldn't be so surprised!

Forestfur looked at his sister and Treestar like they were both mousebrains (which, in fact, they weren't). Treestar, their father? No way! "No," he mewed. "I don't have a father."

Treestar frowned at Forestfur's words. Some how the leader was expecting this. He turned his yellow-green eyes to Sunset for support.

"Listen Forestfur," Sunset growled gently. "It doesn't matter if you beleave Treestar or not. We are family, every one of us, and even if you go home to a pretty little mate, that doesn't mean you can ignore the facts. Moonrise placed you in EarthClan to be with our father."

Forestfur frowned. How could she know about Leaffur? But she was right, cats had always said that he and Treestar looked to be kin. And his foster mother had said that Treestar was the one who insisted that he be let into the Clan. Could Treestar had known? Judging by the leader's puzzled expression, he hadn't. "OK, your my father, but only because I trust my sister."

OOC: I'm guessing this is after the little thing with Sunset and Foxcloud?


IC:Treestar's frown cracked into a faint grin, as a purr rose from his chest. "Thank you, Forestfur." the Earthclan leader purred, but suddenly he stopped. His face turned serious, as he looked his son in the eyes, "We are to tell no one. The clan, nor clan's', will ever understand." The leader was serious, just like his old self. Well, the moment WAS serious. What whould happen if other cats found out about this. Treestar searched their faces, and waited for what they would say.

Sunset nodded. "But when will I get to meet Thawpelt? I've been observing him..." (ooc: for details see Kin)

Forestfur nodded to Treestar, then looked at Sunset. "What about Thawpelt, that SkyClan mousebrain?"

Sunset stared angrily at Forestfur. "SkyClan mousebrain? Pah! I'm going hunting." With that she ran toward the best rabbit area.

IC: Treestar was about to answer Sunset's question, but she had already raced off. Now the leader looked at Forestfur, with a risen eyebrow. "Mouse brained, ey?" the Earthclan tom growled softly. "You may as well be calling yourself that, if you are going to call your older kin that." Treestar sat in front of Forestfur, as he awaited the tom's reply. Chances were, that Forestfur wouldn't believe him, but it was worth a shot.

Forestfur looked disbeleaving at Treestar. "You might as well be telling me that hedgehogs can fly." he murmured slowly.

"You'd better beleave it," Sunset mewed as she came back with a large rabbit. "I did learn a few fighting moves from Moonrise."

Treestar was now serious, like he always was. His face was stiff, and mouth in a soft frown. This was the face of Treestar, that all Earthclan cat's knew. "I could tell you that, but if that is connected to Thawpelt being your older kin, then you better look up, because hedgehogs are flying." The leader's tail didn't sway happily. He felt very unhappy that his son did not trust him. He could always order him to believe, but that wouldn't do. Treestar hated ordering people around. All he could do, was hope that Sunset would make Forestfur believe.

Sunset returned with a plump rabbit. "Listen Forestfur," she mewed. "If you don't beleave our father, then you don't beleave me. And I don't take kindly to cats that don't beleave me. If you ever want to be able to just prance into my terrirory again, then you'd better beleave that Thawpelt is our brother. And you'd better make some effort to get to know him, or you will get the same treatment as that mousebrained Foxcloud of that mousebrained FireClan. And she actually thought that I would like to join FireClan after she made me shed blood!"

Forestfur stared angrily at his paws. "Okay I'll talk to him, but don't expect me to tell him anything. What would I say? 'Hey, I'm your brother and you were born to this cat called Moonrise and are the kin of Treestar. Oh, and you have a sister named Sunset who lives life as a rouge.' Imagine how embarrassing that would be. Honestly he lives in SkyClan and I am of EarthClan. It's mousebrained!"

Treestar's tail flicked with slight adgitation at Forestfur's words, "It was wise of your mother to leave him there. Everyone thinks that he was born to normal Skyclan family, when the family knows he was just some cat they found. They keep that secret from him, even though that is not the true secret." and once the leader had said those words, he froze, as Sunset's words began to sink into his head. "You were on Fireclan territory?....AND you attacked a warrior!?" Treestar's voice cracked slightly when he whipped his head to Sunset, then Forestfur, then back again.

"No, she attacked me. There I was, just looking in to learn some battle moves, and that mousebrained apprentice challenges me. Then Foxcloud came and clawed me. Mousebrain. I showed her whats what. Or I would have if Forestfur hadn't butted in."

Forestfur looked terrified and he bowed his head, awaiting the punishment he was sure would come.

The Earthclan leader shook his head slowly at the two, then layed his tail over Forestfur's shoulder to let him know that he was not in trouble. "Going into another's territory is already bad. But when a warrior comes along, and you have no good reason to be there, you are not to fight, but to leave. You surely do have a bit of your mother in you." Treestar looked at them with friendly yellow-green eyes. But his eyes were half clouded with worry. He feared what would be said at the next gathering, and weather Forestfur would face any punishments. Treestar was the final one to say no or yes, but if Fireclan wanted it, then it must be done. The Earthclan leader pondered what he would have to do to his son if it was wished for by Burningstar.
