"Well Ninjapaw, what can you smell?" Sharpclaw growled. He secretly loved the rascally apprentice, but didn't show it.

Ninjapaw opened his mouth and sniffed the air wildly. Ninjapaw closed his mouth and stared at the ground and hesitated. "A water vole, a crow, 2 seagulls, a mouse, and an entire nest of clifinch." Ninjapaw licked is lips annd darted up the tree.
Ninjapaw clenched the nest of baby clifinch between his jaws and sprinted to a large puddle and put the nest underwater. he reterned to Sharpclaw, victorious. then gloated, "Bet you could'nt catch THIS many at once!".

"NINJAPAW! NEVER MESS WITH YOUR SUPERIOR, ESPECIALLY ME! Oh and, you missed this." Sharpclaw jumped up into a tree and clenched a squrrel in his jaws, killed it, and tossed it at Ninjapaw, hitting the apprentice on the head. The squrrel spontaniously gave birth to four more squrrels, outnumbering Ninjapaw's caffinches by one.
"And yes, I can." Sharpclaw sneered.

"What?!?!?!?!" Ninjapaw yowled, "How is that even possible?!?!?!?" Ninjapaw nudged the dead squrrels to Sharpclaw and pressed his head to a tree, absently meowed into the distance, and fainted.
When they got to the training hollow, Ninjapaw shot a warning glance at Sharpclaw that said "Oh its on!". Sharpclaw smiled for a second then went back to his usual frown. Ninjapaw know that Sharpclaw secretly loved him, but never knew why. "Ha ha, who could'nt love me!" Ninjapaw thought to himself as he sat in front of Sharpclaw, awaiting orders.

Sharpclaw saw the look in Ninjapaw's eyes.... He knew. Oh well, Sharpclaw decided, it won't hurt, especially if i don't go easy.
Sharpclaw suddenly howled "No claws!" and leaped at Ninjapaw sending the apprentice staggering across the clearing.

Ninjapaw puffed out air from the impact but letting him off gurd for a second, letting Sharpclaw hit him again. Ninjapaw drop-kicked Sharpclaw and went into a tree. Then cannonballed out of the tree and hit Sharpclaw square in the side.

Sharpclaw caughed and sprang into the trees, darting from branch to branch, tree to tree, around the clearing. Sharpclaw leaped from behind Ninjapaw, bowling the apprentice over and pinning him to the ground.
"You should always expect the unexpected, Ninjapaw." Sharpclaw mewed, letting his apprentice up.
"Now, that is your lesson for the day, hunt a bit on the way back and get some for the elders."
