Goldenclaw smiled in memory of the first time he had ever seen snow. how wonderful it had been, how incredibly magical...
"It's cold, and beautiful," he started. "its like tiny pieces of the clouds drifting down to cover everything in a blanket of ice. it will stick to your fur, but then if you catch a flake on your tounge or pad, it melts. when you walk in it it leaves clear tracks, like mud, but it dosen't get your paws dirty. it can't be long now before first snowfall. you'll love it, i'm sure."
but he left out how snow can blind you and freze you to you're bones. he left out how it could bury cats if they were not careful, and how nearly all the prey dissapeared after snow was on the ground. its better not to scare them. they'll learn, in time... he reasoned.
